I was diagnosed for missed abortion last May 17,2008 (as seen in the Ultrasound,the baby has no heart beat) i was administered a premarin 0.62 mg every 6 hours, the doctor said to soften the cervix as well as cytotec 200 mg every 8 hours. I was wondering why i should be given premarin? I have read that premarin is mainly estrogen.. Do i need to continuously use this product? They are waiting for me to bleed for them to be able to perform the D&C. Please advise asap...
Hi, my name is Chanel and i've been on my period for about 3 weeks now and i just left the doctor's office. She prescribed premarin to help stop the bleeding but i'm very skeptical about taking it. I looked it up online and the side-effects are very frightening. The last time this happened, I was prescribed vitamin K to stop the bleeding. Can someone please clarify exactly what premarin is and how it is going to stop this bleeding?
He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes. All of which I thought was monopause. I don't know what to do. I am so scared and confused. I had an echocardigram done and the cardiologist said there were some abnormalities.
So she told me to have a Premarin 0.625MG and deviry 10MG. Premarin should take from 5th Day till 25st Day and Deviry from 19th till 25th .. After three month the size of uterus has not increased much so Dr suggested us to have 2 Premarin . But she is not having her period from last three Months.
Could you please suggest whether she took Deviry 10Mg to get her period back..

I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy soon. The doctor wants to take my ovaries. My mom and both of her sisters have had hysterectomy's. My mother and 1 aunt had early onset of Alzheimers. both took premarin. I have read and studied that HRT's like premarin have a high risk of dementia and heart disease? since my dad had heart disease and most of his siblings and family have had heart problems I am worried.
I have Endometrosis and also prolapsed Uteris.
That later turned into black. Then back to brown. Vice Versa. And For the past week have been bleeding red with dark blackish reddish clumps. I have not stopped bleeding for more than 3 hours straight. What is wrong with my body? I have been on depo provera for a long time. Would this have anything to do with my issue?

I became so estrogen dominant and became a total mess. I went to a very good hormone imbalance seminar a few days ago and it was great. I think if you went off, you'll regret it in time. The pain got much worse and I was not feeling myself so I stopped taking the premerin and opted to try a product I found on line called Amberen, so far that isnt doinganything for the hot flashes and night sweats at all but since stopping the premarin my legs are not bothering. I am taking calcium pills for my bones but I am truly worried for my health and want to find the best options for me.
I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). OK, so I went to the doctor because I initially had discharge (lasted a day or two) and itching (alot of itching) and a few small bumps on my labia mostly and vaginal area. The doctor did a culture and blood test. The blood test came back positive for herpes (1 and 2 I believe) the culture came back negative. The doctor gave me premarin cream....which wasn't working.
I suffer from Hashimotos autoimmune disease for many years and was diagnosed last year with Lupus after suffering many years with leukopenia which was caused by the Lupus or the Premarin. I took myself off of Premarin in July 2016 and I feel so much better. My hair is now growing back after losing about 3/4 of it during a Lupus flare-up that lasted over 7 months. My muscle aches are gone and my blood counts are now registering normal.
Can I use Premarin cream along with a yeast medication(Diflucan)? Does the moisture in the Premarin cream keep a yeast infection from healing?
My mom had TAH and after 6 months she started getting a pale pink discharge. The doctors said she had fibroid which became cancerous so they had to perform the hysterectomy, something called lyeomyosarcoma. The doctor checked her in the clinic after 6 months and she had a blood clot the size of a fist that came out straight after the doctors examination. Looked like a dark jelly. The doctors said its a growth again.
It seems odd to follow fibroid surgery with estrogen HRT (premarin and estrone are both types of estrogen) since estrogen causes fibroids to grow...
You should call your doctor and ask when your period should start.
I'm surprised your doctor did not tell you to use protection (condom, diaphragm) until you are ready to get pregnant since Premarin does not prevent pregnancy...

I'm 58 and have been on the lowest dose of Premarin for over 10 years. In the last few months I have been having a bloody vaginal discharge. Should I be worried?
You had a hyster for an ovarian cyst? Was it cancerous? Was there another reason why they gave you the hyster? Have you had an ultrasound done recently? It is possible to have Ovarian remnant syndrome and a cyst has grown back hence the weight gain however it could be something totally different. Are you having any abdominal issues?
