Neither of these drugs are supposed to cause weight gain either. Phentermine is a stimulant/appetite suppressant. I am going to try liposage slim wrap this week and see if that helps.
You make a great point that weight loss medication like phentermine is not a long term weight loss solution. If you do go back to old habits, you might expect to gain back the weight that you lost. But the good news is that you're in a good starting place and you are still motivated to keep it going. Good luck!

d never recommend phentermine, even though it does work for weight loss. The problem is that when people stop taking it, they almost always gain back everything they lost, plus some.
If you were my patient, I would advise you that phentermine should not affect your depo shot. Depo is notoriously bad for causing weight gain.
Just something to consider.

I would never recommend Phentermine because it can be dangerous AND even though you might lose weight on it, you will most likely gain it back once you go off the med. My new son-in-law and my daughter have done it.......my SIL continues and IS losing weight. Unfortunately, daughter lost weight on it just long enough to get through her wedding in Sept then quit --- guess what?? She's gained back all + some.......
B12 shots should give you energy, but they are not a weight loss drug.
After my son was born i weighed 180 pounds.I recently started taking phentermine for weight loss but i read that i can gain the weight back because my body will try to gain its normal weight back. My question is will my body feel safe at 140 pounds or will it try to recover the 180 pounds i had weighed?Also i would like to know if there is any chance of me gaining weight while taking phentermine? I follow a low carb diet but i have not seen fast results.
Weight gain/inability to lose is a common hypothyroid symptom. It's very possible that once you get your thyroid levels in control, you won't need the phentermine. Actually, a healthy diet and adequate exercise should take its place, anyway, since most people who take weight loss drugs, regain the weight as soon as they get off the drugs.
Levothyroxine should be taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, with a full cup of water.
I was having much difficulty losing weight so I went to a Weight Loss Clinic, where they perscribed phentermine, hydrochlorthiazide and a fiber pill with calcium. I was wondering how dangerous this is and if I could/should stop my antidressant/anxiety medications abruptly or ween myself of them while I am on the weight loss pills.
Late night snacking and poor sleep too can cause weight gain. Polycystic ovary too causes weight gain, hence has to be ruled out by an ultrasound of abdomen. Certain medications like antidepressants cause weight gain.
If all these causes are ruled out then you can start a diet and exercise program to lose weight. If you want to lose weight, then you must do it the scientific way for long term benefits, healthy glow, and a good physique and body.

because, although you may lose weight on the phentermine, chances are great that you will gain it all back as soon as you stop the drug. I, too, would be hesitant to take a drug like that if I were just coming down from addictions like you are.
It sounds like you are eating to keep yourself busy --- where you would normally smoke a cigarette, you are satisfying that "hand to mouth" impulse with food.
I was bulemic in junior high and all through high school, but I'm 32 years old now and haven't really had an issue with it since then - even while gaining 60 pounds with my PCOS in my twenties. I just had to make peace with my body - but I know it's NOT easy by ANY MEANS!
I'm assuming you are not breastfeeding? My advice is that you need to seek help for your bulemia before you seek help for your weight gain. I wouldn't rely on any drugs to lose the weight for me.
Before I gained all that weight I never had a problem. Since the weight gain, I finally stopped eating a bad diet and began to eat healthy again. For the past two years I have been eating really healthy and working out practically everyday, but the weight would not come off. I then started trying all kind of weight loss programs, like nutrisytem and weight watchers, but I still got no results.
