Avatar n tn The strange thing is when it does get worse the pain always radiates up my back not down. In 10 years I have had 2 MRIs on my lower back and they always find nothing. I am a very active person stretching everyday (because of my lower back) and using an elliptical machine for 30min/ 3 times a week for 6 yrs around 480 calories each time. I also walk the dog for an hour each weekday and stretch during this walk.
Avatar n tn I thought I had pulled a muscle in my lower back on the right side. My family has a history of kidney problems so I ask the doctor to do a urine specimen to rule out a kidney infection so she did. That came back fine. A few weeks later the pain continued. I went back to the doctor and she did blood work. All the blood work came back good but I still hurt. All she did was give me pain pills which do not help. It hurts when I lay on my side or when I try to get out of bed.
214864 tn?1229718839 Now I have developed osteoarthritis as diagnosed by a rheumatologist. I have a lot of lower back pain constantly whenever I sleep for more than 6 or 7 hours. I also have flairs of pain in other joints. I am wondering if any of you have ever heard of a pilonidal cyst, which makes tunnels with hair and pus in many directions, entangling with the nerves of the lower spine?
Avatar n tn For the last 4 months, every morning when I wake up I have what appears to be muscle pain just above my right hip and it radiates around to my lower back. The pain is not apparent during the day while I'm moving about, except during this same time-frame, my Chiropractor has not been able to perform one of his typical "moves" where he puts me on my left side and twists my body by applying pressure to my hip.
Avatar f tn the way that hand would feel, severly achy, is how my joints feel... only much more intense. recently my lower back started hurting. the pain came out of nowhere. it felt like a sciatic issue... pain in lower back that radiated down right leg. since then the right side of my tailbone has really been hurting. sitting and laying down make it a lot worse. standing and walking alleviate the pain slightly. i do not have health insurance so i have not seen a doctor about this.
Avatar f tn Hello- I have had lower back pain, knee pain, general pain throughout body for several years. My CT scan-MRI from 3 years ago had shown some arthritis in lower back. It seems each morning when I wake up I am very stiff, hard to move, and in pain. I noticed yesterday that now my upper left back around the shoulder area is achy, especially when I move or turn. I am taking Atenalol, Lyrica, Celebrex, Zocar, Zetia, Niaspam, Synthroid and Ativan.
Avatar n tn The pain also goes down my left leg and is now in my lower left back. When I don't have shooting pains in my groin, there is a dull ache. Went to the DR. today and she thinks I may have kidney stones. Could this be ovarian cyst? The pains increase during ovulation and during my period. I have had them for the last several months and my periods have been irregular. I have no constipation. Has anyone had these symptoms?
Avatar f tn Anyways, even during all of this, where the pain was so severe in my hips, thighs and lower back, When I found out, I had originally went in for a severe stabbing pain in my butt. It had felt like someone had progressively just been digging a knife deeper and deeper into my butt bone, which then I did a Bone Scan and MRI that day.
Avatar n tn My rheumatologist and everything I have researched, says lupus does not affect the spine. I had MRI and it shows osteoarthritis in lower back. However, this does seem to be a common problem with people who have lupus and I don't know why. As for exercising, I can only suggest walking and light resistance training on days when you have energy and are pain free. The resistance training is such a benefit for our bone density.

Avatar f tn I have tried wheat bags in the past, is this the same as the arthritis pad? I have pain going down the backs of the legs, lower back pain, upper back stiffness and sometimes pain in the thighs and hips, depending on the day. I don't think my doctor realizes the pain I'm in as all he will give me is Tramal 50mg. I am waiting on a neural blockade bilaterally and haven't worked in 2 months. Are you working? Im hoping to get a job a few days a week where I can sit and move around!!
786881 tn?1236560228 I have been battling some different symptoms than you for a year and a half. Extreme fatigue (even Epstein-Barr positive), chronic constipation that causes severe pain in my left side and ribs, trouble sleeping, soreness in my armpits and really bad itching on arms, armpits and backs, chronic daily migraines. Your TSH levels are high and the fact you couldn't lose weight is not surprising and that doctor is an idiot. Also, Hashimoto's does affect cholesterol and triglycerides.

My pain management doctor (Dr.
Avatar n tn (I have symptoms of a pinched nerve in the lower back and am in constant pain). Should I get another opinion? My specialist is pushing me to have surgery and I am only 60 years of age. I don't like the odds of success with these options.
Avatar n tn Hello, My husband has been having middle and lower back pain for years now. He was in a car accident over 9 years ago and slipped three discs. He had pain when I met him 7 years ago and it's been gradually getting worse to the point where it affects all his everyday activities. It's hard for him to get out of bed in the morning. He can't stand still for too long and we can't enjoy vacations or trips because it hurts too much. He can't drive for hours due to the pain.
387767 tn?1345875627 How would you describe your pain, As a sharp burning pain that shoot down your butt or a dull ache that's located in your lower back and butt? I've had both. I had a bad case of scatia about a year ago and i was in pain everyday. The pain was hot and would shoot down my butt, sometimes I'd feel a little pop just before the pain. My husband and I planned a trip to Washington and New York last summer and I almost didn't go b/c I was afraid of all the walking and my pain.

Avatar n tn My lower back, front part of my thighs and lower back of my calf constantly ache I'm constipated and I can't make a bowel movement, if I strain my head pounds severly. I've lost 9 pounds in 2 days, and I have no appetite at all, I have to force myself to eat something (soup) I woke up this morning with chills and I had a fever of 104.1F - I had no one to call so I started keeping cold cloths on my head and back of my neck, stripping down and drinking ice cold water.
Avatar f tn The pain in my ribs always starts at the bottom, adjacent to the pain in my back which is probably around the t12 area. I should also note that I generally don't have any lower back pain, no pain in my other joints like my knees, toes, or fingers. Any ideas?
1477978 tn?1289505731 Ok! Joint usually not swollen, or red, or hot. However, I have had Bursitis where of course it swelled so bad once or twice I had to have it drained, and shot in the joint. Also had shots in wrist, directly into Ganglions. Other than the bursitis on occasion and the ganglions, no swelling or redness, just pain severe enough to lose function in wrists for couple of days or more. My knees! When at around age 12-13, I played catcher in baseball. Started having bad knee problems. Dr.
Avatar n tn when I initially wake up I am ok but when i get up and start moving around the physical symptoms and nervousness come back ... going to stay at 10 mg now until next week and seeing doctor on Saturday to see whether she thinks I am OK to go up to 15 after that. Also doing breathing exercises in the morning, once in the afternoon at work and in the evening to try and correct the chronic hyperventilation that is causing all the tingling and lightheadedness symptoms according to my doc.
Avatar n tn I ascribe all my present problems to tx, except the osteoarthritis in my lower back. The theory that's all aging holds no water with me. Of course I aged, a few more grey hairs, a few more wrinkles, little more flabiness, little more forgetfullness, a little more of this or that...no problem, it's plain old age. But this cognitive stuff I am having now has squat to do with aging, nor any of the other symptoms I talked about.
Avatar n tn I have had the same symptoms in my lower left leg. I Googled the problem and found your comments. I am going to the Dr. on Monday. I will post what ever I find.
