Avatar n tn I am 21 years old and a pcod patient. I took Deviry 10 mg once a day for 5 days for withdrawl bleeding as prescribed by the doctor. Its been 7 days since I stopped the medicine but still haven't gotten my period. Is there something to worry about?
Avatar n tn t really help you, but they are probably waiting for you to start bleeding cause this means you cervix will be open.
Avatar f tn also recommended hormonal tablet and cream which is Premarin 0.625 and premarin cream for 6 months. Now I want to know whetherr there are any side effects to it and if any, what are they and what can i do? Please let me know, as I am a bit tensed.
Avatar n tn Hi, my name is Chanel and i've been on my period for about 3 weeks now and i just left the doctor's office. She prescribed premarin to help stop the bleeding but i'm very skeptical about taking it. I looked it up online and the side-effects are very frightening. The last time this happened, I was prescribed vitamin K to stop the bleeding. Can someone please clarify exactly what premarin is and how it is going to stop this bleeding?
2176548 tn?1340677817 Yes that is a side effect for sure with the Lupron. Premarin I wasnt on it long enough as it was causing me yeast infections. I will have to do some research on the Medroxy one. Do you know if its a progesterone based drug?
Avatar f tn I finally convinced my gp doctor to check my hormone levels and according to the nurse they came back normal. My gp doctor had already prescribed Premarin for me to take at .3mg. daily. I have not had a hysterectomy. He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes.
Avatar f tn Thank you for responding. I WILL NOT take premarin. luckily I work at a pharmacy and get the pharmicist's opinion on medication.
880900 tn?1467270141 Conjugated estrogen is an estrogen replacement hormone used for the management of menopausal symptoms such as abnormal uterine bleeding (spotting), hot flashes, sweating, and chills. It is also used by women to prevent and treat osteoporosis, in cases where non-estrogen medications have already been considered. It is used to replace estrogen hormones in situations where the body can no longer produce estrogen.
Avatar f tn I've been bleeding for two months now. This has been a strange type of bleeding aside from the long time period. I started "bleeding" brownish reddish residue. That later turned into black. Then back to brown. Vice Versa. And For the past week have been bleeding red with dark blackish reddish clumps. I have not stopped bleeding for more than 3 hours straight. What is wrong with my body? I have been on depo provera for a long time. Would this have anything to do with my issue?
Avatar n tn So he gave me Provera 10mg for 10 days and tells me to stop taking Premarin. Two weeks later I come back for sonogram, and the findings above is what I see on the paperwork, but, the doctor comes in and says.,have you ever had a biopsy of the uterus? I said I don't think so, he says I would like to do one, your uterus is large and we wanna make sure you don't have pc, or uterine cancer?
778044 tn?1299542934 Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.
Avatar f tn Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
Avatar f tn I was placed on Premarin immediately after the surgery. I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Avatar n tn Even after many months of aggressive use of vaginal Premarin, while the vaginal walls texture has thickened & mesh protrusion has almost receded I must wear pads 24/7 for a variety of discharges: pale pink, mucousy blood, bright clotting blood, and a smelly slime of a yellow brown color. The hormones have uncomfortable side effects for me: rapid heart rate, severe headaches at the back of my neck & head, muscle cramping of calves, hands & feet.
Avatar n tn Well I can say from my experience I can't use Premarin because it causes yeast infections for me. I think you can take the pill Diflucan do get rid of the yeast infection but don't be surprised that it is persistent and wont go away. I would call the pharmacy to make sure as I am not a doctor but I know I would use both but I also would ask.
Avatar m tn Unfortunately, LMS can be very aggressive. It is not rare for a woman to experience a recurrence within 6 months of surgery. Cells from the tumor escape and travel in the blood stream. 50% of women with LMS will have metastases to the lungs at the time of diagnosis. Unfortunately, chemotherapy is not very effective for this cancer. Drugs that have been used include: gemzar, taxotere, adriamycin, ifosfamide, taxol. Radiation should be considered to try to control bleeding from the vagina.
691935 tn?1421027090 My doctor has instructed me to stop taking Premarin because of my age of 65 years due to cancer risks. I also learned that by turning 65 (in the U.S.) insurance will no longer cover. As with most women related issues, we don't count. I started Premarin after a total hysterectomy at age 35. Anyway, I'm experiencing heart palpitations, heat ache, body aches, night sweats, and loud ringing in the ears.
Avatar n tn If the premarin cream causes a yeast infection should I stop useing it(the premarin cream) or keep useing it. I read somewhere that you should continue useing it to get rid of the yeast infection. I am a bit confused.
Avatar f tn Will premarin and hrt help with the anxiety that comes along with menopause? I cannot seem to get a straight answer from researching it on the net. I'm desperate for help.
Avatar f tn I'm 58 and have been on the lowest dose of Premarin for over 10 years. In the last few months I have been having a bloody vaginal discharge. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn You had a hyster for an ovarian cyst? Was it cancerous? Was there another reason why they gave you the hyster? Have you had an ultrasound done recently? It is possible to have Ovarian remnant syndrome and a cyst has grown back hence the weight gain however it could be something totally different. Are you having any abdominal issues?
Avatar f tn I hemoriged and they could not stop the bleeding so they gave me a partial hysterectomy, leaving my ovaries still intact. Visiting a Dr. the other day about some concerns about depression and anxiety issues she put me on a small dose of Premarin 0.03 a very low dose. Well I have read some stuff that is good and bad about it! Can anyone share with me anything about this medication.. I will not take it till I am sure it will work!
Avatar n tn The dr can prescribe medications such as megace to control the bleeding if severe for a short time. I have also seen IV Premarin given in the ER for severe bleeding. Just stay away from aspirin or other anticoagulants if they are not prescribed for a medical condition.
Avatar n tn If the TSH is 6 - you are hypothyroid and may need more medication. The need for more meds is likely due to premarin (estrogen binds thyroid hormone and increases the amount of replacement meds needed in many patients). The symptoms are mixed and may be more menopausal than thyroid.
Avatar f tn Thanks for responding. I have been on HRT, that's why I am seeking something alternative. HRT made me crazy..even on the lowest dosage. I foun d one bioidentical online that actually contained MSG as an ingredient and I am horribly sensitive to that, gives me migraines, which is also one of the lovely s/e of menopause. I will look up a reproducitve endocrinologist..thanks, didn't know where to turn!
Avatar f tn Hello: hoping somebody can help me. I have been on Premarin.625mg for 7 months and did very well. Before that, I had tried everything else with very little improvement. Before Premarin I was having hot flashes, anxiety, and terrible insomnia. After the first few days of taking Premarin, I began to notice great improvement. My hot flashes went away and insomnia disappeared. I had a few bumps along the way but then everything balanced out. Now, the old symptoms have returned with a vengeance.
