Avatar m tn Hi forum, Early this year over new year I was submitted to hospital for emergency treatment on a corneal ulcer and was kept in hospital for three days and given intensive treatment of ofloxacin eye drops every hour, then released from hospital and continued to be on ofloxacin eye drops every 2 hours and steroid drops every 2 hours with frequent visits to the hospitals eye clinic to monitor my progress.
Avatar m tn For the cataract surgery, it is every 2 hours!!! Eye drops, eye drops and more eye drops. Then more eye drops for the dry eye that the other drops cause. On and on. No end.
Avatar m tn Hi how's it going? Not too good for me. My left eye has been red only in the corner, it looks like my eye is really strained. It's been going on for about 2 months. I've seen 2 different opthamologist's about 4 times all together. The first doctor didn't seem concerned about her patients; she just looked in my eye for 1 minute and gave me a sample of blink artificial tears. The other doctor just prescribed me to Ofloxacin.

Her pediatrician thought it was conjuvitis & rx Ofloxacin .3% it cleared up in 3 days.
12270954 tn?1424407445 I don’t know if his eye will heal and be normal or if I’ll have to give him eye drops for the rest of his life, much less, which eye drops do I give him?! (tear production drops, artificial tears, Tacrolimus, Genteal, I-Drops, Collidad Silver) I don’t know if the Cyclosporine will help produce tears or if it will give him cancer. I don’t know if he will go blind or they will want to take his eye out! I know one thing for sure, the saliva duct surgery sounds awful! Sorry for going on and on.
Avatar m tn after doing so i did a little more research and read up that mineral oil is bad for cats..especially if they inhale it...and what worries me is i noticed all 4 of my cats cleaning their ears with their paws and licking it...now i'm worried if they could be harmed by this? they also sleep with me at night..so i'm a little worried if i could've inhaled any of it as well..
Avatar f tn t remember if the vet specifically tested for that. I sure wish I could remember! ={ I think they put him on steroid eye drops and this eye gel stuff. Not sure if the eye gel was antibiotic or pain med!! HMMMMMM, haven't heard of Lysine. What's it supposed to do? Maybe, you can go to the Ask A Vet forum on MedHelp-there's an awesome vet on there-her name is Aleda. She is a sweetie and goes out of her way to help-it's obvious that she loves animals and people.
647911 tn?1373314647 with us, but now there is a yellow stuff that has came out of the same eye, he is still eating and drinking, should I take him to a vet for eye drops or does anyone have a idea what i can get him to help is eye, and cold? And do u think the cat caught the same cold that my daughter and I have had, because the cat started to get sick when we did???
Avatar n tn i have an orange tabby as well, but i have never seen this in him! i will be sure to watch for it! i would think that there might be an eye infection, or an eye abrasion if it is only on one eye. is the eye crusty or weepy? and have you been doing any work around the house? does the cat sneeze alot? those are things that come with a sinus infection. if he;s being extra lovey then there might be a problem more serious.
Avatar n tn An eye exam will not always show inflammation if it comes and goes. For example if someone is allergic to cats their eyes may be fine at the Eye MD office but at home near the cat (or dust, smoke, dander, pollen, etc) there may be inflammation, or allergies to make up, solvents at work, may only be present at work, out doors, while wearing some types of make up. So the answer is NO, not always.
Avatar m tn But, while you are there, have him tested for Dry Eye. (my yorkie had dry eye..my vet said it is quite common in older dogs and smaller breeds seem more suseptible to it ) Mucus buildup / discharge from the eyes is the main symptom...also squinting of the eyes, (especially outside from sun and wind ) The test is very simple, painless,inexpensive...(paper strip), and takes about 60 seconds. Dry Eye can be very painful and can lead to eye ulcers and blindness.
Avatar n tn Get rid of the cats or put up with it till they're gone.
Avatar m tn But of course! Absolutely NOT as an eyewash or for eye drops!
Avatar n tn However, my biggest problem now is having had very puffy eyes for the last week, no redness or itchiness, just swollen eyelids. I have seen 2 doctors, who have given me eye drops and Loratadine and then Fexofenadine, but nothing is helping. I'm getting to the end of my tether, please help!
Avatar f tn Hello, I had a little of Savannah kittens and when they were a few days old I noticed pus coming out of their eyes. I took them to the vet and got Pentamycetin eye drops to help whatever it is. I noticed the father (in a separate room) also starting to have teary eyes. I then took him to the vet and got blood work done. Nothing showed up. Then I had another vet recommend an eye swab for the kittens. It came back positive for D355 Mycoplasma. I then checked my other cats and they have it too.
Avatar m tn I took her to an ophthalmologist on Monday morning and they gave me steroid drops + ointment for 10 days. Its day 4 now and the color is back to normal and the swelling/pinkness has mostly subsided. I should include I found her abandoned at three weeks of age in a cardboard box with some water. What I would like to know is if this a sign of something else and will ever go away?
Avatar m tn I saw an opthalmic doctor here in France this morning who found that the slipped replacement lens was certainly a contributing factor to my current vision problem. However, with excellent overall vision in the eye, I have lived with this for many years without any 'ghosting' or double vision occurring.
1232362 tn?1333135406 I was diaged w/pink eye on Sat; besides common sense preventions is there any thing I should or shouldn't be doing as far as my cats? Also, what about their pans-should I try and get my fiance to tend them? I caught the conjunctivitis quite early and have been religious about applying the drops as prescribed and should be over it soon but don't want my cats affected. Thanks for any input!! Oh-anything I should watch for in them, just in case.
Avatar f tn Hi, I totally understand your worries. I've had cats for many many years and the third eyelids showing is one of the signs that I also look for when I think my kitties are sick. From what I've read about it, when they are showing it means they're either nauseous or sick. Since you already took him to the vet, and he checked out fine-I would just keep him in the house for a few days so that you can observe him. Hope he doesn't drive ya nuts!!!!!!!!!
Avatar n tn later urinary urgency started and i was tested for chlamydia and gonnorhea then placed on a range of antibiotics on and off for 2 months. by 2 months i finally got into a urologist, who noted that my flow was extremely slow, my emptying was very poor and i needed to do something. he placed me on a range of antibiotics in combnation with xatral. after months of this the symptoms abated.
Avatar n tn My vet have not test my cat for leukemia or for feline aid yet, because I told her that I had cats infected with leukemia so probably Mafalda also is infected. Mafalda is still acting normaly, despite her pupil dilated, she is still eating and looking healthy. Mafalda is going to go to the ophthalmologist's office next monday for a medical check. Thans Doctor.
Avatar f tn About 5 yes ago my cats claws were embedded in my right eyeball, I was treated by the dr until it braked but was told i needed a corneal transplant. Avatar f tn s more than a month now my vision is still blurred and pupil is still extremely dilated. My vision was blurry even before I used atropine and Maxidrol eye ointment. Ofloxacin was the eye drop I was using before atropine. Doctor told me that I should have my vision back in two weeks and asked me to stop using atropine and prescribed hypromellose. My vision has improved but distant still looks blurry. What's my problem?
Avatar f tn Can I use restasis eye drops on my dog? The vet I use to have made his own eye drops for her and made her eye worse and I live in a small rural community and he's the only vet in the area so don't really want to trust him again.
