Avatar m tn i may have taken ofloxacin and prednisolone eye drops in my eye 5 times in a day instead of the 4 times like i was supposed to do.will it cause any harm?
Avatar m tn The downside to treating the eye infection without having seen an ophthalmologist is that the antibiotic could interfere with obtaining a reliable culture to identify the specific bacteria and which antibiotics are sensitive to treatment. I would try to use aggressive lubrication with artificial tears, avoid contact lens wear, and try to make an appointment urgently to see an ophthalmologist, preferably a cornea specialist if available.
Avatar m tn I want to modify the above answer. Many people do experience dryness after cataract surgery. Whether its the surgery or an underlying borderline dry eye that becomes symptomatics is up for debate. No question that corneal refractive surgery such as LASIK can cause dry eyes in and of itself from modifying and denervating the cornea.
Avatar m tn I am blind in my right eye and although I suffer from a slipped cataract lens in my left eye which causes some problems with light catching the top of the lens, the vision in that eye nevertheless is 20/20. Recently I was prescribed an ear drop ofloxacin which I understand is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic which can cause double vision. After using the drug for 10 days I have developed double vision in my good eye which is very worrying.
Avatar n tn later urinary urgency started and i was tested for chlamydia and gonnorhea then placed on a range of antibiotics on and off for 2 months. by 2 months i finally got into a urologist, who noted that my flow was extremely slow, my emptying was very poor and i needed to do something. he placed me on a range of antibiotics in combnation with xatral. after months of this the symptoms abated.
Avatar f tn s more than a month now my vision is still blurred and pupil is still extremely dilated. My vision was blurry even before I used atropine and Maxidrol eye ointment. Ofloxacin was the eye drop I was using before atropine. Doctor told me that I should have my vision back in two weeks and asked me to stop using atropine and prescribed hypromellose. My vision has improved but distant still looks blurry. What's my problem?
Avatar m tn Lastly, is it possible to contract HIV from touching the clitoris-vagina of the dancer with my fingers and then touching my eye or penis using the restroom? Sorry for the length of the questions, but I have OCD and feel like I'm barely functioning at this point with anxiety. Any help or clarity would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Doctor.
Avatar m tn constant redness in left eye, the sun burns my eye, the wind makes my eyes get teared up, I sometimes get spasms in my eyes (like a twitching sensation). Im hoping this is nothing to serious, but you guys be the judge.
Avatar m tn What worries me now is that inflamation has reached near the cornea, as an incomplete bluish ring. May this threaten the cornea? My vision is not normal and i have had watery eye for about half a year now. What treatment do you think will be best for this condition? Ciclosporine after a steroid, another antibiotic? Thanks http://www.medhelp.org/user_photos/show/198934?
Avatar n tn is it possible that the rash is the result of taking the Ofloxacin, and more specifically, perhaps the result of a build up of bacteria (yeast)? If so, will taking the Doxycycline clear up the rash, or will it just increase the amount of yeast bacteria build up, and thus worsen a rash that could be the result of excess candida in the body?
12270954 tn?1424407445 I was so happy and his eye looked so much better. The eye doctor said to continue the meds for another 5 days and recheck. The ulcer was gone and he took him off the Ofloxacin and started him on Cyclosporine to produce tears. So that is where we are now, he’s been on the Cyclosporine for 4 days. The doctor said apply it 3 times a day, but I’ve read a lot of data that says most vets prescribe it 1-2 times daily. Since he’s so small, I’m only doing it twice daily.
Avatar m tn Now what is the difference between the two medicines and how much time should one wait to see the result of the new medicine which has not shown any effect even 3-4 hrs after first doze. I'm really worried Please advise ASAP.
Avatar n tn emergency by family doctor for my eye infection. The doctor (Senior house officer and Registrar) informed me that I have cornea ulcer, pus and inflamation. He prescribed Exocin (Ofloxacin 0.3%)one drop every hour and Chloromycetin at night and monitored me every day for last 8 days. No improvement so far. He took a swab from my eye yesterday and I'm due to see him again on Monday (2 days time). My cornea has a white line (tiny) at the edge of Cornea and can be seen with a naked eye.
Avatar m tn Oh, ofloxacin. It's also one of the recommended NGU drugs, but as a second line option after doxycycline or azithromycin. Doxy would be more appropriate.
Avatar m tn My itch and discharge cleared up after I was done with the medication, 4 x 100 mg tablets, 2 times daily for 5 days. As a side note, when I was taking the medication, I don't feel too well, feeling weak, dizzy, slight nausea and couldn't sleep properly (bad dreams). However, fast forwarding about 2 weeks later, my symptoms returned. This time, I have an itch in my urethra and there was a pus like discharge (slight yellow white color).
Avatar m tn t be worry about whether the NGU will be resistant. You are on the CORRECT antibiotic for the NGU.
Avatar m tn The reactivity of 13 quinolones (levofloxacin, ofloxacin, pefloxacin, enoxacin, moxifloxacin, gatifloxacin, trovafloxacin, sparfloxacin, lomefloxacin, ciprofloxacin, clinafloxacin, norfloxacin, and nalidixic acid) was tested in 5 commercial opiate screening assays from September 1998 to March 1999. In 6 healthy volunteers, we confirmed the cross-reactivity of levofloxacin or ofloxacin with these opiate screening assays.
Avatar m tn The doc put me on ofloxacin. He said the the sore in my mouth could be a canker. He told me that if i had herpes blisters appear after 7 - 21 days. Whats everyones thoughts on if i have herpes or not. The partner i had oral sex with has been tested for everything but herpes and claims shes never had an outbreak. My stress levels are through the roof and i cant stop thinking about this and how its going to screw up my life!!!!
