prometrium iui

I had my 1st cycle trying IUI and prometrium, Dr told me if after 14 past IUI BFN then stop prometrium. Friday was 14 days and of course BFN I stopped in the am and am wondering when AF will show.

I recently underwent IUI after Clomid, Follistim and Ovidrel, in that order. Since my IUI i have been on Prometrium twice a day. My question is... will i get a period if not pregnant while taking Prometrium?

I had my 3rd IUI on 5/7/08. I took Clomid on days 5-9. This morning I was not feeling well (nausea, tired, etc). I am really hoping that I am pregnant but I'm not sure if my "symptoms" are just in my head or real. It seems too early to have pregnancy symptoms but what do you think? Has anyone had symptoms this early on? Could they just be related to Clomis? Any input is very much appreciated. Thanks!

I am in the same boat as the original poster. I have been taking prometrium vaginally the day after IUI which was on May 25th and i have started headaches today....

Question about taking Prometrium (progesterone) after an iui--does it cause cramping? I've been feeling crampy since yesterday (day 6 after iui) and I'm wondering if that is due to the progesterone. I don't want to get my hopes up thinking it's possibly implantation cramping if it's probably just due to the Prometrium...

hai i am 24yrs old...i did my 2nd iui...21days after iui i didnt get period but we did blood test ..its negative i have normal 28 days cycle....

A little over a week ago I had a canceled IUI due to too many follicles and very high estrogen. Since then I've been taking 200mg Prometrium twice a day (to bring on my period I think). Also since then, I've had a lot of pain in my breasts. It seems to be getting a little bit better but I thought if it was related to the high estrogen it would be gone by now. It's still very much present. Did anyone ever experience this and is it normal? Thanks!

I had an IUI a few weeks ago and then started taking prometrium for ten days. I finished up last Wednesday so it has been 5 days. How long until I should expect my period after my last prometrium?

any other ladies on Prometrium?? I am almost 5 weeks today I've had 2 miscarriages in the last 7 months and my docotr put me on Prometrium today 100mg suppositories 2 times a day. I really hope this baby stays with me I go for my first scan on June.

I did accupuncture twice a week for 3 weeks and 3 times after the IUI. my NP told me to use Prometrium twice a day after IUI which I did the last 2 cycles when I was on Clomid and my AF came before the end of 2ww. but now it's been 17 dpIUI and still no sign of AF. I've already stopped Prometrium althought my NP told me not to. I just don't want to have any false hope any more. I had 4 follis size from 24 to 20. did IUI 48 hrs after the surge.

I am 7 dpo and had a medicated iui 1 week ago. My progesterone level was 17 today and they put me on prometrium bc they want it around 20? Does this mean im not pregnant?

I took clomid Cd5-9 and my RE put me on Prometrium after IUI..its killing me..i get dizzy after 1 hour of taking that yellow pill..and i even fainted this saturday when we had some guests from toronto..that was embarrasing... Well i didnt test yet..and i dont even want to...tired of seeing BFN's in last 1 year :) not even thinking much about it as i had only 1 big follicle even after taking clomid...so i dont have positive vibes for this cycle ..i am already preparing myself for 2nd IUI..

hopefulcb, When I took prometrium for af (without ovulating) i had normal flow, after our first IUI (also my first ever ovulation) without prometrium I had the heaviest flow I have ever had It was the first time i bleed through in seconds, tmi sorry. This is our second IUI and I took prometrium from 3dpIUI this cycle I should start tomorrow BFN this AM so I will let you know if it was worse than last cycle, man i might not survive if it is :). I took Prometrium with my FET and my son is 2 now. Now I am 8 weeks pregnant through IUI and I am on Prometrium. With fertility treatment they almost always give Progesterone.

My RE put me on Crinone gel 8% after my iui--it says on the package that it's 90 mg of progesterone. Does this seem low? Before (with a different dr) I was on 400 prometrium and then switched to 800 mg compounded progesterone in a vaginal suppository. Are the dosages somehow different or am I getting 1/8 what I was before?

Hello all...I guess I don't really have a question...but more of a statement..I am in my 2ww...8dptrigger, 7dpo and 6dp first round of IUI..and I am going freaking crazy!! I am on 600mcg's of Prometrium daily and just don't feel like myself!! The wait is unbelievable and I can't stop thinking about pregnancy, babies, success rates and failing. So I guess I do have a question....Does anyone else feel this way? Or has felt this way?

Alright well since my follie isn't wanting to let go of the egg this month (had IUI yesterday sono to check today and even with trigger follie is growing bigger 25mm). I have my prometrium I was supposed to start using intravaginally tonight... (hx of low progesterone high estrogen and endo). The RN at the RE said I could hold off or I could go ahead and take it in a few days..but didn't seem real confident in the second option..

5 mg day 3-7, followed by overlap Gonal F 150 units day 6-10, IUI April 25 and 26 (Sunday, Monday) and about to start Prometrium tonight. My Beta is on May 9th. Good luck to everyone! Here's hoping to keeping each other sane and a BFP soon!

I have my blood test on Monday. I am still taking Prometrium suppositories. Do you know if Prometrium will delay a period? I was gonna call my dr today but I feel like a nag!

Clomit makes the linig thin for most of the women.But maybe you're not yet out for this cycle. I have gottten pregnant 3 times with timed BD even though my re wanted to do IUI. So don't give up yet hope. Prometrium makes your lining thicker so maybe it will work. But i agree not doing clomit next time, injectables are much more better.

Hi there- I am taking prometrium right now and I also took it last cycle. I had my third IUI on Tuesday and I was instructed to start it yesterday. I thought the same thing when I first saw the bottle-don't take if you are or could become pregnant. I guess our RE's know best...best of luck to you!

my understand when you have your trigger shot, the ovulation should take place within 36 hours. I was on prometrium for 15 days one a day after the ovulation.. I don't think there is any restriction while on Prometrium... Good luck to you..

I have some ideas abt Ivf but not iui , cause am doing Ivf day 7 on meds and am really worried didn't get so good news yesterday.

usually i ovulate CD15, but this cycle i ovulated CD13. I have 31days cycle so i expect to have AF tomorrow. I am not sure this is the month because right now i can feel AF is coming. I don't have any cramp or anything, but somehow the body tells me it's coming. That's ok. my DH and I already plan to try one more time with additional medicine. My dr will put me on 150mg clomid (3-7) while i also have a injection on CD3, 5, 7, and 9. it's repronex.
