For the last few months ive had pain in my left side under the ribs that radiates to the right side. Very tnder to touch, pain also radiates through my back Just got diagnosed with IBS. The pain is constant and always tender anyone else have this? Would love some feedback.
I also just started taking Bentyl 10mg dont know if its working yet only had 2 doses so far. I just want the pain and tenderness to go away.
Last night i developed a sore throat that continued today, i also am sick to my stomach although i can eat and drink, i have attacks where i feel like throwing up. Ive been taking Prevacid for about two weeks for what may be an ulcer, ulcerative colitis, or ceoliac spore. I don't feel weak like i usually do when I'm sick, I believe it may be a side effect of the medicine. Should i seek medical help or stop taking the medicine? or should i continue doing what ive been doing?

I hope I am understanding your question properly. We commonly refer to your complaints as "heartburn" or GERD which stands for GI Reflux Disease
It is common during pregnancy and can be treated with TUMS or other antacid products. If it is severe, I will often treat my patients with Prilosec or Prevacid for an interval to get symptoms under control. Two tips--don't eat large meals, and don't lie down for at least an hour after eating!

Stomach acid is also a major issue with this. I have been on prevacid and after about 6weeks felt better. Now not so much. I have also had an endoscopy, hida scan and so on with no luck... Any suggestions???
I've had ibs..I honestly believe..for 3-4 yrs..now I'm hitting that 100 severe double over w pain..can't go anywhere, just the thought of ems workers walking in my bathroom that night, I couldn't stand @ all, pain was unbearable...but did go to er nxt day.
I also have Rhuerarthitis <.. my feet toes legs,severe cramps,charliehorse.so I ate 2 banannas_is good for cramping_find out,I can't eat bannanas..bc of ibs ;( now spine neck..fibomyliana..since I was 32..
For about the last three years i have not had a normal bowel movement it goes from pencil line movement to a extreme liquid movement. all this is started with a bloating feeling in my upper stomach as if my food is not digesting at all as if it sits in my stomach. this is followed up by Sulfur burps (eggy burps). after about 12 hours comes the extreme pain and cramping and then the diarrhea. and the worse flatulence i have ever heard come out of a human.
I'm a 33 year old female. 3 nights ago, I was woken up by intense stomach pains (right in the bottom/center of my ribs) that felt like they were coming in waves lasting about 3-5 seconds. I was eating Gaviscon tablets all night, which helped for about 25 minutes at a time. I have absolutely NO history of stomach issues or even heartburn. I've been taking Prevacid for 2 days and its helping though I still take Gaviscon liquid in the morning and when I go to bed.
I'm 54 years old. For the past 25 years, I've had acid reflux issues and was on Prevacid or some other type of prescription medicine to help. The acid was starting to cause my throat to get really pink so my E.N.T. highly recommended that I see a specialist to get a Nissen Fundoplication. Which I did. And honestly, it didn't hell all that much. Within the last 3-4 years, I started getting really really bad lower abdominal and intestinal pain from time to time.
He did not feel the need to biopsy when I had my endoscopy done. Bloodtest for that? I will for sure ask! I have been on the Prevacid for almost a year now. Do you think that if I was having some bacterial issues would they not have been present back when I began the Prevacid? or do you mean over an extended period of use? (Curious) I'm wondering why the sudden onset of bm issues or feelings that stay with me even though I go? Been going on now 2 1/2 weeks.
Endoscopy looks at tummy ulcers and irritations of the upper digestive tract. Colonoscopy looks at the lower, which you've already had that test, plus the small bowl series. Some scans can find the ulcers you are looking for, too. But if your tummy or guts had TORN, you'd be unbelievably sick, with a temperature, and in the emergency room.
I think your doc's notation of some gallbladder dysfunction is probably causing the acidity.
I have been plagued with chronic nausea also. Just saw the doctor this morning for second time in two weeks. I had my gallbladder removed about 6 months ago. He is putting me on Reglan because he says he thinks part of my problem is from my intestines not empyting properly, even though I don't seem to have constipation. In fact lately I have diarrhea.
I’ve been on nexium for GERd and esophageal spasms for probably 15 or more years. 8 years ago the gall bladder had to go. Before that I had to take fiber meds to control IBS cramping. Since the surgery and still taking Nexium, I have diarrhea bowel movements a day, for 8 years!!! I’m weak, can’t sleep much, my knee, shoulders, knock, elbows hurt all the time, and I have chronic issues with tendons in my feet. My doctor just acts like there’s nothing he can do and that’s just life.
Hello it is possible that it could be celiac disease, crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, IBS, appendicitis, or the most likely cause is gas. Most people aren't aware that laying on their right side can cause gas to build up in your colon and form a gas bubble.

Have you had a breath test for H. pylori done?
46 is early for colorectal cancer, nausea is not a typical symptom. If pain was from cancer, you'd probably bleed from the intestine. Maybe it's good if you have a hemmocult test for hidden blood in the stool.
For the past 2 months my stools have been on the thinner side; not "pencil thin", but about the diameter of my middle or index finger. They are sometimes long, sometimes broken into smaller pieces, and I would say on the softer side. I usually take on average about 3 of these stools per day. I am not straining to pass them, and for the most part I feel completely evacuated.
where she got sick even on the prevacid. So, we have just taken her for an endocospy and pH probe at Vanderbilt Children's where we have been told she has IBS - Irritible Bowel Syndrome. She is refluxing during the day and it then collects in her esophagus during the night and causes her to be miserably sick as you described above - she throws up twice and then sleeps it off, ready for school by noon if not before.
s omeprazole (Prevacid...) + two or three antibiotics in combination (prescribed by a doctor) that have to be taken for the entire prescribed period.
Hi. I take Prevacid, which is a little pricey, even with insurance. However, there is another one, Aciphex, which was about 30 dollars cheaper. I am back on the Prevacid as the Aciphex didn't work as well ( for me...I was on Prevacid for years and only switched because of the cost...65 dollars). You may want to ask about that. Also, I was told my pharmacist that otc prilosic works well too.
