Phentermine weight gain

Common Questions and Answers about Phentermine weight gain

phentermine

Avatar f tn Neither of these drugs are supposed to cause weight gain either. Phentermine is a stimulant/appetite suppressant. I am going to try liposage slim wrap this week and see if that helps.
Avatar m tn You make a great point that weight loss medication like phentermine is not a long term weight loss solution. If you do go back to old habits, you might expect to gain back the weight that you lost. But the good news is that you're in a good starting place and you are still motivated to keep it going. Good luck! Dr. B www.theflexdiet.
927140 tn?1244210051 Did you start taking the phentermine? How did you react to it in combination with the synthroid? I have been on phentermine for a little over a month because I had problems shedding post-partum weight, but then found out that I also have hypothyroidism and was prescribed with Levothyroxine (by the same doctor and kept me on phentermine). I was overwhelmed when my pharmacy printed out a long *WARNING OF DRUG INTERACTION* sheet telling me of all the possible side effects etc...
Avatar f tn d never recommend phentermine, even though it does work for weight loss. The problem is that when people stop taking it, they almost always gain back everything they lost, plus some.
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would advise you that phentermine should not affect your depo shot. Depo is notoriously bad for causing weight gain. Just something to consider. Good luck!
Avatar f tn You shouldn't gain weight on Phentermine takes longer though than didrex and Phentermine the Houston and didrex quickly drop weight off easily fast and is a pleasure not work sadness struggle and difficulty if your husband or boyfriend brings food into the house but you don't want in the house try just throwing into the trash is usually a male involved who is jealous of the female companion and wants to cause the female to keep the weight on or gain the weight and the man will go to any
Avatar f tn I would never recommend Phentermine because it can be dangerous AND even though you might lose weight on it, you will most likely gain it back once you go off the med. My new son-in-law and my daughter have done it.......my SIL continues and IS losing weight. Unfortunately, daughter lost weight on it just long enough to get through her wedding in Sept then quit --- guess what?? She's gained back all + some....... B12 shots should give you energy, but they are not a weight loss drug.
Avatar f tn My doctors suggest that I take Phentermine but im taking levothyroxine 88mg and Cytomel 5mg due to thyroidectomy 3 years ago and I have gain weight due to hypothyroidism. Have anyone tried the phentermine while on levothyroxine and Cytomel?
20813548 tn?1519654796 I am within my first week of taking phentermine. Will the cheat tightening and sleeplessness ease up in the next week or two? I am on the lowest dose, 15mg.
Avatar f tn t seem to loose my baby weight gain after having my son 15 months ago.... I want to start taking diet pill Phentermine (30 mg) 1x a day but I'm also going to be taking synthroid 100 mg 1x day is that safe?
410475 tn?1262942367 As soon as you stop taking them, you will gain all the weight back. Better to be overweight, then hyped up on speed.

397118 tn?1219762250 Hi everyone, I know I have ask you guys about the sub, Trileptal and Lexapro making you gain weight so I ask my psyc. about it and he looked in his little book and said that it is not reported to really increase appetite but there are studies that say that lexapro does but he also said but the pill dosen't weigh 10 pounds so I think you will be ok.
Avatar f tn I think its something else the diet pill is phentermine, I have a problem gaining weight because of not having a thyroid. I dont even eat that much and still gain weight. I hope you can give me some answers.
Avatar f tn After my son was born i weighed 180 pounds.I recently started taking phentermine for weight loss but i read that i can gain the weight back because my body will try to gain its normal weight back. My question is will my body feel safe at 140 pounds or will it try to recover the 180 pounds i had weighed? Also i would like to know if there is any chance of me gaining weight while taking phentermine? I follow a low carb diet but i have not seen fast results.
Avatar f tn Weight gain/inability to lose is a common hypothyroid symptom. It's very possible that once you get your thyroid levels in control, you won't need the phentermine. Actually, a healthy diet and adequate exercise should take its place, anyway, since most people who take weight loss drugs, regain the weight as soon as they get off the drugs. Levothyroxine should be taken first thing in the morning on an empty stomach, with a full cup of water.
1460292 tn?1285764089 In turn, losing muscle decreases your resting metabolic rate making you gain more weight back again later... This could be dangerous. Please get your body fat % measured and also take into account your skeletal muscle part.
Avatar f tn Another thought is that weight gain among adults with adhd is common due to (they think) lack of impulse control. If the Vyvanse can control this the Contrave might not be needed? This is why I kind of assume the prescriptions were from two different doctors. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn I was having much difficulty losing weight so I went to a Weight Loss Clinic, where they perscribed phentermine, hydrochlorthiazide and a fiber pill with calcium. I was wondering how dangerous this is and if I could/should stop my antidressant/anxiety medications abruptly or ween myself of them while I am on the weight loss pills.
Avatar f tn Late night snacking and poor sleep too can cause weight gain. Polycystic ovary too causes weight gain, hence has to be ruled out by an ultrasound of abdomen. Certain medications like antidepressants cause weight gain. If all these causes are ruled out then you can start a diet and exercise program to lose weight. If you want to lose weight, then you must do it the scientific way for long term benefits, healthy glow, and a good physique and body.
Avatar n tn Please please suggest a good physician in Tucson Arizona able to write prescription 4 d i d r e x and Phentermine I don't abused these medicines I need them is the only way I lose weight
579324 tn?1276054274 I too am considering using Phentermine to lose some weight. My Primary wants permission in writing from my Endo but all he will write is that there is no contra-indication. I'm in the process of seeing where that will go. My eyes bulge, one is alot worse than the other which makes me feel rather unhuman but I've gotten somewhat used to it by now. I have trouble making eye contact with other people and try to avoid unnecessary conversations at all costs.
1090984 tn?1463769850 I am severely depressed, my doctor recommended Effexor but my friends said I should try Zoloft. I have gained a lot of weight since my last baby 4 years ago and keep gaining. I am not taking anything but so sad and depressed and keep getting fatter, I cry all the time, I go to bed at 7 and just watch TV, I am tired a lot, my body hurts all the time. But I need to be on something, I just cant get out of this sadness. I was on paxil years ago and gained 25 pounds within months.
Avatar m tn because, although you may lose weight on the phentermine, chances are great that you will gain it all back as soon as you stop the drug. I, too, would be hesitant to take a drug like that if I were just coming down from addictions like you are. It sounds like you are eating to keep yourself busy --- where you would normally smoke a cigarette, you are satisfying that "hand to mouth" impulse with food.
Avatar f tn I was bulemic in junior high and all through high school, but I'm 32 years old now and haven't really had an issue with it since then - even while gaining 60 pounds with my PCOS in my twenties. I just had to make peace with my body - but I know it's NOT easy by ANY MEANS! I'm assuming you are not breastfeeding? My advice is that you need to seek help for your bulemia before you seek help for your weight gain. I wouldn't rely on any drugs to lose the weight for me.
Avatar f tn Before I gained all that weight I never had a problem. Since the weight gain, I finally stopped eating a bad diet and began to eat healthy again. For the past two years I have been eating really healthy and working out practically everyday, but the weight would not come off. I then started trying all kind of weight loss programs, like nutrisytem and weight watchers, but I still got no results.
