my first round on Prometrium AF was a few days late and the day after I called my dr's office - she came so no questions there... The next cycle AF was on time - and the third - was a success and I took it through my first trimester - now I'm getting close to the third. It was a horrible waiting game b/c the side effects of prometrium were just about the same as early pregnancy and PMS! Good luck.
I had 2 miscarriages in the past and with this one i went on prometrium and baby aspirin although nothing was ever diagnosed either. i did not experience any bleeding as a side effect of the prometrium though. have you had a scan yet?
I was prescribed prometrium and this is my second month. This month I used an ovulator kit and BD on the right days and took prometrium as soon as I ovulated, so why am I not pregnant. I have all the symptoms; but this can also be prometrium side effects. I really do not believe that I am pregnant because I have not experienced any spotting. I am SO frustrated. Has anyone gone through the same experience?
I did not get periods for 2 months but I was getting some kind of bleeding every now and then. My gynac suggested me to take prometrium for 10 days after seeing a follicle. Its been 7 days now that i have stopped prometrium but still no periods. I have take HPT too in the past week and both the tests are negative.
I am confused if I am pregnant or not
Could some one suggest me here any solution.
Also, when should we take the HPT once we stop prometrium.
t know should I find another doctor....Would it be OK to come off Prometrium all of a sudden and I should reduce my dosage to once a day...Please help..so confused...
t prescribe anything until more bloodwork the next time I was pregnant I took matters into my own hands a little and decided to use progesterone cream as I had read a lot about it and saw the positive effects... Most likely the reason I've held onto this one so far I'm only 4 weeks 2 days and progesterone level was 16.11 they want above 20 and hcg was 295... Now they called and prescribed promethium 4x a day and I pray to god that this helps!!
I have had one miscarriage at 4 months and I fear I am probably having another one with my second pregnancy I have been prescribed Prometrium and I am just wondering if it has done any good to any one etc.

I went through an ovulation induction cycle and was put on prometrium (progesterone) to support a healthy lining. I am now 20 days past ovulation, no period, and three negative home pregnancy tests (it is now day 33 of my cycle and I am typically a 28 day cycle, like clockwork). I talked to the doctor today who told me to stop the prometrium and I should expect my period in 2-3 days.
we started in july 08 - got pregnant first try - i got a bad yeast infection and then m/c at 6 wks. ever since then, just before every cycle i get the same symptoms - red, itchy and irritated - but it goes away when AF does.... and to make matters more frustrating - my cycle is now 40 days. used to be between 32-35.
any suggestions?
I have had a migraine every day starting at around noon and lasting until I go to bed. I took prometrium prior to pregnancy for period induction which i took for 10 days and i would get a "withdrawl" migraine for a day or two. Have any of you ladies experienced this? I'm really getting sick of taking tylenol every 4 hours but my head throbs so bad i can't see straight if i don't. I called my doc today and of course he's out of the office.
Oh and your luteal phase should be a full 14 days! If you are getting your period in 10 days then your progesterone levels need to be rechecked as you might need more progesterone! you need mroe time for a baby to implant.

So after 3 miscarriages I am pregnant (age 38) again with great hcg. And went for my 1st ultrasound at 6 weeks yesterday and they found the fetal pole and the hb was 116 bpm. So Im very happy... I would like to continue to have sex with my partner but do you think its safe? Could it cause a miscarriage? Also I\m on prometrium until 13 weeks so I;d hate to miscarry after sex and not know it..

I have been TTC for 1 year and 1/2. I have had 2 miscarriages, both at around 6 weeks. I was transfered to a fertility clinic late last year. The fertility doc wants me to take 400g of prometrium from 4dpo to 13dpo. He says it doesn't matter whether I'm pregnant or not as the progesterone only helps during implantation and according to him stopping if I am pregnant will not have a negative effect as a valid pregnancy will generate enough progesterone on its own.
I was in prometrium 200mg once a day with my 3rd pregnancy..and still i m/c at 17&1/2 weeks.. and i stopped taking the prometrium at my 15&1/2weeks( i should only take them for 12 weeks, but my dr told me to continued the left pills..) still don't know the reason why,, if it's bec. i stopped taking the progesterone supplement or there is some thing else..
I am 9 weeks pregnant (thank God) and I was taking metformin to control insulin levels and hormone levels. I got pregnant four months after starting the metformin treatment. Because I had a miscarriage last year. They put me on prometrium. As soon as I found out I was pregnant. I went to get my HCG and progesteron checked. it was HCG 130 and progesterone 45.8 which is good. But they put me on it just in case.
Was just writing on my journal and realized that even wehn I was pregnant last month and was taking prometrium 200 mg. 2X a day, I was never ever this nauseaus. So I think I'm just getting really sick.

I had a lot of breast tenderness last month bc I was taking prometrium and esterdiol, when I told my doc she said prometrium was causing it, this month I'm only taking esterdiol 2mg a day and I have extermely sore breast again. Not sure if it's due to esterdiol or I'm pregnant.
