Avatar n tn Mind you its not a major issue, but I am concerned about permanently damaging my lungs. The question I have is, would it be ok to go back to my normal workout routine (Crossfit, i.e. high intensity aerobic workouts) or will I possibly wreck my lungs? How long should i wait? Anyone else had this issue? The strange thing is my symptoms were SO mild but my chest is still experiencing tightness 1 month later (after my 2nd infection).
Avatar m tn ve been doing bootcamp/crossfit classes for an average of 5-6 days a week. Each week consisted of 3 weightlifting classes and 2 cardio classes, interchanging each day. And for the record I realized that I wasn't hydrating myself enough while I was working out, especially before and after the workout. The only time I would really drink enough water was when I was doing the actual workout. However, I took notice of this and I now drink at least 6-8 cups of water per day.
Avatar f tn I workout for 2 hours, 3 days a week. I run a mile and do conditioning. But somehow, I'm GAINING weight! I need some help. And I've been eating pretty healthy too!
Avatar m tn Hi, whey protein is just dried milk without the calcium caseinate, lactose, and fat... plain and simple. It's best to use whey protein only for pre-and-post workout nutrition. You're really better off getting the rest of your protein from real food. Drink it 30-45 minutes before working out. For post-workout nutrition it gets a little trickier because the mixture depends on your goals. The post-workout shake is made from skim milk, whey protein.
Avatar f tn m still able to drink caffeine and energy drinks I also go to the gym and do crossfit training am I still able to do that
Avatar n tn m having pain on the outside of my quads, which I only feel when i get up, or do certain exercises, like squats. The pain is similar to pain you get from a good workout, but its all of the time and is definitely been causing some weakness in my legs. I've been diagnosed with the following, but they say this is not the cause of the pain: L5/S1 disc bulge, a very mild and broad based disc bulge just barely touching the traversing S1 nerve root. Doctors do not seem to have any idea.
Avatar m tn In fact I am doing Crossfit 4-5 days a week because I wanted to take my workout to the next level. I think it has a lot to do with all the decondioning that tx and HCV can cause. Best of luck to you too. Its funny how only now do I truly understand the profound meaning behind "health is wealth".
Avatar f tn I am a 26 year old female and in excellent health. I have always been very active. I started having PVCs infrequently about 6 or 7 years ago, mostly stress-induced. My doctor said it was nothing to worry about, and I've ignored them. However, within the past two or three months, I've been getting them after particularly vigorous workouts. I'm heavily involved in a sport called Crossfit, which is very high intensity.
Avatar m tn t do it regularly, try to at least go for a jog around your block once or twice a week or do workout videos (like the well-known P90X videos) that are quick to whip you into shape at home. As for meal plans, combining complex carbs and protein is your best bet for gaining muscle.
Avatar m tn I am a 38 year-old female, I work as a fitness trainer and yoga instructor and am in very good physical condition. I started doing Crossfit (high-intensity aerobic exercise) about 2 months ago. Today, a couple of minutes after completing a high-intensity workout of rowing, jumping and running, I experienced intense pressure in my chest that took several minutes to go away. The intensity of the pressure was constant; it didn't change with inhalation or exhalation.
Avatar f tn I'm 5'4", 33 year old female, active in weight lifting/ cardio since 2007 and a crossfit athlete for 10 months ago. I was eating approx 1000-1300 cal for the past 2.5 years. As a result, I lost the fat I was hoping to but consequently developed hypothyroidism and amenorrhea. This august, I made an effort to correct the metabolic disturbances under the direction of a registered dietician. I increased my caloric intake to 1600 cal/day.
Avatar f tn (Impatience is a big flaw of mine) Should I do less of weight trainings? ( i train crossfit 5x a week). Do I need green coffee or something like that? Is it a bat thing if I eat less than I'm supposed to? Every advice is gracefully accepted!
Avatar f tn The other day (approximately 3 days ago) I was working out at my crossfit gym. I got off the rowing machine from a somewhat intense rowing session. I felt fine but then as I sat down, I started to get dizzy. My vision completely blurred, I couldn't see straight or even make out faces. In addition, my lips and finger nails turned blue, my face completely pale, I had trouble breathing, and my hands numb.
3076954 tn?1341178735 I participated in a "novice" weightlifting competition at a Crossfit gym. After doing a "max lift". Where you lift until you are unable I began having headaches, followed by mild stroke symptoms and then more serious stroke symptoms. Hospitalizing me for 3 weeks. Is this indeed caused by the overlifting of the extreme weight? Will I ever be able to work out again? I used to change my oil, paint my house, carry heavy objects, workout 6 days/week (which I really miss).
Avatar m tn hello i was diagnosed with MS in 2009 and now im doing crossfit, but when i run its cool but once im finished my feet swell up a lot under my feet is like a ball that prohibits me from even steping on the ground, and the pain is very horrible. the coach said it might be my shoes that they might be too tight but ive played soccer all my life and soccer shoes have to be very tight!! now this started happening about 4 months till now. basically what i want to know is..
897494 tn?1267476064 rest, then I move on to more weights, and leg press, then to the treadmill for another 20 min interval cardio workout, using the same time routine as the eliptical workout. Is this going to get me where I want to be, I need to loose 20 lbs, and I am 28 yrs old, I have the nutrition part of it down for the most part. I just need to know in what order and what type of cardio I shoud be doing?
Avatar f tn I really feel motivated to exercise and workout the muscles that haven't been used in probably 8 years. lol! Back when I was 14-17 I would join my father in the gym, but his trainer gave me different things to do to just be fit and toned. I do have some equipment at my house and my husband works crazy hours so we can't just go to a gym. Plus, I would like to look semi-decent to be able to even show up at a gym. (Yea, I've let myself go that bad.
Avatar f tn Excerpt from the article Rhabdo and CrossFit (Rhabdo is short for Rhabdomyolysis)... "If you feel terrible after a workout, then the next day extreme swelling and soreness starts, and then you start peeing brown urine—you have rhabdo. Go to the ER immediately. This is no joke. It can be fatal if not treated. Rhabdo happens when your muscles break down to the point that muscle tissue enters your bloodstream. Your kidneys can’t handle this. They freak out and eventually shut down.
Avatar n tn Working out is fine!! Unless your doc says other wise. I worked out very hard before this pregnancy! However I have had to tone it down a little. I still lift light weights and have had to reach out and try some new things because I was finding the old exercises hard to do. I joined Pilates, because I clearly couldn't spend so much time on my abdominals! And I found it helped a lot for back aches and si pain. Cardio is a lot harder to do pregnant!
Avatar f tn You really have to judge how your body reacts to the meds once you're on them. With that being said..., I've done many, many treatments. My first years at various treatments, I gave in to the tiredness, fatigue and was basically a couch potato, moving from bed to couch, etc. I didn't clear. I didn't clear the virus on any of my attempts at treatments until this 11th time with the Sovaldi, Peg and Riba x 12 wks.

Avatar f tn Eat controlled amounts of carbs like small amounts of potatoes, but try even to change potatoes often to root vegetables with more nutrition, such as parsnips, beets, turnips. Instead of rice, which has little nutrition, try making quinoa. Whatever food you tend to binge on is probably a food your body turns straight to fat. Change is good. Colorful foods are good. Absolutely no soda, especially not diet. When you crave sweet, don't use artificial sweetners; try agave nectar.
Avatar f tn I'm 14 years old and do Crossfit everyday. Crossfit is intense training and working out, which I began in June of last year. In October, I had my first period, and had another in December, but haven't had it since. It's going to be 7 months without getting it, and I'm starting to get nervous. Why has it been so long, and should I go see a specialist? I'm not over weight nor am I big, I weigh 100 pounds and very muscular. Answers?
Avatar m tn I worked out a lot - Crossfit 5-6 times a week + a little running - and wasn't great about stretching. My hip flexibility was not good and I was sore all the time. I have also been studying a lot - 10 hours a day - and my stress level from November through February was higher than normal. I am just wondering what I should do about my situation? I want to be healthy again and resume my normal lifestyle.
Avatar f tn What is a good pre/post- workout supplement? I am looking to tone and slim down. I haven't really seen any results at the gym since January.
