Avatar m tn This is also my excruciating story...so much pain in the tailbone and hip and lower back area. Standing for no more than 10 to 15 minutes. A trip to walmart is torture. Avatar m tn I have some lower back pain when I have to pee. I only have one kidney (other was removed 6 yrs ago, it never worked and doctors didn't know until I was 21). No back pain other wise. What could this be?
1378884 tn?1315509445 It can be injected directly into a joint to ease pain and swelling, given in an intramuscular injection or taken orally to quiet an overall RA flare-up, inhaled to help asthma and COPD patients breathe better, and more. My mom takes injections in her lower back to temporarily ease pain. My guess is you have a low back injury that is irritating the sciatic nerve, which travels down the back of your hip and down your leg.
Avatar n tn I have had lower back pain for around 10 years. At least once a year I have what I call an episode, which simply means the back pain, worsens. The strange thing is when it does get worse the pain always radiates up my back not down. In 10 years I have had 2 MRIs on my lower back and they always find nothing. I am a very active person stretching everyday (because of my lower back) and using an elliptical machine for 30min/ 3 times a week for 6 yrs around 480 calories each time.
432312 tn?1265648574 I am over weight as my back pain sometimes causes me to not want to move at all. Ok here is my question. I think I have arthritis of some sort. I have been to many doctors. Sometimes they tell me that it must be a symptom of my MS. My MS doctor says that it could be but that since he isn't a back doctor he doesn't know. Mostly my lower back is affected. a dull ache that doesn't go away. Standing makes it much worse.
Avatar f tn I also suffer from Lumbar Buldging disks, bone spurs, and osteoarthritis of the lower back, hip and knees. The Epidural Lumber Steroid Injections have greatly reduced back and hip pain. My feet still burn almost all the time. It is painful and so far no one has been able to answer the question as to why. All I hear from physicians is "This makes no sense". I will keep you posted if I discover anything that helps this problem.
Avatar n tn With a serious accident, osteoporosis or other causes of weakened vertebral bones, vertebral fractures in the lumbar spine may also occur. Chronic lower back pain usually has a more insidious onset, occurring over a long period of time. Physical causes may include osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, degeneration of the discs between the vertebrae, or a spinal disc herniation, a vertebral fracture I hope this helps. Take care and keep us posted.
Avatar n tn My last comment I didn't mention type of pain. For years I have had lower back pain that was the associated with my tailbone. My doctor said it was arthritis and to take painkillers for the pain. Doing this and avoiding things like sitting on hard suffices, bike riding, sitting on the floor, sitting for long period of time, seemed to help. Well during being pregnant I had these pains and pains in my right hip groin area. I was told its due to pregnance.
Avatar n tn Hello, My husband has been having middle and lower back pain for years now. He was in a car accident over 9 years ago and slipped three discs. He had pain when I met him 7 years ago and it's been gradually getting worse to the point where it affects all his everyday activities. It's hard for him to get out of bed in the morning. He can't stand still for too long and we can't enjoy vacations or trips because it hurts too much. He can't drive for hours due to the pain.
1956614 tn?1325869001 When walking or moving aroung for about 45 mins,I feel  intolerable pain, and a warm, sensation in my lower back. I could barely stand it feels like my lower back has been beaten up. I did not have this before surgery. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?
Avatar n tn Hi, Osteoarthritis is also known as degenerative joint disease Spinal arthritis is one of the common causes of back pain.Spinal arthritis is the mechanical breakdown of the cartilage between the aligning facet joints in the back portion (posterior) of the spine that quite often leads to mechanically induced pain. The only effective surgical treatment option for osteoarthritis is a fusion to stop the motion at the painful joint and probably this is the reason for the implant to be used.
Avatar m tn I've had back pain for over 3 years and haven't had much relive from anything. I have 3 bulging discs -2 upper 1 lower- degenerative disc disease, arthritis, pinched nerves to where it goes to my feet and makes them a little numb, my left are bothers me to where it gets weak and can't do certain things sometimes. They say it's from my back. Everyone says that it's not that bad. So if it's not that bad why have I been having pain for over 3 years.
Avatar f tn Anyways, even during all of this, where the pain was so severe in my hips, thighs and lower back, When I found out, I had originally went in for a severe stabbing pain in my butt. It had felt like someone had progressively just been digging a knife deeper and deeper into my butt bone, which then I did a Bone Scan and MRI that day.
Avatar n tn Routine X-ray examinations of my back and hip found a left-hip pathology, the onset of osteoarthritis. My doctor thinks this could account for my symptoms, via an entrapped nerve in that left-hip region.
Avatar n tn I've had numerous mri's of my cervical and thoracic spine due to MS, but never lower than that. This pain is clearly near my hip area and runs horizontally across my lower back. It's getting so I can't even stand up long enough to wash dishes without having to sit down for relief. Something has to be wrong.
Avatar m tn Today is just another day of misery,My life has been put on stop!I've always been a very active person .At 40yrs old I was still playing with my sons, running, throwing a ball, anything! Now it's all gone I'm not able to even support my children ,I've thought of suicide twice ,but my faith is to strong to do it.So I just hang on,watching life go by and try to except my condition,It's very painfull!to stay this way.I really thought after surgery that I would be able to live my life without pain .
Avatar n tn the pain subsides when the tablets are used but comes back. Sitting causes pain. standing no pain. sleeping on back some times causes pain. when the pain is more when I am in sleeping position (on the back), the left side of the mid back is more painful. The mri doesn't show and disc herniation or disc bulge but why I am getting this pain. I have a 10 month old son at home and I feel very disappointed and some times I feel so depressed I feel I should die.
Avatar n tn I came across this post when I was looking for symptoms and causes of middle/upper back pain. I have had constant back pain for a week as of today. However, I have had back problems in the past. I am 28 years old, but when I was 12 I had done a back flip on a trampoline and my back had landed on the bar. For a week straight, I couldn't lay anywhere but the floor. Ever since then, I can sneeze or lift a window open, and pull my lower back out.

But you guys have given me some great input, thank you. If anyone else has some suggestions would appreciate it as it may take some time for my doctor to make room for me.

Avatar n tn I have recently developed a stabbing pain in the left upper thigh to the point that I reach for the point or it wakes me. I have no event to relate it to. I hadr severe lower back pain prior whichh is to the left of center and now the skin is permanantly numb on the upper thigh and the muscle beneath is very painful to compress. Avatar f tn I am a 33 year old female. I have been having abdomen pain and lower back pain on my left side. I have been seen by my ob/gyn and they ruled old ovarian cycts could it be my kidneys? The pain is just radiates just above my hip area around to the back.
Avatar f tn Hi Kia, How are you feeling now? To start with excessive lower back pain or strain can cause impingement on the nerve in that region. Any external compression or pressure on that nerve can cause pain in distribution of nerve. The nerve involved in hip joints is Sciatic Nerve, which starts from lower back and extends up to foot. Hence any concern with Sciatic nerve, the pain will radiate up to foot. The pain is sharp shooting type of pain.
Avatar n tn My mother is 59 years old & has been experiencing back pain for around 4 months now. Her back becomes very stiff every morning after she gets up. She is unable to maintain a posture like sitting for more than 1 hour & feels a lot of pain while standing up. She had a 'slip disc' incident around 12 years ago; with exercises recommended by the local doctors she was able to subside the pain. She is also a patient of osteoarthritis.
Avatar n tn History of a kidney stone 20 years ago. Has been going on for 2 years. Some lower back pain. 45 Y/O Male Any ideas would be helpful. My doctor is stumped!
Avatar f tn I had this happen to me and it was caused from Osteoarthritis in my hip. It would cause the pain to radiate down my leg all the way to my toes as you are experiencing. I had to have a THR (Total Hip Replacement) done when I was 35 years old to get the pain taken care of. I've had 2 others since then, over a 30 year period of time. (the first one lasted for 26 years.) But it's my understanding that SI Joint disease can also do this. That's why you need to get it narrowed down.
Avatar n tn Before acupuncture, the pain was so intense that it was impossible to pinpoint it. Chiropractic solved back pain problems I used to have, but left the knee pain intact. I had thought the problem might be sciatica, but now with my back problem much better, I realize that I never had pain shooting down my leg. All my pain is behind the knee. Massage helps temporarily by making attacks less intense and less frequent.
Avatar f tn during gentle yoga exercise while moving from laying position to stand up, especially in my lower back. Moving my arms up and down the wall in various positions, any type of squat. I have a history of osteoarthritis in my knees and had the scope done in past with no luck. My pain at times is maddening and unbearable and is progressively getting worse. I am now scheduled for an MRI from the neurologist dept. I am 57 years old and have had radiation for larynx in situ cancer 9 years ago...
