I have had 3 past m/c, but 3 healthy children since the last one. I found out Thurs. I was pregnant. I called my ob. He started me on Prometrium 200 mg vaginally per day. I started that Friday night. Sat. afternoon I had some brown spotting. Was checked at ER and everything ok. hcg was 17-they said was very early.They also checked my progesterone level. Sat. night late had heavier red bleeding like period. Went back to ER they said was m/c most likely.
I am pregnant (week 5) and have some brown discharge and sometimes bleeding also. my progesterone is 28.9. doctor suggests me progesterone suppository . is my baby safe or i have complications in my pregnancy?

I can't sleep I just saw some brown pinkish blood:( some side left pain and some cramping :( waiting for doctor office to open to call her.
I would appreciate any feedback. Very quickly, since I went off the pill in August 2007, I suffered a m/c in December. On 4/14 AF came on time (for the first time might I add) so I figured maybe my cycle will be regular. Well it was from 4/14-4/18 and pretty much consisted of heavy spotting and barely any cramping (unusual for me). Then on 4/26-5/1 - same thing!! So then I went to the OBGYN, after an u/s he believed that I wasn't ovulating. So he put me on Prometrium 200mg for 12 days.
hi nickieb85 i have cramps as well in my pregnancy & i also have a lil bit of brown discharge every now & again is this ok?
she took my hcg 2 times with a gap of 2 days and they are going good(12256 to 36000).but she said my progesterone was 22 , and she prescibed me prometrium (vaginal suppositery)100mg once at bed timeand she would repeat the scan on feb 2 wed so that we can see some growth and even hearbeat so i am little worried......and anxious ....
I have always wondered if the suppositories affect the eggs and she thinks that prometrium caps are better. Any thoughts about this ladies?

So he put me on Prometrium 200mg for 12 days. I started it on 5/2 and last night I began spotting. Then today heavy flow (mostly dark brown and kinda gooey) and cramps. I have 3 days left of the Prometrium (after today) and he had said I wouldn't start until 3-7 days after. The whole idea of me taking this is to regulate my cycle (it was either this or birth control for 2 months, but he said since I an TTC to try this first).
My wife just found she is pregnant about 6 weeks. Currently she have dark brown spotting for more than 7 days, along with a little blood sometimes. I went to the hospital and they said they need to monitor by HCG's but also that I have to take UTI. I have taken both HCG & UTI , both results are normal as of now .
She does not have any seviour cramping & heavy blood loss. Now she is worried more about the discharge.
I have had three very early miscarriages last year..so my doctor put me on Prometrium 200 mg twice a day to keep my progesterone levels up...and yes it has helped me tremendously...my progesterone level was at 72 until my last blood test. my doctor told me i could stop taking it after ten weeks. i had to switch doctors cuz he wasn't for OB. He stopped practicing that some time ago...
My last visit to my new doctor was pretty quick...
