Avatar f tn Anyway, I was suppose to go in for surgery on August 10th 2016 to get the left ovary removed and the right one looked at and some biopsies but when I went on medical leave my place of employment immediately cancelled my insurance so I have had to go back to work and cancel my insurance and I am freaking out because this is my body not theirs and I am no further to an answer now as I was at my first appointment back in January 2016.
Avatar f tn There is a good article about cysts on the Health Pages. Maybe you could print that out. I would fight the insurance company on this one. Good luck!
Avatar f tn So I've missed two periods already. I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant. I went to the doc last week and my urine test was negative. I have constant pain on my lower right side. Sometimes it's mild, other times extreme. I've felt it since I missed my period the first time. It even hurts when I have intercourse with my hubby. I no longer have health insurance, I'm trying to fix that. My question is, have any of you had an ovarian cyst? And what were your symptoms?
Avatar n tn My wife has been in menopause for a year now. We were without health insurance for 3 years and she just had a exam. The doctor had ordered a ultrasound and found 2 cysts one 4cm and one 2, the doctor called and suggested she return in 4 months for another ultrasound. They office was searching for film done 3 years ago and after reviewing a previous ultrasound he ordered a MRI with Contrast...
Avatar f tn I guess I have no choice but to live with this pain. I have no insurance, do not have the money for insurance. My husaband is in the housing industry and work is slow. I went to the ER several times. They discovered I have a possible Dermoid cyst. I have contacted every agency in our county, to no avail. I even went outside our county and I thought I was finally going to get some help. I went a hour to see the doctor, she told me to come back for my surgery consultation.
Avatar f tn I know I shouldn’t be on the internet reading about this stuff, but it says menopausal women shouldn’t technically have cysts on their ovaries anymore because there is no ovulation. So that’s why I am worried. I did have a follow-up with my GYN the very following day and she saw the report and told me not to give it a second thought and basically told me “see you next year for your annual”! I guess the fact that she isn’t worries makes me feel better, but my health anxiety has taken over.
Avatar f tn Unfortunately doctors are human first off. Secondly pharmacy companies rule our healthcare systems! Here's some facts that you may NOT know: The USA is ranked like only 40th in all the countries based on the health of our people! However we are ranked #1 for amount of prescriptions our population takes! The number 1 cause of deaths in the USA, that NO ONE is reporting accurately, is death by doctors!! (based on research!!
Avatar f tn The CA125 test is not accurate at diagnosing ovarian cancer. Benign conditions, including harmless ovarian cysts, can cause elevated results. I'm surprised they even did a CA125. If you do indeed need surgery, the frozen section done while you are in the operating room should dictate whether or not the ovary needs to be removed. If it's not cancerous (only about 13 out of 1,000 women get ovarian cancer) you would not need your ovary removed.
Avatar f tn 2 years back I was told that I have ovarian cysts (the doctor say me once, and told me to go to a specialist, but w/o insurance I could not afford it) The cysts keep reoccurring (or are not going away), and are getting more and more painful. I I have varying amounts of pain day-to-day, ranging from my pelvis, abdomen, lower back, and then down my thighs (when it's really bad). It hurts to cough, sometimes pee, have sex, and walk (when it's really bad).
670722 tn?1225768591 one other question i have is ..... am i less likely to get pregnant because i have cysts??? not that i am trying or planning right now to have any but i was wondering if i am less ceptible to become pregannt because of them ....
Avatar f tn William Parker who uses organ-sparing procedures says that post-menopausal ovarian cysts are more common than many realize and MOST of these cysts are benign (just as they are in premenopausal women) and do not require removal of ovary(ies) IF you have the right doctor.
Avatar f tn When did you have the ultrasound done and did they do a TV/US, which is a trans-vaginal ultrasound that gives a better view than a regular abdominal ultrasound. Ovarian cysts are fairly common in young women and develop during ovulation. There is a lot of information about cyst at the top of the page on the cyst forum, click on heath pages to look up the cyst link.
Avatar f tn Two weeks ago I found out I have two ovarian cysts, one one each ovary. The left one was 3cm, the right 12cm. My physician told me to make an appointment with a gynecologist about getting them removed. The problem is I'm 23 and have no health insurance; when I tried to sign up, apparently I was past the deadline so I couldn't. I decided to wait til I could afford it.
Avatar f tn Hi there. You've come to the right place. Relax. They are saying you have a tipped uterus (very common), small fibroids (also very common and ignored unless get big and cause a lot of bleeding) in your uterus, the 2.6 cm possible dermoid cyst (this is small and can likely be removed via laporascope and over 95% are benign) and a small cyst on your left ovary which is something that happens every month as a byproduct of ovulation (normal).
Avatar m tn My cyst was similar to yours - about 9cm and complex with thin septations and, I believe, low level echoes. If it's any consolation, most ovarian cysts, even complex ones, are benign. (Dermoid cysts are always benign.) Yes, there are certain traits that make some more suspicious than others but, again, the large majority of cysts are benign. Thick septations are more concerning than thin. And sometimes multiple cysts can look like one cyst with septations since imaging is not exact.
Avatar f tn I have a family history of cysts and PCOS but no cancer. When I was about 20, I had a functional ovarian cyst diagnosed via internal ultrasound (not sure how big it was). At the time I hadn't had a period in several months (I was much more overweight at the time) and was told it would go away on it's own, and I suppose it did because I didn't have pain or symptoms anymore. I was put on the Pill to prevent reoccurances.
1175033 tn?1492201228 I have never been actually diagnosed with ovarian cysts but I positive I get them. I havnt had insurance for quite a while now so I havnt seen a obgyn. So almost every month, half way through my cycle (right now) I get a sharp pain in my lower pelvic region. It radiates down into my rectom and sitting causes pain, standing cuases pain, and I cant walk enless I dont stand up straight.
Avatar f tn i might have to put off the surgery because i have no health insurance and they want 4500 dollars in two weeks. i also have a mass in right breast with blood flow goiing to it so i have a lot on my mine already. i just did not know if anybody had any advise. there is no history of cancer in my family.
483733 tn?1326798446 m seeing a lot of new forum members posting the same questions on both the Ovarian Cancer and Ovarian Cysts forums. There is no need to do this. Just post on the Ovarian Cyst forum as you are going through your testing and diagnosis, etc. and then on the Ovarian Cancer forum only if, God forbid, you not one of the 95% benign club. Many of the members on this forum and many on the Ovarian Canacer forum visit both and will ensure your questions will be addressed.
952660 tn?1258680874 I have been having severe off and on lower right abdomen and lower right back pain for a week or so, it is getting worse, and recently has been waking me up. I am extremely tired, and have a bad headache. Some pain when urinating for three days, and pain after eating. I have had a very slight or no fever the entire time. I lost my insurance a few months ago, and can't afford a lot of tests. My stomach seems quite bloated also, I have a family history of ovarian cancer, it scares me.
1667689 tn?1303337973 Hi, My name is Gail and I'm a 47 yr old mother of 4. A little family history first. My mother, in her early 50s, had a post menopausal full hysterectomy after her dr. found an ovarian tumor. They removed a mucinous ovarian tumor the size of a basketball that had cancer cells in the center. It had not spread anywhere and she did not have to have chemo or rediation. She had follow-up appointments for 5 yrs and given a clean bill of health.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me today that family physicians are way too quick to dismiss ovarian cysts as a cause of stomach and pelvic pain. It sounds like no one is taking your situation seriously. If you have health insurance, I would complain to them because they will pay the extra cost if you don't get the care you need as soon as you can.
Avatar f tn It sounds like the absence of your menstrual cycle is serious whereas you need to see a doctor. With no health insurance, are there any local clinics in your area that offer free services? Or any medical centers that offer services at controlled costs? I used to work at a rehab where most clients did not have insurance, and there were several major medical facilities that offered free services during certain days/hours of the week.
Avatar f tn The pain can be because of post-operative adhesions, infection, ovarian cysts etc. An ultrasound scan may be necessary to make a diagnosis. Consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn If you click on the Health Pages link to the top right of this discussion with the orange logo and then click on the types of ovarian cyst page it will give you all of the types of cysts as well as the symptoms. My personal experience is you should be asking your doctor about hormonal treatment as a possibility? Also have you had any ultrasounds (transvaginal) because otherwise there isn't a sure way to tell what type of cyst it is.
