Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be very painful - however with everything else going on have they suggested any treatment for you? I would recommend making an appt with your doctor or even a second opinion to see what all is going on. In the meantime, one thing you can do is start keeping a journal of al of your symptoms. Be as specific as possible about what cycle day you are on, pain level, what the pain feels like, how long it lasts and what you do/take for it, and where the pain is.

Avatar n tn the pain starts 2 days after my ovulation nd lasts up to to 1 week,it occurs about 4 times a day nd lasts for maybe 10 to 15 minutes before subsiding,nd it occurs mostly at night, its been going on for some years. .I'm 37 but yet to av kids of my own,I take fertility drugs a lot, though the infertility is male factor.
Avatar f tn seems like it could be where my ovary is. Years ago, I had ovarian cysts that ruptured on my right ovary, and have since been on the pill to try to avoid the painful cysts. But for the past 4 months or so, I have very sudden, shooting/stabbing pains on my lower right side. It's always sitting down, and always completely out of the blue. It lasts for 5-10 seconds, and then completely subsides. Could this be related to an ovarian cyst? I don't know what to do.

Avatar f tn I have just come off my period and i am getting a really sharp lower stomach pain. I can stand up or move when it comes and it lasts for about 5 mins on and off. Has anyone had this before? It's really painful, kinda catches my breath. Thankyou.
Avatar f tn The pain has been much worse than previous ruptured cysts and has lasted longer. Usually, my peak pain lasts a few days. This time, a week later, I pretty much feel like I did day one. I have also found that night time is especially bad for me and that I have pain that radiates from my pelvic bone all the way to underneath my ribs. Walking is difficult and seems to make the pain worse.
136986 tn?1232399830 I'm 16 and have been getting ovarian cysts since I was 13. I was rushed to the E.R when they thought I had appendicitis, but it was a cyst. I get numerous cysts each month, most of them burst which cause a great deal of pain. Lately my bowels have been weird. There's a lot of rumbling in my stomach, and I can feel everything moving around. I go a lot, but its normal. I've been on the gassy side too. Yesterday my stomach was killing in my pelvic area, to the right of my left hip.
1175033 tn?1492201228 Wow it was day and night for me. The pain from your bladder is so similar to pain like an ovarian cyst. Trust me I know. But My cysts also cause bladder irritation. If you have endometriosis sp? it can actually grow on your bladder. It also Killed me to have sex. I mean really painfull. I dont know I am not a doctor, I know doctors are expensive and can give you the run around. My advice is to tackle each thing one at a time! Good Luck!
Avatar f tn Hi, I am 44 & had an Endometrial Ablation & tubal ligation when I was 27. Pre-op, I had menstruals that lasted for months (my last period lasted 62 days); constant lethargy; hair loss; dark circles under eyes. Saw my ob 16x in 10 mos (full exam) & he continued to switch my birth control as he advised that I needed more hormones.
1577584 tn?1296185081 I am 22 years old and every time I have sex with my bf the cyst(I was told) leaks and causes pain when I urinate and have a bowel movement and the pain lasts for days? I don't know what to do. What is the cyst leaking and why does it hurt when I pee and poop? I dont have a UTI or nothing like that and I dont have digestive problems so this pain is being caused by the cyst.
Avatar f tn I dont know what to do about the ovarain cysts. Is there a treatment for it? if yes than how can i get that done. Does ovarian cysts prevent you from having a baby or stops you from conceiving? please help me and reply back to me.
Avatar m tn Hi, No pain during the period which always lasts for 7 days , 3 days heavy bleeding and next 2 days normal , exactly after 15 days lower abdominal pain starts .... sharp or aching pain that comes and goes for 2 days . I never had sex so far , I am suffering with this since 2 years.
Avatar f tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.
Avatar f tn This will give them a good view of your ovary and any cysts that you may have. Please rest assured that ovarian cysts and cancer have most of the same symptoms. 95% of ovarian cysts are non cancerous. It is common to have pain during exercise, sex, and sitting for long periods of time when you have an ovarian cyst. Please keep us updated on how you are doing.
3100626 tn?1341387176 Could this pain be cysts. In so much pain really getting scared my mom died.
Avatar n tn I have intermittent abdominal pain, but when I have it, it is severe. It usually lasts for 7 - 10 days and then goes away for about 3 weeks. I had an ultrasound and the only thing it showed was three fibroid cysts and my doctor said that they were not big enough to cause the pain. I have a history of breast cancer and had my ovaries removed about five years ago. The ultra sound also showed free pelvic fluid. My doctor has ordered a CT scan of the abdomen and pelvis.
Avatar f tn I have been to the ER where I was told it was from ovarian cysts (they burst on there own and the pain continued). I have been to my primary Doctor where I was diagnosed with IBS and was given prescriptions to help with the pain (Didn't work). I have also been to a specialist (gastro) who only told me to see a therapist to deal with the pain. It's gotten to the point where I don't even see a point in going to the doctors anymore for it.
1284894 tn?1272171454 I have been looking everywhere to find out how long the pain and discomfort lasts. I was told ruptured cysts happen all of the time, take ibuprofen, follow up later with your gynocologist. While I feel somewhat better, I'm still in a fair amount of pain and my abdomen is distended. This was really scary for me as I had no idea what was going on and there is very little info around for what to expect after it happens. Thank you to both of you for sharing!
Avatar f tn 50 % of the time before the pelvic pain I get a sharp shooting pain in my rectum (nerve pain?) it lasts only 15 seconds or so and is followed by immediate pelvic pain and pressure. The other 50% of the time my rectum will just feel tender during my pelvic episode. The pain varies sometimes mild and sometimes severe. The intense pain last for about a half hour to an hour and gradually gets better leaving my pelvic area tender for the rest of the day.
Avatar f tn It could be hormonal (ovarian cysts maybe?), the IUD could have moved...it could be a few things, your health care provider cna do an exam and tests if needed.
Avatar f tn can a small cyst cause pain on a daily basis, walking, sitting etc? Is high iron and cysts related or are these two separate issues? I go to see my endometriosis specialist next week and I am hoping for some answers however if anyone can think of questions I should be asking or if you have gone through anything similar I would appreciate hearing from you. Any help is appreciated. :-) Thank you.
Avatar f tn Watery discharge along with abdominal cramps post ovulation can be a sign of conception. If the pain is prolonged and lasts more than two days it could indicate another medical condition which needs to diagnosed by a medical doctor. Conditions like endometriosis, chronic pelvic inflammatory disease, salpingitis, ovarian cysts, fibroids, intestinal problems and gastric problems due to inflammation all can give rise to abdominal pain.
Avatar f tn The surgery is simple there is little pain after depending on how much pain u can take.. I really hope i can get prego after this surgery. Goodluck to you..
136986 tn?1232399830 Am I too young to be getting Ovarian cysts? I get a LOT of them. I was diagnosed with them when I was 13 (they thought I had appendicitis, but it was cysts). I know doctors say most women get them, but can't feel them, but I can. And it doesn't matter when in my cycle, they come in between and during my period. A lot of them grow rather large, which is why I can feel them, and almost ALL of them burst. And the pain is excruciating.
Avatar n tn There are more than one flavor of ovarian cysts and some are more cause for concern than the usual ones that occur due to what I think of as a misfired egg. I've had plenty of those along with hemorrhagic and chocolate cysts from endometriosis. Those tend to not rupture on their own and surgery usually is only considered after the size has been tracked for a few months and it gets so large that it causes more symptoms or interferes with fertility. Ain't it great to be a woman?!
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts are extremely common - so do not worry. However, they can also be extremely painful and can grow extremely large. Each month, when a woman ovulates, small follicles form on the outer part of the ovary. These follicles look like little marbles almost through an ultrasound. Now, during your period - these follicles are, keyword here 'supposed' to break free with the lining of your period but for some women, they do not.
