Avatar n tn My 15 year old daughter was started on topiramate for migraines, 25mg at bedtime. She has only taken 2 doses and is already complaining of feeling like she is in a "fog", is having trouble recalling names and certain words, and feels like her brain is moving very slowly. Her pupils are also dilated. Her doctor said that these are "normal" side effects and "should" go away in a few weeks.
Avatar f tn Like... they said at 10mg there are very few side-effects and at 20mg there are noticeable side-effects. But, you obviously don't want to change the dose on your own, as this can be extremely dangerous! But, it would be worth talking to your doctor about if the side-effects don't go away fast enough. Although... most of the time... with SSRIs in general I find, it can take 2 to 4 weeks for side-effects to go away and then they're gone for good.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the response! Since I am only in pain when pressure is applied to the finger I'll probably hold off on taking the Naproxen unless the pain gets worse.
Avatar f tn Some people cannot take triptans because they find they experience unwanted side-effects that are equal to or worse then their migraines, or the side-effects can sometimes be dangerous in rare cases. Your doctor can let you know if it is still safe to take triptans in your case. If your doctor decides that it is not safe for you to take triptans, there are other medications available. Naproxen is an NSAID that is sold by prescription as well as over-the-counter in many countries.
Avatar n tn Hi I am taking naproxen and citalopram as well as tramadol, pre gablin and oramorph. But everyone is different but I do have side effects.
Avatar f tn re having a discussion on the MS forum about whether one can skip a dose of Avonex to avoid the major side effects during the holiday festivities. Some who take Avonex feel quite sick for a day or two. I'm lucky not to, but still this is a good question. Perhaps you could answer in terms of all 4 DMDs. Thank you.
Avatar m tn The most common side effects from naproxen are rash, ringing in the ears, headaches, dizziness, drowsiness, abdominal pain, nausea etc! Antibiotics- only address bacterial infections- destroy friendly bacteria. This creates a compromised intestinal flora enviroment. 80% of the immune system lies in the gut! Also antibiotics contribute to fungal imbalance leading to possible candida infections.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else ever experienced any side effects like this from anything containing the naproxen?
Avatar m tn ve taken the full course of your antibiotics, presuming you are able and have no deterring side effects, it is wise to take a weeks worth of a probiotic supplement (like yogurt, but in pill form) that is enteric coated so to survive your stomach acid. That will put your digestion and body back in balance. Good luck.
Avatar m tn ‘Hepatic side effects have included elevations in liver function tests (15%), jaundice, and hepatitis.’ http://www.drugs.com/sfx/naproxen-side-effects.
Avatar n tn 00 PM, then in the afternoon the next day, I'd still have the equivalent of 1 unit of Naproxen in my system due to half-life metabolization. This would mean that if I drank alcohol that afternoon, it is the same as if I had just taken 1 naproxen on top of whatever I'm drinking. Yes? I would think so because the liver still has that unit to metabolize on top of the alcohol you are now consuming.
Avatar f tn Naproxen is a prescribed NSAID, or heavy duty Aleve. It has blood thinning side effects which could be the source of your bleeding. If the bleeding is even moderate, I suggest you discontinue use and immediately scheudle a follow up appointment with your provider. If bleeding is very mild, such as you simply bleed more if you cut yourself, i would take note and mention upon your next appointment.
3145189 tn?1343157421 I remember the pain after my third was horrible. I felt like I was in labor for the following week. Now having my fourth... Should I expect worse? Has anyone found methods to ease this??
Avatar f tn We have not been able to isolate a trigger for the Afib other than his controlled blood pressure. Now I am reading that a side effect of Naproxen use is high blood pressure. Has any one else encountered this?
Avatar n tn Femara and similar drugs in its class really have musculo-skeletal symptoms as the main side effects. This drug can cause decrease in bone density and bone mass leading to osteoporosis and sometimes increased tendency to have fractures.
Avatar n tn Celexa is a more preferred drug for OCD at a low dose for children. This drug seems to work the best with the fewest side effects. If you don't mind what type of OCD subject is it?
1523516 tn?1330044257 Do any of you take neurontin and naproxen together. Any side effects. I'm having issues and don't know if I'm getting a virus or this is a reaction. Thank you so much!
Avatar m tn m not sure if Zofran is used in children but you could ask. Tetrabenzene is used but that has some serious side effects so that might not be for children either. But there are other medications as well. Clonidine in patch form (Catapres) is especially helpful for tic like motions (tardive tourreticism which is a variant of tardive dyskinesia I have as well). I am on Tenex which is helpful as well. I believe both of those are used in children.
454366 tn?1211245301 Litium did give me a hyperactive thyroid condition. The med I was given for that has a side effect of osteoporosis in the lumbar in long term use (Synthroid). I ended up with litium toxicity a few years back because diuretics will cause that. As you know caffine is a diuretic (soft drinks) - which most kiddo's I know tend to drink. I would not allow litium to be given to my child; not going through what I have with it. I have a son who is ADHD.
Avatar n tn Hi, I am 36 years old and have been taking Oxycodone(no tylenol) 5mg. x2 twice daily for two years. I have sever back pain from a car accident 15 years ago. I have been on and off oxy for the whole time but never for longer than a couple weeks until two years ago when the pain didn't go away. There is nothing they can do surgically to fix it so I have had to rely on meds. My dosage has gone up since I've been on it to help with the pain, I'm sure from my tolerance going up.
