Hi, my name is Chanel and i've been on my period for about 3 weeks now and i just left the doctor's office. She prescribed premarin to help stop the bleeding but i'm very skeptical about taking it. I looked it up online and the side-effects are very frightening. The last time this happened, I was prescribed vitamin K to stop the bleeding. Can someone please clarify exactly what premarin is and how it is going to stop this bleeding?
The Pedi perscribed her a cream called premarin for me to apply to the affected area 2x a day until I saw that it was getting better then to continue it until it had corrected itself.
Well, I stopped putting the cream on my daughter about month into using it because I had noticed that she was starting to get a lot of peach fuzz in the area. I stopped using the cream but the hair is still there and now sone are turning brown!
I finally convinced my gp doctor to check my hormone levels and according to the nurse they came back normal. My gp doctor had already prescribed Premarin for me to take at .3mg. daily. I have not had a hysterectomy. He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes.
I've been bleeding for two months now. This has been a strange type of bleeding aside from the long time period. I started "bleeding" brownish reddish residue. That later turned into black. Then back to brown. Vice Versa. And For the past week have been bleeding red with dark blackish reddish clumps. I have not stopped bleeding for more than 3 hours straight. What is wrong with my body? I have been on depo provera for a long time. Would this have anything to do with my issue?
I am receiving conflicting information regarding treatment for hrt. I have a uterus in tact I was prescribed combined hrt progesterone and estrogen estarlis patches. Then I went to another gyno who said that recent studies have proved that estrogen only with uterus in tact is safer that in fact it's the progesterone that is toxic.
Is anyone receiving the same advice?
Other causes of brownish discharge are hypothyroidism, cervical dysplasia, cervical polyps, cervicits (inflammation of cervix), vulvovaginitis (inflammation of vulva and vagina), cervical and uterine cancer, uterine fibroids, hormonal imbalance, genital ulcers, STDs and stress. You can discuss these possibilities with your gynecologist as on net and without examining it is difficult to give a confirmed opinion. A PAP smear and a STD panel must be done too along with a pregnancy test. Take care!
Upon the third week I had a bleeding that was bright red and it lasted for 12weeks plus. I was told by my GP that the bleeding could have been as a result of the DEPO. He suggested that I have a scanned done and everything appeared normal on the scan. The bleeding ended with the help of the combine pill and since then I have been having regular periods. About a month ago I started encountering sever abdominal pain and was immediately admitted to the hospital.
Do I need to continue taking Premarin .0625 or can I discontinue since I am past meopause age.
I had a uterine biospy Friday morning for a thickened endometrium. I also had a vaginal ultrasound. The Doctor did a uterine biopsy in her office. She actually took 3 biopsies. I had this biopsy about 3 years ago for heavy bleeding and it was normal. It hurt then and I spotted some but nothing like this time with the 3 biopsy. It was extremely painful.
My question is that I am still bleeding and it has increased in the amount to that of a light period.
I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
