Avatar n tn I'm 44 years, normal periods and normal paps.. I'm noticed in my 40s that my periods have gotten lighter and shorter. This past period sept 6th was much heavier and after my period was over had mild cramps like I was getting my period again. Went in for a pap and my doctor sent me for a ultrasound and transvagina. My dr (who is a personal friend). Told me I have a small ovarian cyst 2.9 cm on my left and 2 small fibroids.
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts are very common and affect mainly women in their 30s and 40s. Women who are past menopause (ages 50-70) and have ovarian cysts have a higher risk of having ovarian cancer. The only way to diagnose ovarian cancer is looking at the cells under a microscope. There are tumour markers the doctors can test for called CA-125 and CA19-9 (both are blood tests) however numbers can be higher due to inflammation.
1798025 tn?1333814468 It has been observed that women who use OC pills have fewer chances of ovarian cysts so birth control pills may be effective in decreasing the size of these cysts. Painful cysts or very large cysts are removed surgically.Endometriomas and PCOD are associated with decreased fertility. It is best to clarify your doubts with your gynecologist. Hope it helps. Take care and regards!
1104206 tn?1407475591 At least you are already in your mid 40s. I was 45 when I had my last natural menstruation so my ovaries shut down naturally at age 45 (early, yes, but possible). Getting approval for surgery in Australia is another matter. I think the doctor has to prove high risk to get surgery approved, but I'm just not sure how it works there. I hope it all goes well for you. Keep after your doctor for answers.
Avatar n tn I have been suffering from Ovarian Cysts since I was 16 years old and I am 32 now. I had an oophorectomy at age 16 of the right side. I have two beautiful children but cannot get an acceptable quality of life because of these no warning episodes. Do you know of a natural remedy that I can use to eliminate and prevent future cysts from forming? My frequency is about 2 to 3 times a year.
Avatar f tn t anything you can do to prevent it from growing. Just be sure to keep your follow-up appointment with your doctor. Even benign cysts that grow large can cause problems. Best wishes!
Avatar f tn Mother had breast cancer in her 40s and passed away 2years ago from lung cancer. I am obsessed with worry now as this mass is solid. Could anyone give me a clue as to what I might be in for? Surgery? What are the chances this is cancer? Oh, and I sure could use a hug or two. Thanks for your support. Hugs to all.
Avatar n tn does having hemorragic cysts in menopause increase your chances of having ovarian cancer? They seem to stay on for about 8 months then burst.
6589573 tn?1382725642 I am 38 years old with a history of ovarian cysts & endometriosis. I haven't had a period in four months now. I have never had irregular periods before even with the endo. Had 2 surgeries to remove adhesions and 1 to remove a softball sized hemmoragic cyst. Doctor says I am not in perimenopause either. I have pain at my left ovary, clear discharge, and blood clots have come out during a bowel movement. Aside from feeling bloated and basically horrible the pain is becoming worse.
Avatar n tn No. That is not possible. During intercourse the penis reaches nowhere near where an ovarian cyst would be.
Avatar n tn 99% of ovarian cysts, masses, and tumors are benign. The symptoms for cancer are the same for benign cysts, too.
3100626 tn?1341387176 Could this pain be cysts. In so much pain really getting scared my mom died.
Avatar m tn and in bleeding disorders. Will need to rule out pelvic inflammatory diseases, pregnancy related complications and ovarian cysts. Please discuss these issues with your primary care physician. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
2042958 tn?1329985977 Women can take supplementary iodine to ward off breast and ovarian cysts and cancer. You might want to find out if you are deficient in iodine.
Avatar f tn HI, Even though you may not want any more children, you are too young for a hysterectomy. The bleeding can be stopped with help of haemostatic medicines and with use of hormones like progestins. Also a D&C may sometimes be necessary to stop the bleeding. The ovarian cysts need further evaluation regarding their size and nature. Many of the cysts in young women respond to birth control pills or regress spontaneously. Hence it would be best to consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation.
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
Avatar f tn 1 cm. A few small subcentimeter left follicular ovarian cysts are identified. There is no longer evidence of previously described 2.0 cm complex left ovarian cyst. The right ovary measures 3.8 x 2.0 x 4.0 cm and contains a thick walled complex right ovarian cyst measuring 3.4 x 1.4 x 4.0 cm. This was not noted on prior MRI examination. Clinical correlation and close follow-up is recommended. Small amount of free fluid is noted within the cul-de-sac. Impression: Status post hysterectomy.
Avatar n tn Follicles are a normal part of ovulation. You don't have any info in your profile. How old are you? What symptoms are you having? What tests have you had? Sorry but we need more information in order to help you out here.
Avatar f tn If you referring to anteral follicle count...that is they just look at ovaries on sonogram and count the follicles as a starting point 2 is not fabulous, but your wife is 45. You can't tell the whole picture from just the folllicle count. In general women in their 20s have 7 on each side. Most of us who had follicle counts have gone on for more assisted reproductive therapy so the follicle count doesn't necessarily give the doctor that much infor.
1083673 tn?1388888638 Does it stay only on one side or happen on both sides? (Around 14 days after your period starts?) I have suffered with ovarian cysts since I first started my period, and have continued for 20 years - having cysts. While I was never diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) I still had to suffer with many cysts over the years.
Avatar m tn Having a family history of OvCa only slightly increases your risks. Ovarian Cancer is still considered a rare disease. I think that in order to ease your mind, you need to see a specialist and discuss your fears and family history . Also, iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Good luck.
Avatar f tn Cysts affect hormones and boobs are affected by hormones, so I would think the cysts very well could be the culprit. Are you near your period or is there any chance you may be pregnant?
Avatar m tn Hello, What you may be having is a simple ovarian cyst. They are common in child bearing age. Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own and a simple ovarian cyst less than 6 cm goes away on its own usually by 12 months. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
