Tosufloxacin is supposed to have more efficacy and a broader spectrum of action in infections. This should be more effective than ofloxacin in the treatment of prostatitis. However, some organisms like chlamydia are only weakly sensitive to this class of drugs and will need specific testing to identify the right antibiotic.
You may need to have another urinalysis done, preferably from a sample collected just after ejaculation. A prostate fluid analysis can also be done.
I am blind in my right eye and although I suffer from a slipped cataract lens in my left eye which causes some problems with light catching the top of the lens, the vision in that eye nevertheless is 20/20. Recently I was prescribed an ear drop ofloxacin which I understand is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic which can cause double vision. After using the drug for 10 days I have developed double vision in my good eye which is very worrying.
I'm a 40 year-old American living in Thailand. A few months ago I had unprotected sex with a female coworker. About 10-12 days later I noticed a burning sensation in the tip of my penis (it felt similar to when soap gets in the urethra). The burning intensified over the next few days. It does not hurt when I urinate and no need to urinate more than normal. There is no discharge - just a slight whitish mucous visible only if I squeeze the tip. Co-worker has no symptoms.
Feburary 16th I woke up with a extremely painful earache and lost my ability to hear in my left ear. I went to a walk in clinic the following day for the Doctor to briefly look into my ear and said it was "buldging" she sent me home with Doxycycline and OTC Allegra and told me to come back in 3 days if there was no improvement.
t look like little bugs. They actually look like a ton of brown/black ear wax. Go to 1800 pet meds and look under ear medications. Look for tresaderm. This will treat the mites. If it does have a foul smell to it, there is medication available on that site as well. However, you can treat it yourself with peroxide and alchohal. (if you have the stomach for it, that is). In the morning, poor peroxide into the ear. Hold the ear shut so it bubbles up inside.
Coincidentally, about 5-7 days later she starts to complain that her throat and ear are burning, and at the same time my symptoms return. I received a swab test again for STD and negative, and a urinalysis, which says I have no bacterial infection. I am worried I have passed something on to her. After returning to the urologist he prescribed Doxycyline and Ofloxacin, which diminished the pain for about a week, but then they returned.
ve had patients come in with ear pain and normal ear exams only to return 3 days later with a bulging and erythematous TM... is there some way to be catching these earlier?
5. Any change in management for a rupture/bleeding AOM?
6. Does otitis media with effusion always result from eustachian tube dysfunction? Can this occur without a clear precipitant?

Oh man. No. Just be careful and don't swap spit or get too close. I had strep throat twice and an ear infection while pregnant with my daughter. I'm a strep magnet. If it's tonsilitis that he has just keep a good space and lysol when he leaves.
The doctors say that my ear infections are just bad luck and not due to what I had stuck in my ear even though prior to that I never had an ear infection. Could I have some underlying infection that hasn't fully cleared? Seeing as they've been giving me the same ear drops for almost 2 years?
After having unprotected sex the head of my penis got itchy in the inside of the hole and had a very little amount of discharge. I searched the net to find the answer and the closest to my symptom is urethritis. Upon reading through the forums related to STDs, found out that some folks were prescribed with ofloxacin. Without consulting a doctor, I am self medicating now after googling what's ofloxacin is for. 3 days ago I took 2 400mg and subsequently 200mg every 12 hours.
I have 4 childeren and I can only hear from on ear and everything is magnified...... When is this stuff going to be gone from my ear and will I have to do this treatment again? I pray to hear from you soon..

And she sent me home I felt ok but not great and then in middle of night. My ear pain got worse and ringing in ear and some fullness. So I went to see about getting some pain meds. In a tray that I keep my meds in. I came across some ear drop that were not all used from other ear infection I had about six months earlier. I put the drops in and now I feel way worse. My ears feel more clogged and pain is not as bad . But I feel light headed . The ear drops have a steroid in it .
I suggest getting a second person to help you. One to hold him and comfort him, and one to get in that ear and clean it! I would probably start with a warm wet towel (dont use paper towels, they are scratchy)
Get out as MUCH as you can with the towel. After everything is done, get out you pets favorite treat. I usually don't suggest bacon as a treat unless you REALLY need your dog to forget about what you just did. Bacon is a GREAT treat for this type is situation.
With tubes in your ears, its really important that you keep your ears dry and not allow water into them. Are you using ear plugs when bathing? Water entering the middle ear through the tubes can cause infections. Does your physician know that you are continuing to have ear infections with the tubes in place?
I have been having constant ear infections for ages now.. i keep going to the doctors and they just keep perscribing me antibiotics.. so much so that i have a tollerence to amoxicillin.. when i take the antibiotocs they seem to work for a while then no longer after ive stopped taking them the infection comes back.. im at the end of my teather with this and finding it hard to understand why they keep reacurring.. i dont go swimming.. i dont even put my head under the water when i bathe..
On 3/21/07 she had stomach flu,5/24/07 she woke up with a bloody looking eye it's ALWAYS on the same eye (right)on the inner part of the sclera & it never spreads to the other eye,she always says it hurts & it swells up a little. Her pediatrician thought it was conjuvitis & rx Ofloxacin .3% it cleared up in 3 days.
It makes me feel quite wooly almost, now I am concerned that the infection that was (and possibly still is) in my tooth has something to do with the pain im getting in my jaw because the jaw pain was starting to ease after i had the antibiotics but since iv had the extraction iv got the severe heat and earache and under ear pain like before.
But it could also be due to bacterial infections of the gastrointestinal tract, urinary tract infections or lung infections. So, please consult your primary care physician at the earliest for proper assessment. He may ask for blood and urine tests to determine the cause. In the meantime take OTC acetaminophen for the temperature and try to take warm oral fluids.

is it possible that the rash is the result of taking the Ofloxacin, and more specifically, perhaps the result of a build up of bacteria (yeast)? If so, will taking the Doxycycline clear up the rash, or will it just increase the amount of yeast bacteria build up, and thus worsen a rash that could be the result of excess candida in the body?
