Neurontin joint pain

Common Questions and Answers about Neurontin joint pain

neurontin

Avatar f tn I have been having a lot of pain in my legs, back, hands and arms. Ibprofen and other things don't seem to help it. I do not know how to make if feel better. Some of it is in the muscles that are extremely tight and others seem like joint pain. Just wondering. My doctors won't prescribe anything else. I have tried Lyrica and a bunch of arthritis meds. Again I am undiagnosed so they are also trying to figure out what I have.

1029507 tn?1287714315 I was on Neurontin and then Lyrica for nerve pain while undiagnosed. I've taken NSAIDs (both OTC and Rx) which at best take the edge off of my joint pain. I haven't had pain that is both bad and persistent enough to make me consider other options. While I've had periods of more intense pain, they have thankfully been relatively brief. My best (untrained lay-person!) advice is to be open with your doc about the type and severity of pain so that they can do their best to help.
Avatar f tn Can you suggest anything else I could do? A Pain Management dr that I went to suggested facet joint injections. Does that seem like a good thing to do? Pls. advise. Thank you.
Avatar m tn That is what I call Tweeks, you get tweeked and more pain for about three days to a week. I was on Neurontin and actually have myofascial pain but they thought it may have been a nerve at first. The neurontin didn't do a thing for me. I was on 1200mg/day and it took me two months to get off of it because I got insomnia and had to take benedryl to get off of it and be able to sleep. It is low on side effects except feeling tired and dumb.

Avatar f tn I still feel as though the after-effects of treatment are still present. Anyone out there who has joint pain? My family doc said I have fybromyalgia. Anyone have really bad ADD? How about eyesight getting tremendously worse every year and still having very dry eyes. Anyone out there seemed to have never "bounced back" after the peglated interferon/ribaviran treatment? My husband tells me that all the time. I feel like a hypochondriac. I am in constant pain and always tired.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I meant to add that to find out WHICH med is causing the eye problems you should stop them ONE at a TIme. That way you will know. I THINK that you've pretty much figured it out that it's the Neurontin and not the Celebrex that was causing it from what you have said to me. Especially since that is one of the side-effects of the Neurontin and VERY seldom (only - was is it 5%?) for the Celebrex.
Avatar n tn So their might be a small tear in the tendon. Joint effusion is just saying a swollen joint and Bursitis (increased fluid in the joint). And you have some inflammation. But in any case it all sounds related to what you are experiencing. I hope you heal fast. I have a injury to my rotator cuff and it does all kinds of things too. It takes time but will heal.
Avatar n tn in 2007 about 3 months after final treatment, i started getting joint pain, beginning in my fingers. some times all my joints hurt, especially at night. gabapentin helps some, as does lyrica. I still have too much pain with the neurontin. tried a higher dose of lyrica and just went to sleep, couldn't function. the joint pain has gotten progressivdely worse over the last 14 months. i would think it would be getting better, not worse.
219373 tn?1274921434 i am a 32 year old female, relatively healthy, currently taking neurontin and feldine for pain and symptoms from an undiagnosed illness i have had for 2 years (neurological symptoms, weakness, fatigue). i have bilateral joint pain (mostly in my hands and elbows, also wrists and ankles). i do have joint hypermobility syndrome which is a connective tissue disease that makes the joints very flexible. i know joint pain is a common problem with my JHS but it seems so symmetical.
Avatar f tn Neurontin is not really geared for the direct neck pain. Neurontin is for the pain that radiates in the limbs. I was told this by two doctors and I did try it anyways. I have very severe neck pain. Is this something they can surgically fix? If it is, then I would be looking for a good neurosurgeon asap. It may not take care of the pain, but it will stop from the progressing damage that may occur. Your injury is at a very dangerous level. Good luck with the spinal tap today.
700212 tn?1240760820 My docter just prescribed me neurontin for what they are calling "nerve" pain. Have any of you ever taken it?...is it good or bad?...Ive heard both and Ive been trying to look it up...but I just started treatment also and I already take enough pills...but if its going to help I willtake it...My right leg has alot of nerve damage and deep scar tissue and it bothers me pretty bad...but for some reason they wont prescribe me pain meds that I can just take when Im in pain...
630344 tn?1280104983 I do not have a diagnosis of fibro, but I have chronic Lyme disease and myofascial pain syndrome, so I have a lot of symptom overlap. I find that neurontin is helpful in covering up some of the neuropathic pain associated with my illnesses. It will do nothing for muscle pain, just like how NSAIDs (like Advil) will do nothing for nerve pain. Also, as my doctor described it to me, it can take awhile to hit the right dosage with neurontin.
1310035 tn?1305621642 Neurontin (brand name for gabapentin) helps with nerve pain. It is very commonly used in MS. Another med for this purpose is Lyrica. If one doesn't work or the side efffects are too much, then the other can be tried, but the two are very similar. Hope this helps.
Avatar f tn the doctor Had to bring me back to Neurontin but my accute pain ,back pain ,joint pain etc... i feel the pain more now wich i have since too long now can they help me my doctor aint in my body it does ******* hurt all over day after day if its my new lifestyle i dont want that life anymore .
Avatar f tn Neurotin is chemically similar to the drug Lyrica. Neurontin is also used to treat nerve pain caused by herpes virus or shingles. It can interact with hydrocodone, morphine or naproxen and others. I have taken it but it was not successful in treating my sciatic pain. However others have had relief. I hope this bit of information helps you. If you have additional questions please continue to post. Take care of yourself and let us know how you are doing.
634733 tn?1316625992 the cycle is then set up of pain - stress - more pain and so forth. She is hoping that acupuncture may break this cycle by relieving the pain. I'm not convinced yet as I had my second session on Monday and Tuesday was a very painful day again. I'll keep you posted.
1415174 tn?1453243103 I have had visual disturbances after going up to 900mg of Neurontin.I was on 300mg Neurontin for 4 years and then the 900 mg for 6 months. It is like an aura or wavy moving lines that last about a half hour and are in each eye. Has anyone had this from Neurontin (or Celebrex). I am tapering off of Neurontin for that reason and would like your opinion as to how to get off of it will less side effects. I am at 500mg now per day.
