I decided to go back and see a different doctor and she perscribed me paxil for anxiety and xanax .5mg to help me sleep if I need it. I have trouble sleepings but after reading about xanax im not sure if I want to start taking it. I started te paxil yesterday and took 1 xanax last night and felt great but still did not fall asleep until about 5:30am. Took the xanax around 8:30pm.

I read up about both but am wondering if weight gain is a problem with zoloft. As for paxil i gained over 25 pounds and now Im trying to lose it and it sure isnt easy. I found out you don't take zoloft at night but paxil you do. I have got to lose this weight.

Hello! I am currently going thru a detox of Paxil, hydros, nicotine, and while I was at it I stopped the marijuana. I am a wreck! It's been about 10-13 days I've stopped the Paxil - I did so with the help of my doc from 40mg gradually down to 10. I am completely off the med currently. I started taking it approx 5 years ago It's been about 3-4 days since I've stopped the hydros. I started those about the same time as the Paxil. Problem being off these is I NEED them for pain.

So I went to my doctor and asked for wellbutrin hopeing I could lose weight and quit sleeping all the time on the paxil. But it has been 2 weeks now and my period started 2 days into it I am crying , feel like pukeing. Will this help me???

I went to ER and to cut along story short everything came back negative except the Doctor said I suffered a very high anxiety and panic attack. He suggests me to quit smoming and vaping so i did cold turkey. And thats when the worst part started. Has anyone tried getting off Paxil slowly? I have gone from 20 mg to 15 to 10 and have now started 5 mg. This has taken me a year. I am now noticing that my anxiety is returning now that I am down to 5 mg. Has anyone gotten through this?

tomorrow and i want to stay on effexor and klonopin. paxil scares me. eventually maybe in 6 mos i will be healthy and past smoking and i dont want to be stuck on meds for years. had dep 7 yrs ago but not panic attacks. am drinking lots of water.

I also take Paxil for a sleep disorder (depression-related insomnia) and have for 11+ years. I have COPD with chronic bronchitis but the phlegm has gotten so thick and I cough so much I am afraid I am getting emphysema and I HAVE to QUIT SMOKING. I am 23 years old and currently on Paxil 20mg a day for depression, OCD, and anxiety/panic disorder. I have always had a problem with anxiety...but the depression has been in the past three years and the OCD more recently. I am about to finish my first month of the medicine and then I am supposed to up to 30mg a day since the anxiety is not getting any better. In the past month I have found that I have a HUGE desire to drink. ALL DAY LONG. I have NEVER been a big drinker....

I just found this, and I wanted to make a comment on the chance there are anxiety sufferers who are also being treated for breast cancer. It make be a well know issue now, but when my wife began Tamoxifen treatment following her breast cancer surgery and radiation, I saw an article on TV regarding drug interaction between Paxil and Tamoxifen. We immediately mentioned it to my wife's oncologist, and he initially dismissed it and told my wife to continue to take the two drugs as prescribed.
