bactroban

Avatar m tn Also, I have now contracted c-diff from the antibiotic treatment and am now taking vancomycin for this condition. Would proper treatment for the herpes interfere with this treatment. Thank you so very much for your concern and assistance.
974371 tn?1424653129 Next day the one on my arm was filled up again so called my PCP. He did a culture, prescribed generic Bactrim and generic Bactroban. I did as instructed and just finished the Bactrim. ( good thing I took it! I hate taking meds). Anyway, doctor called me this evening to say it was Staph/MRSA and the Bactrim was the right antibiotic. Scared the hell out of me ( ESP with all the news coverage of that poor girl).
Avatar n tn ( Do you know anything that will help me rid myself of this mrsa mess!!! I will be going in to the Dr. tomm to see about bactroban for my nose. I use dial regularly & keep a clean & disinfected home! ***** but I'm not gonna let it ruin my life. I have 3 beautiful sons & a loving Husband. All gifts from God! Any thing you can tell me I would appreciate. Again Thank You for all you do!
Avatar n tn I work in an outpatient surgery center. We have never had a MRSA case but the Dr.'s are increasingly concerned about the rise in MRSA cases nationally. We are contemplating changing our prep to include betadine solution diluted with sterile saline placed in the cul-de-sac and left for 30 seconds. Any input?
Avatar m tn If those things are not the problem you may have resistance to the antibiotic they gave you. The treatment for community acquired MRSA (if you have that) is now daptomycin plus tigecycline. Otherwise, you can get resistance and the staph grows back. Also, once they treat you bleach down the sink and wash bedding and clean any areas that might have come in contact. Even disinfect your bike seat and don't go to the gym. You can get it there unless you are very careful.
Avatar m tn Generally no treatment is required but they become painful then it means they are infected,Then surgical excision by traditional wide excision, minimal excision, and punch biopsy excision may be required. This is followed by a course of oral antibiotics. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn You need to get her into doctor as it could be MRSA but in any case it is highly contagious and she will need antibiotics for it. Try to not share towels and wash anything in contact with it in hot soapy water. Wash hands frequently. Try to keep her hands off of it.
Avatar f tn I have been to 3 different ENTs, one tested me for staph - came back moderate staph (not MRSA) and took Keflex for 10 days-no improvement. Tested again 5 days after last culture and came back negative. Said I should use Bacitracin for a year as Bactroban burned. (I am allergic to all antibiotics but 2 and most other drugs-happens over time) 2nd ENT said Bacitracin irritates and easy to get allergic to it. Already allergic to Neosporin.
Avatar m tn ENT said I had some colonies in nose soUsed Bacrtoban for 3 days and slight pain in my nose went away per ENT. I stopped the bactroban after 3 days because I was not sleeping but I was also using Nasocort and maybe that was the culprit. Cold gone sinus not infected but having some pain that feels like a tooth ache and slight tickle or sting in nostrils when breathing. Left septum is a little enlarged.
441951 tn?1275762988 On the 5th of April I came out in lumps/sores, head and neck. Tests showed a Penecillin resistant Staff infection. My GP has given me 4 courses of anti's from the Penecillin family. None of which have worked. (Go figure) It's coming up on the end of August, there's no sign of the specialists appointment with the Hep C Doc which I took tests for 3 months back. I'd thought if I could hold it off I'd wait for the dude that know's what he's doing. But no.
Avatar f tn I have had 4 FESS over the years and was just diagnosed with MRSA in my sinuses. My MD started me on Bactrum 800 mg BID for 3 weeks and Bactroban nasal solution. I do sinus washes often and have increased recently. Any other suggestions?
Avatar f tn Follow the package insert. And see if they go away. Mupirocin (Bactroban) topical will also kill MRSA (I think this is prescription only). So there are lots of topicals that can kill it if you actually got it. They probably would give you an oral pill if you are not allergic to sulfa drugs Bactrim works and many other antibiotics. So try not to worry just because it could be MRSA. I think you just have pimples.
Avatar m tn Hi, has there been any research in the effectiveness of this oil on skin infections such as MRSA? My Dad has had confirmed MRSA. I have had a bad infection in my finger, from a cut, and Mum now has a Sty in the eye. I have been using various Antibiotics and Bactroban cream. As the infection is clearing up I have switched to using Chamomile Oil. I had used it for a day before all the antibiotics and it had quite a positive effect. I ran out of this oil and the infection worsened.
Avatar m tn This is going on five weeks now, and Im not getting any better. The MRSA swab came back negative and the blood test didn’t show much. Somebody please help me!! This has really affected my life and career and nobody in Australia seems to know how to cure this. Thank you…..
Avatar f tn Has anyone been able to fight this off with hep-c.My sis just found out she has mrsa and staph pneunomia. She is now in isolation! can you fight this with a bad case of hep-c?
Avatar f tn Saw my PMD yesterday morning, he diagnosed it as folliculitis and is concerned about CA-MRSA b/c one of the tiny bumps got red and swollen, so he took a swab. So I've been taking for the past 36 hours: Augentin BID (allergic to Bactrim), Pepcid BID, Atarax TID, Bactroban ointment to the spots I scratched open BID as well as my daily meds (Synthroid 50mcg ad omeprazole 20mg). New spots are popping up everywhere--forearms, underarms, back, stomach, buttocks..and the itching is worse!
577106 tn?1219839345 t know if this is were I should be posting this question, but there are no forums for MRSA or staph so I took a chance. If I need to be in another forum please let me know and I will look there. On to my question..so is MRSA curable? If the bacteria shows sensitivity to an antibiotic is the antibiotic more likely to kill the germ? My problem is I have read on the internet and been told two different things, yes it can and no it can't. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn all this went away for about a month. now it is back. im worried the mrsa is active again. does she need more antibiotics. i know mrsa is resistant to most antibiotics, but shouldnt you try them to see if they will work?
Avatar m tn Also found out she had MRSA also then I got it. Went too the Gas. specialist doctor. She told me MRSA goes away with in a year. I do not know if this is true. I have not had any major infections or break outs. Keep my skin pretty clean and cuts covered. The doctor said i look like I healed up pretty good. But with the hep c will the MSRA be in the way preventing me from taking the medication for hep c? My viral overload count is low. Just have to do the biopsy.

Avatar n tn My daughter who is just graduated high school has had 4 cases of MRSA in the last 12 months. She was last treated with a nasal antibiotic; twice daily for 5 days. While cleaning her room I found 3 unused doses... will this make the treatment less effective & can the MRSA return? She also wants to get her belly button pierced which I think is unwise given her recent health history. Am I overreacting & what are the potential health risks?
Avatar f tn Re: MRSA treatment. A failed total hip arthoplasty revision developed mrsa and caused hugh cysts in my leg and groin. After surgery and large open wounds, I was on vancomycin home IV for 8 wks but developed a rash. Now have finished 2 yrs on daily antibiotic (minocycline and levaquin).
1488562 tn?1288826355 What kind of doctor has been treating you for your infections all summer? It seems to me that a case of MRSA would call for the best antibiotic treatment they can come up with, especially if it is in your lungs. I don't know if a GI will treat it because GI stands for gastro-intestinal, and none of your infections are in that part of the body. You may need an infectious disease doctor.
