These conditions can be fatal and gastrointestinal effects can occur without warning at any time while you are taking naproxen. Older adults may have an even greater risk of these serious gastrointestinal side effects.
Avatar f tn Like... they said at 10mg there are very few side-effects and at 20mg there are noticeable side-effects. But, you obviously don't want to change the dose on your own, as this can be extremely dangerous! But, it would be worth talking to your doctor about if the side-effects don't go away fast enough. Although... most of the time... with SSRIs in general I find, it can take 2 to 4 weeks for side-effects to go away and then they're gone for good.

Avatar n tn If you take it 30 minutes before food and take your Naproxen with food, your stomach should not get upset. RA affects all of us differently. The aggression of the disease, where it attacks how soon it is diagnosed and treated and how it responds to treatment affect the outcome. RA never goes away though it may go through periods of disease inactivity. During these periods, you may feel like you are recovered (I am told anyway) but it is always there.

Avatar f tn If you find that even 400mg of Magnesium causes stomach upset, then reduce the dose until you have no side-effects and then slowly increase the dose on a daily basis in a way that can be tolerated. This must be taken every day of the month, even though your headaches only happen right after your period has ended.
Avatar f tn I have been on Naproxen many times for back pain with no side effects. A few days later, I started having episodes of feeling really bloated, with nausea. 2 episodes resolved, but the last one has continued now for 5 weeks.I saw my Dr and she was very sure I had a gastritis from the Naproxen, so I stopped it. She put me on Losec 20mg for 30 days, with no real improvement of my symptoms or I was just getting used to feeling this way.

Avatar f tn re having a discussion on the MS forum about whether one can skip a dose of Avonex to avoid the major side effects during the holiday festivities. Some who take Avonex feel quite sick for a day or two. I'm lucky not to, but still this is a good question. Perhaps you could answer in terms of all 4 DMDs. Thank you.
Business man2 MY THEORY IS … the large amount of fiber and relative coarseness of the unprocessed breakfast bars eaten with a large amount of water, mitigate any bad effects that my large amount of “meds and other” might have if they all just “sat” there in my stomach without food. I write this ASK THE EXPERT QUESTION because I wonder about the interactions all these “meds and other” may be having due to their being ingested by me ALL AT ONCE on a day-after-day basis.
Avatar m tn The most common side effects from naproxen are rash, ringing in the ears, headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, abdominal pain, nausea etc! Antibiotics- only address bacterial infections- destroy friendly bacteria. This creates a compromised intestinal flora enviroment. 80% of the immune system lies in the gut! Also antibiotics contribute to fungal imbalance leading to possible candida infections.

Avatar f tn Naproxen is a prescribed NSAID, or heavy duty Aleve. It has blood thinning side effects which could be the source of your bleeding. If the bleeding is even moderate, I suggest you discontinue use and immediately scheudle a follow up appointment with your provider. If bleeding is very mild, such as you simply bleed more if you cut yourself, i would take note and mention upon your next appointment.
Avatar f tn We have not been able to isolate a trigger for the Afib other than his controlled blood pressure. Now I am reading that a side effect of Naproxen use is high blood pressure. Has any one else encountered this?
Avatar n tn Thanks for the response! Since I am only in pain when pressure is applied to the finger I'll probably hold off on taking the Naproxen unless the pain gets worse.
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn ll get the answers. Search each drug separately for side effects, make a list and do an analysis with all your conditions and symptoms. Discuss with your Pharmacist any discrepancies or contraindications or side effects that you find or you're experiencing. Have Him or Her call you doctor, to suggest possible adjustments and changes to your meds. Research for safer non-drug alternatives. And cut out carbs, sugars, junk food, sodas including diet or low cal.
