Avatar f tn I would ask your doctor to do a repeat FSH test in a few months. Give your body time to heal and all of your hormones to get back to normal. I think that would give a better idea because after surgery your hormones can be out of whack for a few months. When you have a cyst, it can mess with your hormones also. Cysts are know for make one "gain" weight, because when they are big, they bloat you. Give yourself time to heal and then you can go from there.
Avatar n tn Some, they just watch as they usually go away on their own. Some kinds need to come out. Others can be treated with hormones to suppress ovarian activity. Most ovarian cyst removel involves removing the ovary, and they don't want to do this unless it is necessary.
Avatar f tn I am 16 years old, I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts after many times to the hospital in may. I've been to my OB several of times. But everytime I go she kinda brushes off my symptoms. I'm having fatigue, low energy, frequent headaches, back pain, hip pain, and of course low abdominal pain. I'm also in constant pain, at times it gets worse.
Avatar f tn Hi jojo, Why not come visit us on the Ovarian Cyst Forum. This forum is primarily for Ovarian Cancer and there probably will be more folks replying to you on the "cyst" forum. You could also check out the Hysterectomy Forum. I had my ovary removed when I had the cyst removed but I'm also post menopausal so it really isn't the same as it is for you.. Pop on over to the Ovarian Cyst forum and post this over there..
Avatar f tn From what I have read most ovarian cysts, even in post-menopausal women, are benign and don't require intervention. This website by a reputable ob/gyn addresses this at the bottom of the webpage with the heading "Can an ovarian cyst form after menopause." http://www.ovaryresearch.com/ovarian_cysts.htm Absent a genetic predisposition for ovarian cancer such as BRCA1+ or BRCA2+, a woman's lifetime risk of ovarian cancer is less than 2%, 1.
Avatar f tn HI, Even though you may not want any more children, you are too young for a hysterectomy. The bleeding can be stopped with help of haemostatic medicines and with use of hormones like progestins. Also a D&C may sometimes be necessary to stop the bleeding. The ovarian cysts need further evaluation regarding their size and nature. Many of the cysts in young women respond to birth control pills or regress spontaneously. Hence it would be best to consult a gynaecologist for an evaluation.
Avatar m tn I don't know specifically about an ovarian cyst making a behavior change but when a little munchkin has a fever, ear infection, a tooth breaking through, diabetes -one huge indicator is behavior. They get tired and crabby and all around emotional. So it's not a huge step to think that some of it could be from pain/stress of the cyst. Also sometimes you don't feel the full weight of the stress, but still feel stressed.
Avatar f tn I have been on birth control pills for over 2 years and my bloodwork for hormones all came back at normal levels. I am curious about why these cysts may have formed and are they a sign of future problems?
1340383 tn?1309990914 I am trying to explore natural remedies for healing ovarian cysts..I have one (2.6 cm by 3.4 cm) on my left ovary and my Dr is suggesting birth control pills.. anyone heard of any herbs or food items to shrink cysts? Thanks!!
Avatar f tn I only assume I have PCOS because my hormones are out of whack and I have ovarian cysts. My symptoms have been going on for 10+ years and no doctor ever diagnosed me with this condition or even mentioned it. I have been struggling for the last 2+ years with severe health problems and was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance (metabolic syndrome). Make sure your doctor is very informative about this condition. Ask lots of questions.
Avatar f tn I have had issues so often with repeated ovarian cysts ever since 2011 when I had a hysterectomy. This past Friday was the third time I was in the ER since November 2017 because of the excrusiting pain from it. And because of my age of being 43 and not yet having gone through menopause they really want to conserve my ovaries not even by just taking one out and leaving one in they want to conserve both of them.
Avatar n tn Although it’s not known for sure whether benign ovarian cysts or polycystic ovaries develop into ovarian cancer, the vast majority of ovarian cysts appear to be unrelated. Women who have polycystic ovaries or ovarian cancer seldom have obvious symptoms early on. However, in both disorders, symptoms are noticed as the condition progresses. Because the ovaries are affected on both disorders, the some of the symptoms can be similar.
Avatar f tn I had problems with ovarian cysts in my teens. My hormones were out of whack, my periods were unpredictable. My doctor put me on birth control pills for awhile to straighten things out but when I went off, the cysts came back. I married, wanted kids but a new doctor told me because I was so thin, my body wasn't working quite right. I gained 10 lbs, monitored my temperature and eventually had 3 children. So cysts and crazy periods does not necessarily mean you'll never have kids.
Avatar f tn Cysts tend to coincide with hormone imbalances. Breasts are affected by hormones. So there can be a connection in that regard but that does not always mean cancer. Most cysts are benign and many women have had cysts without simultaneously having breast cancer. Hormones are a complicated matter. It is possible to feel extremely unwell while having an ovarian cyst.
Avatar f tn I'ld like to add that based on my ultrasound, these cysts are not chocolate cysts.
Avatar f tn Hi I’m 22 and have two children . I have frequent big ovarian cysts I have had cystectomys 3 times in the past 3 years. They are extremely painful and I still have no answer as to why I get them so frequent and how can I help preventing them . I have tried many different birth controls and I went even with out. I have not had a period in a long time like a year not at all .
Avatar f tn Dizziness was my first pregnancy signal, but since most pregnancy signals come from hormones and an ovarian cyst can play heck with your hormones, all you can really say for sure (absent a pregnancy test) is that you are feeling hormonal symptoms.
763734 tn?1249384736 I am post menopausal and have been recently diagnoised with an enlarged ovary/ovarian cysts on the left side. Yes, I have pelvic presssure pain and constant, cronic lower back pain. My only relief is a heating pad. My doctor is taking a watching waiting approach. Both my nipples became errect and super sensitive. On my left areola a small bump appeared right next to my nipple. My doctor said it was not related to my ovarian cyst. She told me to schedule a diagnostic mammogram and ultra sound.
Avatar m tn Erm I just got told hemaroid? I think! They're not doing anything apart from monitoring it but I can't explain the horrendous pain I'm in when I get one if my pains! It needs sorting but I don't know what todo next!

Avatar n tn My girlfriend has been on a progestin-only BC since July, she tried normal estrogin based ones as well but they do not work well since she has ovarian cysts. She didn't have a period for 3 months but they randomly started again. She is taking BC because her ovarian cysts make her have very violent periods and she wanted them to stop but they're back again. Why are they back?
1427674 tn?1283107458 Some ovarian cysts are hormonally active and result in pseudopuberty (early physical signs of puberty) In girls with hormonally active cysts, the ovarian enlargement may be mistaken for an ovarian tumor, leading to unnecessary(surgery) . Girls presenting with premature vaginal bleeding and ovarian enlargement should be genetically evaluated An ovarian cyst in a toddler/young child is often discovered by a Dr.
