I have never been diagnosed with asthma, but over the years told that my airways are reactive to viruses. Colds and viruses trigger a few weeks of misserable shortness of breath, wheazing etc. I tend to go through this cycle three to four times each year between October and May. I have been on prednisone, nasonex, singular, various inhallers etc etc. I would like to finally get a firm diagnosis and therapeutic approach to handling the symptoms.

I was on nasonex spray prn or I take 1 puff each nose at times for few years= 4 years. Now I noticed hair thinning and loss. I have stopped the nasonex now. Will my hair grow back as usual? I am so worried. Iam not taking any other medication. But on hair supplements- zinc, vitamin E and multivitamin. Started my hair massage!
Started treatment with Nasonex 6 years ago and slowly Nasonex stopped having any impact. Went to an ENT who then prescribed nasal rinse using Pulmicort Budesonide Ampoules. This was effective for the lat 4 years but was messy because as soon as you got off it, the polyps would come back in a couple of weeks. For the past two months the pulmicort has now stopped being effective. Hence am looking forward to an appointment with the ENT for a possible surgery.
t whether I should Just keep doing the Nasonex and nothing else and wait n see? or if I should take some Sudafed and see what that does. Im not usually a person that takes medicines a lot I usually just like to work out and exercise a lot and let my body take care of it. But I never had tinnitus for 2 months before haha...but I'm just wondering what would be the better alternative do you think?
I just started using Nasonex (steroid nasal spray), and it really helps my allergies and sinus headache, and eye-related sinus problems. But I also have PVCs and my heart pounds a lot (can feel it in my head, back, etc). I'm wondering whether Nasonex is safe to take long term if I have these heart issues. Doctor just shrugged his shoulders when I asked. Anyone know?

I have been taking Nasonex for 5 months now and starting 10 days ago, I started experiencing weird sensation in the left area of my chest, it would only happen 3 to 6 times a day and it would feel like someone just tapped the someone of my chest with a finger or two, after 3 or 4 days experiencing this, I just completly stopped using Nasonex and have been off Nasonex for 5 days and 11 hours now.
Suggestion of the two things I have mentioned can; not saying they WILL. I would try them in combination.

So what's the difference between Merck, the manufacturer, and a robber with a gun on the street? Answer: The gun. Merck robs you without using a gun. Started on Rhinochort in October-went to Nasonex, it worked better. Tried to discontinue medications in Feb and he had immediate symptoms again - returned to it. For the most part, both medications have resolved his symptoms. I did notice over the last year he has been moodier/yells at us/crys over little things - but attributed to his age. I have also been on a regimen of Nasonex and other sorts of nasal sprays that you need a prescription for. Once again, I saw temporary relief only to have the symptoms return.
This summer (and now September) of 2008 has been really bad. (I lived in Japan from July 2006 to May 2008, and for some reason I had few allergic symptoms there). I am, like ever, waking up in the middle of the night unable to breathe because my nose gets congested. I blow my nose, but nothing gets drained.
I've had such a tough time with sinus headaches, allergies (watery eyes, plugged ears and tinnitus) and fatigue that I finally went to an ear-nost-throat doctor last week. He put me on Nasonex, a steroid nasal spray, to reduce the inflammation. I also hear my heartbeat in my ear at times, and he's hoping that a month on Nasonex will stop that. If not, he'll do a CT scan and other work to see what's going on.
The momthasone is in VERY low doses and is delivered exactly where it is needed, and used. Very little if any of this medication will make it into your body to start with.
Them methylprednisolone is an oral steroid. You are wise to be concerned about it. You are on a very low dose of that (for oral steroids) though and for a short time. I can't tell you how long it will stay in your system, but your should not experience any side effects from this very limited exposure.
Then I would suggest, breathing treatments with albuterol, my child has had asthma and allergies for 17 years and when she was younger, she was as sick as you, even hospitalized alot. Bronchitis also seems like a possibility, maybe if you can afford it or have insurance go see an Ear Nose and Throat doctor or an allergist.
I believe baby is well protected. But did you have a flu jab? I had mine and it's great!
What are you taking for colds? I've got my first one and haven't taken anything yet.....
I'm a little over 9 weeks and now have a Cold!:( I haven't had any morning sickness and now every time I cough I feel like I'm going to vomit :( the doctor said I could only take claritin. HELP!?
I have a cold and have no idea what i can or can't take. Im miserable please help girls!!
