Once it is working on its own they say there is no need for the pills. However they will put me on shots becasue of preterm labor starting at 14 weeks and I will go off the pills at 12 weeks. I will have two weeks with nothing! Scarey to me. Do you have a history of preterm labor? I know lots of woman that do great once coming off the pills or suppositories.
I was on prometrium first 12 weeks due to high risk for miscarriage and I am now 29 weeks and feel great.
well i just went into early labor on sept. 23,2009 and unfortanatley my boys only survived for a week...but to get to the point...if you dont feel right taking them dont and ask your doctor for an alternative. Well my doctor said that other than it being common to go into early labor is common but he said i have a weak cervix so he recommands me getting a cerclage they stich ur cervix on the 3rd month that prevents going into early labor. and he says it always works.
I've been on progesterone meds since five weeks and will stop at twelve weeks and start injections at sixteen weeks completely safe
The last appointment i had, I asked the doc if I should get off of it, but he said to stay on because progesterone is also used to prevent prevent preterm labor. I find this whole experience ot be confusing and illogical because at 16 weeks he was just gonna let me stop taking it cold turkey. It was only after persistent questioning that he reluctantly informed me that I could wean myself off of it for 4 days.
3cm at 28 weeks so that puts me at risk for preterm labor. They percribed me progesterone pills to insert daily until 36 week she said it could or couldn't help that the decision is mine and so I definitly want to start it since she said it could help and wouldn't hurt. Ladies what are your oppinions on progesterone? And if you have been on it what was your ecpierence???
I'm currently on progesterone due to previous preterm labor with my last son. I started at 16 weeks and will be off of them by 36 weeks. So far, for me the only side effect is gaining weight more rapidly. I did feel more energized after starting them too..
I have also heard that if ur preggo with twins which I am its good to keep taking the prometrium to minimize the chances of premature labor. I want to know if I should stop the prometrium or keep taking it until my 12w checkup. What do u guys think?
Hello ladies, i visited my doctor today for a check up & she told me I'm at risk for preterm labor. I understand than young women 17 and younger are at risk. I'm seventeen, turning 18 in ten days. This is my first baby, 28 weeks & two days, 5'3" & have gained 27pounds throughout my pregnancy. But really, you cannot tell. Any advice? Should i be worried? Make early plans?
So today I was tested for preterm labor and the test came back positive. So I was sent to l&d where they monitored me, gave me a steroid shot to develop babies lungs, and sent me home. They said to watch for contractions and come back in if they get worse. I'm now having really bad back cramps, like I'm getting my peroid. They are pretty constant but have times where they get worse. They hurt so bad they are waking me up from sleep. Do you think I should go back in?
