Once it is working on its own they say there is no need for the pills. However they will put me on shots becasue of preterm labor starting at 14 weeks and I will go off the pills at 12 weeks. I will have two weeks with nothing! Scarey to me. Do you have a history of preterm labor? I know lots of woman that do great once coming off the pills or suppositories.
I was on prometrium first 12 weeks due to high risk for miscarriage and I am now 29 weeks and feel great.
Well my doctor said that other than it being common to go into early labor is common but he said i have a weak cervix so he recommands me getting a cerclage they stich ur cervix on the 3rd month that prevents going into early labor. and he says it always works.look up online to reead exactly what a cerclage is and ask your doctor if that would be the right thing for you. hope it helps.
I've been on progesterone meds since five weeks and will stop at twelve weeks and start injections at sixteen weeks completely safe
im 22 weeks and my dr says im at risk of having preterm lavor and he put me in prometrium 200 mg those any one know how safe is to take it at this far of pregnancy???? thanks and i will apreciate any kind of help thanks.
does the progesterone shots up that prevent preterm labor does it actually work it actually work??
3cm at 28 weeks so that puts me at risk for preterm labor. They percribed me progesterone pills to insert daily until 36 week she said it could or couldn't help that the decision is mine and so I definitly want to start it since she said it could help and wouldn't hurt. Ladies what are your oppinions on progesterone? And if you have been on it what was your ecpierence???
I'm currently on progesterone due to previous preterm labor with my last son. I started at 16 weeks and will be off of them by 36 weeks. So far, for me the only side effect is gaining weight more rapidly. I did feel more energized after starting them too..
That condition is known as placenta previa you will most likely need a c-section and need to stay away from over exertion. STay in contact with your doctor any thing out of the ordinary let him know. This can be serious so make sure you completely understand all your risks. Being aware and informed is your best bet and will help keep you and your baby safe.
I went into preterm labor for the first time a week ago Friday. It was very "light", though and they said it was more like "uterine irritability". We wouldn't have even known about it (I didn't feel any contractions, except a few BH) if we hadn't gone in for some scary bright red bleeding after sex. They did say no more sex, though, which is causing some emotional irritability, lol.
I have also heard that if ur preggo with twins which I am its good to keep taking the prometrium to minimize the chances of premature labor. I want to know if I should stop the prometrium or keep taking it until my 12w checkup. What do u guys think?
I started having preterm labor when I was around 30 weeks pregnant with my son and remember feeling like the baby was going to fall out from the pressure. I would make a doc appointment and have them check you. Some pressure is normal depending on how your baby is positioned will determine how much you feel it.... but always better safe than sorry.
So today I was tested for preterm labor and the test came back positive. So I was sent to l&d where they monitored me, gave me a steroid shot to develop babies lungs, and sent me home. They said to watch for contractions and come back in if they get worse. I'm now having really bad back cramps, like I'm getting my peroid. They are pretty constant but have times where they get worse. They hurt so bad they are waking me up from sleep. Do you think I should go back in?
Are your doctor not worried you are already dilated to a 3? I would be concerned about preterm labor!
