Common Questions and Answers about Ovarian cysts groin pain

ovarian-cysts

Avatar f tn seems like it could be where my ovary is. Years ago, I had ovarian cysts that ruptured on my right ovary, and have since been on the pill to try to avoid the painful cysts. But for the past 4 months or so, I have very sudden, shooting/stabbing pains on my lower right side. It's always sitting down, and always completely out of the blue. It lasts for 5-10 seconds, and then completely subsides. Could this be related to an ovarian cyst? I don't know what to do.

Avatar n tn Nope ovarian cysts don't cause back pain. I had ovarian cysts and most of my pain was where the ovaries were.
Avatar f tn Does anyone get radiating pain from ovarian cyst. I had pain wher my ovary was and it also radiated up higher. I thought something was wrong with me but had a ct scan and all they found was a 4.5cm x 4.5cm cyst on ovary. The doctor says pain radiates. Who else gets pain in other areas around the ovaries. I keep freaking out.
Avatar f tn Inflammation or infection of the large intestine can at times be responsible for groin pain as can ovarian cysts. Spinal structure issues can also cause hip or groin pain as can a lingering kidney stone(s). The list is long. I initially had groin and hip pain when I first developed chronic pain that was later diagnosed as SIJ (sacroiliac joint) Dysfunction. Sitting was next to impossible when it flares. I wish I had a more conclusive answer(s) for you. There are just too many possibilities.
Avatar f tn I also had bizarre pain in the groin area last December, and one bout of hip pain. Went to an OB/GYN for the first time in 5 years and did an US which showed up a 3 cm growth, uterine fibroids, etc. 3 ultrasounds later, I just had surgery to remove the ovarian growths. There were varying opinions about the groin pain (e.g., the growths can impinge on nerves leading to the groin). So, far I don't feel the groin pain.
Avatar f tn I am 57 and have been menopausal for 8 years. I've had ovarian cysts before and never bore children because I did not get pregnant. A year ago I went to the doc because I had discomfort in the right side of my belly and told her I thought I had cysts, which she almost scoffed at because of my age. I do have 3 large cysts, fibroids and possibly endometriosis. There are calcium deposits in many places.
Avatar n tn I have now started to get the same symptoms again, lower abdomden pain, progressing into my groin and pain going into my back, I wondered if anybody can advise me if my cyst could have returned again? Or are they something that once removed are not able to return? Many thanks.
409451 tn?1206896632 The ct report says there are bilateral ovarian cysts and fluid in pelvic are. I had a pap about 2 1/2 months ago, everything normal. Also no infections found. I have been to Mexico twice, years ago...what could that be in relation to?
Avatar n tn My wife woke up with chills and a pain in her lower left groin. No fever. Just uncontrollable chills. Any ideas as to what it could be?
Avatar f tn he examined me more thoroughly and told me my urine wasnt infected and the such as back and groin pain may be due to ovarian cysts and told me to have another follow up with my GP and that i may need a scan. i am generally feeling fatigued and washed out...the dull pain is nagging and im feeling dizzy and near to fainting at times. i am getting tired of being fobbed off by my own GP and would like to know if these are possible symptoms of ovarian cysts ....
516301 tn?1211560799 For the past few weeks/months I have had bad pain in my navel, lower belly, and pelvis/groin and when I went to the urgent care they said it was a UTI so they started me on an antibotidic but the pain quickly returned accompied by bloating with the pain so I went to the ER and they said I still had the original UTI and I most have been drug restistant to the first med so they started me on a new antiboditic which cleared it up but then recently I began having bad stomach pain in the navel and be
Avatar m tn MOST ovarian cysts, etc are benign, well over 95 percent of them. Ovarian cancer is a pretty rare disease. The wait until Dec 4th to see a GYN/Oncologist is not that long, and if GYN/Oncologist feels after reviewing your records that it is an emergency for you to be seen, they would get you into the office earlier. Wait times also vary depending on your location and the number of GYN/Oncologists in the area. The cysts/masses you have are pretty small.
Avatar f tn Im a 37 yr old female with right sided abdominal pain for the last 7 years. it is in my waist and refers down into my groin ; pubic area and when its really bad into my leg. I have had several lap scopes for queried "female" problems- from ovarian cysts to endometriosis- they are all clear. I have had my appendix out many years ago. I have had abdominal CT scan and that showed a hiatus hernia but nothing else. I had MRI's and full abdominal sonar and that is clear.
946578 tn?1258663287 t think you could feel ovarian cysts through your skin unless maybe they are very large, or the ovaries themselves are enlarged (?) What kind of doctors are you seeing, any specialists?
6758585 tn?1390314001 One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts. You can discuss the treatment options with your gynecologist.
Avatar n tn I have been dealing with abdomen pain (which at times can be quite severe), lower back pain, right hip pain (in the groin/joint area), fatigue, weight gain, constipation, and pain when having a bowel movement. I was referred to a GI specialist who ordered a CT of the abdomen and pelvis. The only thing that came back was a "4.9 cm well defined, thin walled cystic lesion at midline in posterior culdesac?...possible GI duplication cyst?....unclear....endemetrioma is not excluded....
Avatar f tn bloating, constipation, headaches, right side gripping and stabbing pain with pelvic, groin, leg and back pain as well, nausea, lack of appetite, emotions everywhere, sore breasts, pain with sex, fatigue and weakness.

Avatar f tn Thankfully though MOST ovarian cysts are benign. If you do not have a family history or predisposition for ovarian cancer then your risk is LESS THAN 2%. I developed an ovarian cyst at age 49. My gynecologist rushed me into surgery and should have removed just the cyst (cystectomy) since my frozen section came back benign. Instead, he removed all of my sex organs. Since the uterus, ovaries, and tubes have LIFELONG functions, I am suffering the many health and quality of life effects.
Avatar m tn For the past few weeks I've had on and off nerve pain in my left hip/groin and upper leg. It isn't even so much pain as discomfort. I want to figure out what is going on. No other symptoms. Randomly I feel a discomfort or new sensation. Sometimes it is just in my left groin area, inside the hip. Other times it alternates from my hip to my left upper quad or even occasionally alternates from my hip to my left calf. It happens more when I am moving than when I am lying down.
