Avatar m tn i was also wondering about the osteoarthritis as my dr told me that i have severe degenerative osteoarthritis of the lower spine (I forgot the numbers), hips, left shoulder and both feet. I had major surgery last summer and mesh was used to attach part of my bowel to my spine. My dr figures that this may have jump-started the arthritis issues. Currently i have probs walking, bending and overall it hurts to be on my feet for more than 20 mins at a time.
Avatar n tn I am a active 24 year old and have been expierencing aching hips sometimes both at once, sometimes just one and the pain hurts in my lower back and hip,and allso radiated down the back of my thigh and sometimes into my knee when it happens. The hip pain is worse in teh eveing,if i am sitting too long,or too active that dayallso i notice i have the pain when it rains or is cold outside. The pain allso wakes me up at night and interferes with my sleep.
Avatar f tn I have osteoarthritis in my back and hips. The physiotherapist has given me exercises to help with the pain. Best thing is to keep active, if you can. Hopefully the ortho will help, and a rheumatologist, like I have seen, will help you cope with the arthritis.
Avatar m tn 54yr old female, have had this chronic lower back pain that radiates to hip area.I do have arthritis in lower back and hip,but the meds for it does nothing.I stretch every night before bed and every morning before getting out to no avail.I look like I'm 90 yrs old after a pain full ten minutes of trying to get out of bed.I have to inhale to stand up straight(omg the pain) but once I pee and get into kitchen for coffee I'm fine. The only doctor I haven't seen is a nerve doctor.
Avatar m tn My sister, 61 years old, has scoliosis and severe osteoarthritis in her lower back. She endures debilitating pain. Since she is an alcoholic, she is not a candidate for traditional pain killers or opioids. 1. Would Baclofen be a possible treatment for managing her pain? 2. Is it possible that Baclofen might have a secondary, off-label, benefit of being a possible treatment for the alcoholism?
Avatar m tn You need to check the complete spine with MRI spine at examine if you have degenerative disc disease in all the levels, since only then these symptoms could be attributed. Osteoarthritis could also be causing these symptoms. Consult an orthopaedician and he would examine and best inform if there is any cause for these multiple joint involvements. You could get an x-ray of these joints to check for the pathology. Take care.
Avatar f tn What would cause an 18 month old lower back pain? she has not fell or hit it on anything. Thank you!
Avatar n tn HI critterhappy, the only qualifications I have to answer you're question is that I too have osteoarthritis of the lower back and possibly hips...I can't say I've ever heard or felt any 'popping' in my back....this would to me indicated that something is out of alignment perhaps?...do you feel alot of pain when this happens? Does it feel to you as if some bones are rubbing on one another?
650397 tn?1228831384 I have always had a little hurt in my legs even when I was little. I just turned 40. My lower calf used to hurt really bad. Now it hurts but now my upper back of leg hurts worse. I am going to go ahead and have an MRI like my doctor recommends. But, I have to addmit I am a little scared. I also have alot of joint pain lately. Thumb, shoulder, elbow.
1378884 tn?1315505845 It can be injected directly into a joint to ease pain and swelling, given in an intramuscular injection or taken orally to quiet an overall RA flare-up, inhaled to help asthma and COPD patients breathe better, and more. My mom takes injections in her lower back to temporarily ease pain. My guess is you have a low back injury that is irritating the sciatic nerve, which travels down the back of your hip and down your leg.
Avatar n tn (I have symptoms of a pinched nerve in the lower back and am in constant pain). Should I get another opinion? My specialist is pushing me to have surgery and I am only 60 years of age. I don't like the odds of success with these options.
Avatar n tn The strange thing is when it does get worse the pain always radiates up my back not down. In 10 years I have had 2 MRIs on my lower back and they always find nothing. I am a very active person stretching everyday (because of my lower back) and using an elliptical machine for 30min/ 3 times a week for 6 yrs around 480 calories each time. I also walk the dog for an hour each weekday and stretch during this walk.
Avatar f tn Happy, happy, joy, joy . . . I have arthritis in my right knee (sought help because of the Baker's cyst I've coped with since June). My MS journey began with a rheumy two - three years ago, but there was no indication of arthritis at that time. I moved on to a neurologist and quickly left thoughts of arthritis behind, but I'M Baaaack (read that in a slow creepy voice :).
Avatar f tn I have been having a lot of issues with my neck and back. My symptoms started when I was 22, 7 years ago. It started when I woke up one day and had this pressure on one side of my neck, right under the base of my skull and behind my ear. I had this constant feeling of needing to stretch or crack my neck all day. Well this feeling never went away. Eventually I got the pressure on the other side of my neck as well.
2167803 tn?1338529751 There is no swelling at all.The pain feels only when knees are bent.I don't do exercise.
Avatar f tn Diagnosed with fibro 6 years ago, symptoms such as a numb foot for 3 months, numb/pins & needles in groin, hand & feet. Severe lower back pain, fatigue, loss of balance, burnt feeling finger tips, headaches, night sweats.. Physio noted severe right leg weakness & with symptoms sent me to nuero who referred me for Brain & spine MRI.
1187243 tn?1268397011 You would have multiple tender areas (muscle and joint pain) perhaps on the back of the neck, shoulders, lower back, forearms and legs. Sleep issues or insomnia are also common. Some people also have overlapping conditions such as Rheumatoid Arthritis, Osteoarthritis, or IBS. There are three medications that are FDA approved in the US to treat Fibromyalgia, Cymbalta, Lyrica and Savella; however, most people are on unique medication management plans due to differing needs.
Avatar f tn A few months later, this all returned with a vengance after taking a long car trip (12 hr drive) and again symptoms worsened. My neurologist did an EMG of lower extremities and that came back normal. An MRI of my brain showed no signs of MS, thankfully. My rheumatologist said no signs of RA or inflammatory disease. But now this has advanced to include flu-like aches/pains almost constantly. Some days my legs almost shake with the weak feeling and I feel totally unstable.
Avatar f tn It has worked well for controlling my pain (not perfect but pretty good). I also get some lower back pain (combination of osteoarthritis and nerve stuff) that only happens when I over-do (like trying to garden, etc.). I typically need a day or two of Vicodin for that as the Celebrex does not seem to work for that.
Avatar n tn I have chronic back issues and osteoarthritis in my right hip. This morning after my shower I noticed bruising all along my lower back, where I usually have pain. What does this mean?
