I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
Hi, my name is Chanel and i've been on my period for about 3 weeks now and i just left the doctor's office. She prescribed premarin to help stop the bleeding but i'm very skeptical about taking it. I looked it up online and the side-effects are very frightening. The last time this happened, I was prescribed vitamin K to stop the bleeding. Can someone please clarify exactly what premarin is and how it is going to stop this bleeding?
The Pedi perscribed her a cream called premarin for me to apply to the affected area 2x a day until I saw that it was getting better then to continue it until it had corrected itself.
Well, I stopped putting the cream on my daughter about month into using it because I had noticed that she was starting to get a lot of peach fuzz in the area. I stopped using the cream but the hair is still there and now sone are turning brown!

I have read and studied that HRT's like premarin have a high risk of dementia and heart disease? since my dad had heart disease and most of his siblings and family have had heart problems I am worried.

I've been bleeding for two months now. This has been a strange type of bleeding aside from the long time period. I started "bleeding" brownish reddish residue. That later turned into black. Then back to brown. Vice Versa. And For the past week have been bleeding red with dark blackish reddish clumps. I have not stopped bleeding for more than 3 hours straight. What is wrong with my body? I had a uterine biospy Friday morning for a thickened endometrium. I also had a vaginal ultrasound. The Doctor did a uterine biopsy in her office. She actually took 3 biopsies. I had this biopsy about 3 years ago for heavy bleeding and it was normal. It hurt then and I spotted some but nothing like this time with the 3 biopsy. It was extremely painful.
My question is that I am still bleeding and it has increased in the amount to that of a light period.
I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. First of all it can be due to metrorrhagia which causes uterine bleeding at irregular intervals, particularly between the expected menstrual periods. Well I have finally been diagnosed with uterine fibroids. Have been with df for 5 years and no babies yet. Just wanted to say hey. I have been on my second shot of Lupron with no success of stopping the excessive bleeding. I was even placed in the ICU for severe anemia because of the bleeding. OB doesn't want to do any surgery because my iron level was at a 3 when i walked into the E.R. everyone was amazed that i was able to walk and talk.
I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
