My ob/gyn has put me on Prometrium to help regulate my menstrual cycle. My husband and I are trying to concieve our second child. With my first child I was put on prometrium for the first trimester due to low progesterone levels. This month I thought there was a chance I was pregnant and he told me instead of taking it days 16-25 I should remain on it until I know for sure if I am pregnant. I still have not gotten my period, and I am 3 days late.
Sunday afternoon had cramping and bleeding. Did not take Prometrium the night before due to being told I was having m/c. I called my OB Sunday. He said to keep taking the Prometrium and have my hcg rechecked Monday. I did. Monday my hcg was 44. My bleeding was only light spotting by then. My Doctor said I was still pregnant-could be tubal, molar, or normal. He did not know. He said Progesterone levels taken previous Saturday would tell if it was tubal or molar.
Question about taking Prometrium (progesterone) after an iui--does it cause cramping? I've been feeling crampy since yesterday (day 6 after iui) and I'm wondering if that is due to the progesterone. I don't want to get my hopes up thinking it's possibly implantation cramping if it's probably just due to the Prometrium...
My progesterone dropped during my 4th week of pregnancy and the doctor prescribed prometrium. I am currently experiencing brief but horrible cramping accompanied with some minor bleeding. I've read the prescription information pamphlet over and over, and that is apparently a side effect. But with my history...I just need to know if anyone else experienced the same while taking Prometrium but still was able to have a healthy baby.
I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..
Well my doctor told me that cramping is normal. As long as it doesn't hurt really bad or you're not bleeding , it's ok but I'm new to this so, let's see what others say or call your doctor, that's what I do when I'm concerned.
So I got my BFP this morning! So exciting, But I have been having alot of cramping today, its pretty bad. Kinda makes my legs tingle. I know I had cramping with my dd but I just wanted some re-assurance from other ladies in early pregnancy I guess!
Im 7wks & 6days pregnant & i have slight cramping in my abdomen, nvr in the center, only on the left & right sides. Is this normal?? It makes me nervous bc i am high risk & im also on prometrium hormone pills to raise my progesterone levels bc they were extremely low to where my dr said i should have m/c..
Anyway, I was wondering what your dr said about the prometrium helping you get preggo? I was just wondering what other uses they use prometrium for besides starting periods..
Well it was from 4/14-4/18 and pretty much consisted of heavy spotting and barely any cramping (unusual for me). Then on 4/26-5/1 - same thing!! So then I went to the OBGYN, after an u/s he believed that I wasn't ovulating. So he put me on Prometrium 200mg for 12 days. I started it on 5/2 and last night I began spotting. Then today heavy flow (mostly dark brown and kinda gooey) and cramps.
Abdominal cramping is not abnormal. I think it depends on how bad bad is. It could be anything from gas (a normal pregnancy symtom) to your uterus beginning to stretch out (also normal).
If you think you are about 3 weeks, only 1 more week until you can take an HPT. I will keep my fingers crossed for you its a BFP. I test in one week as well, along with another woman on this forum, so we'll be right there with you. Good luck!
s when she put me on the Prometrium. Without cramping or pain, could it still be Ashermans? Is it too early (9 weeks since D&C and almost 2 weeks since finishing Prometrium) to start with an HSG? My patience is worn thin but I also don't want to get myself in a tizzy and stress out about it. That definitely won't help.
I haven't had that happen actually. I think the only weird thing that happened was from when I inserted it too far, I got some spotting and a little pain. But I don't think it would qualify as cramping. I'm not positive, though, as it was a few months ago. But good that it's working for you. Something else that helped me is maca root. I had a few months w/just progesterone supplementation (prometrium) but it didn't really help much.
I have my blood test on Monday. I am still taking Prometrium suppositories. Do you know if Prometrium will delay a period? I was gonna call my dr today but I feel like a nag!
I am on day 22 of cycle. I took clomid 50mg at beginning and have been on prometrium by mouth since day 14. I have been feeling strange today and noticed a little bloody tissue in the bath tub. I am have low back pain and some cramping. I felt ovulation pain on day 14 but the opk did not give me a positive until day 16. Does this sound like I am pregnant?
