Avatar n tn I have been dealing with abdomen pain (which at times can be quite severe), lower back pain, right hip pain (in the groin/joint area), fatigue, weight gain, constipation, and pain when having a bowel movement. I was referred to a GI specialist who ordered a CT of the abdomen and pelvis. The only thing that came back was a "4.9 cm well defined, thin walled cystic lesion at midline in posterior culdesac?...possible GI duplication cyst?....unclear....endemetrioma is not excluded....
Avatar n tn Ovarian cysts are common and usually go away on their own. They can cause symptoms of pain or discomfort and can also affect the menstrual cycle since they alter hormones. Some women always have cysts on their ovaries. There's something called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) where the ovaries contain cysts in a "strand of pearls" pattern.
Avatar n tn Yes, I had all these and more -ovarian cysts, acne, hair loss, joint pain, back pain, fatigue, anxiety and no sex drive- I had the copper iud before the mirena- I had no problems because it didn't have a hormone in it- when I got the mirena, I didn't realize how much the progesterone would bother me. I hope this help you.
Avatar n tn My doctor started me on the nuva ring in hopes that it would help with the pain from bilateral ovarian simple cysts that measure 5cm and 4.2 cm. If anyone has experience with this type of treatment please respond to the following questions. Does birth control help with the pain from ovarian cysts? Does using birth control help ressolve the existing cysts? How long does it take for birth control to show progress in pain and resolution of ovarian cysts?
Avatar n tn What you are describing can be symptoms for many things. These can include ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. Since it is pretty rare for women your age to have ovarian cancer and since more than 95% of all cysts are benign let's asssume you are dealing with a cyst. I had all the symptoms you are describing and had benign cysts. You should check out the health pages (top right) and look at the listing for types of cysts and symptoms.
Avatar n tn What is the difference between ovarian cysts and ovarian cancer. I haven't had a period for 3 months now and I have a sharp pain in my lower right side, as well as back pain, especially in the mornings. once in a while i am off balance when walking. i am bloated, and a lot of times i don't have an appetite.
Avatar f tn I get abdominal pain, back pain, pain on my thighs, bloating and nausea. However, what really affects my daily life is the fatigue. I am always very tired, I feel like everything aches and just want to sleep. I work but lack the energy to go through an entire day without feeling I need to sleep! Is anyone else experiencing fatigue... similar symptoms?
Avatar f tn Ovarian cysts can be benign or malignant but the majority (over 90%) are benign. A lot depends on your age and what type of cyst it is - functional, dermoid, etc. Your doctor hopefully will let you know if there is anything to be concerned about. You can google "ovarian cysts" to get more information so you know what questions to ask at your appointment. Please let us know how it goes.
Avatar f tn Mostly they are symptomless But Ovarian cysts can, however, cause problems if they twist, bleed, or rupture. Most ovarian cysts will go away on their own. One of the most effective treatments for ovarian cysts is use of contraceptive pills or progesterone pills. It can also be treated surgically and this procedure is known as drilling. Other modes of treatment are laparoscopic surgery, laparotomy or surgery for complicated ovarian cysts.

1650131 tn?1301528386 Cysts do grow and can grow fairly quickly. The pain you felt may not have been a cyst bursting but just pain from the cyst itself. I had a cyst diagnosed at 7 cm and by the time I went to surgery a few months later, it had grown to 10 cm. You really should follow up with the cyst problem, get it removed if needed. Doesn't mean it's cancer but it doesn't belong there.
Avatar f tn This will give them a good view of your ovary and any cysts that you may have. Please rest assured that ovarian cysts and cancer have most of the same symptoms. 95% of ovarian cysts are non cancerous. It is common to have pain during exercise, sex, and sitting for long periods of time when you have an ovarian cyst. Please keep us updated on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn After multiple tests (ultrasound, ct scan and MRI) I was told I have complex ovarian cysts 5×4 cm on both ovaries and pancreatic cyst that is over 1cm . I have 2 questions. 1. Since I very much refuse and will be refusing contraceptives , how else naturally can I cure ovarian cysts? 2. Can acidic taste in my mouth with coating on my tongue and lower back pain be due to pancreatic cyst?
Avatar f tn Inflammation or infection of the large intestine can at times be responsible for groin pain as can ovarian cysts. Spinal structure issues can also cause hip or groin pain as can a lingering kidney stone(s). The list is long. I initially had groin and hip pain when I first developed chronic pain that was later diagnosed as SIJ (sacroiliac joint) Dysfunction. Sitting was next to impossible when it flares. I wish I had a more conclusive answer(s) for you. There are just too many possibilities.

Avatar n tn She is now 16 and had to go to the emergency room last weekend for abdominal pain and other symptons. They did an MRI and found an ovarian cyst(s). Is is possible that this HPV Vaccine caused this?
Avatar f tn Unfortunately, I cannot comment on anything but the ovarian cysts. Cysts are very common and most resolve on their own. If yours are not large (over 7 cm or so) and you do not have a predisposition for / family history of ovarian cancer, then they can usually be monitored via periodic ultrasound.
Avatar f tn I went into the ER last week because of excruitiating pain and a blood test revealed a high creatinine level. Today I was diagnosed with hydronephrosis and hydroureter via ultrasound with no known obstruction. I have read that hydronephrosis could be a sign of pelvic cancers. Should I be worried about cancer considering I have both the cysts and the hydronephrosis now?
Avatar n tn Common things being common, fibroids, which are benign muscle growths of the wall of the uterus, can give you pain and heavy bleeding. Ovarian cysts can be related to ovulation, or benign growths, endometriosis and so on. To sort that out, usually repeat scans are obtained over 3 to 6 months to see dynamically how the cysts come and go. Depending on your age, birth contorl pills are commonly tried to control heavy bleeding and pain.
Avatar m tn I have read on ovarian cysts and symptoms and was just curious for real women to describe what symptoms they have had? For me I really never paid attention to most of them. My main symptom was Menstrual irregularities. Now that it is my 2nd round with the cysts I am more aware of these symptoms. Now I feel the pelvic pain, nausea, bloating, difficulty with urinating, and I feel exhausted all the time. Does anyone else experience that?
168348 tn?1379357075 I have 2 ovarian cysts (at the moment) and kidney stones (mine, too, stay in the kidney!) and i get very very sick and the pain gets so bad sometimes that all i want to do is sleep to pass the time, but sometimes i can't even sleep. the pain is the worst before menstruation. i'm 15 so it's hard to deal with the pain when i'm trying to do well in school.
Avatar n tn There are more than one flavor of ovarian cysts and some are more cause for concern than the usual ones that occur due to what I think of as a misfired egg. I've had plenty of those along with hemorrhagic and chocolate cysts from endometriosis. Those tend to not rupture on their own and surgery usually is only considered after the size has been tracked for a few months and it gets so large that it causes more symptoms or interferes with fertility. Ain't it great to be a woman?!
Avatar m tn Did an ultrasound and gave me pain meds. The US showed a 6CM complex cyst on my right ovary. Follow up with my dr (different dr) and he believes it's endometrioma. He does not want to do surgery despite my intense pain. He wants to see if it resolves on its own which I have read endodemetrioma do not do. I also read that an ultrasound can not determine what type of complex cyst it is. My problem is I cannot work like this.
Avatar f tn These anatomical / skeletal changes cause chronic back, hip, and rib cage problems and pain. Bladder and bowel function can also be affected since they are separated and held in place by the uterus. My bowels have been "messed up" since surgery. Has your endometriosis diagnosis been confirmed with exploratory surgery and biopsy? Have you had (or considered having) the endo excised by an endometriosis specialist?
256161 tn?1196879046 I know lyme causes all kinds of different cysts. I'm not sure about the ovarian cysts though as they are quite common in women in general. Flagyl is a cyst buster so if you have lyme you may feel the herx reaction.
