mri-scan

Avatar m tn After that I was unable to flex my right knee due to pain but I could manage to walk. Upon x ray and MRI scan it was diagnosed as avulsion fracture of posterior cruciate ligament and the fraction bed was 0.1mm. I was applied with POP bandage over the right leg (no surgery done) and advised bed rest. After the treatment period stepping up and down on stair case was difficult for me and slowly felt crepitating noise from the same knee.

Avatar f tn I have had a transvaginal scan, a sigmoidoscopy, a kidney scan, a chest xray, a xray of pelvis spine and left hip. And a mri of pelvis, spine and left hip. The only thing that has come to light is my lumber spine has a slight curve. I am now being sent for bone scans of hip, groin, spine and knee. I still have the left knee pain which the orphapedic said may need an operation see what the bone scans show up.
Avatar f tn Hi...just a suggestion...u can request a copy of the MRI on disk...and a copy of the report....u will get it b4 u see the dr that rx'd it. Not that u can read it, but if u r sent to a specialist u will have everything u need!!
Avatar f tn The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the four major ligaments of the knee, and resists forward movement of the tibia. If this is a new injury, treat with RICE -- rest, ice, compression, and elevation. NSAIDs can help with pain and swelling, although, always take NSAIDs with food. My son destroyed an ACL playing football -- he lives a normal life without one, but uses an orthopaedic knee brace when he runs or plays sports.
Avatar f tn I went to my orthopedic Thursday and she read my mri herself because the radiologist says there is a tear but she says it could be normal because what the radiologist believe is a tear could be normal blood flow in adolescents. Plus my symptoms don't totally coincide with a tear. She believes my knee is completely normal. But I don't believe a normal knee should hurt this much. What could it be? I have popping, pain which is from soreness to sharp and stabbing and sometimes burning.
Avatar f tn The pain will come with walking, sometimes very quickly and sometimes not much at all. When the pain comes, I have a swelling on the outside of the knee joint about the size of half a golf ball. When I rest the swelling and pain go away within 10 or 20 minutes. This doesn't sound like arthritis to me. A two-fold question, would these symptoms be consistent with AO? Or do these symptoms sound more like damage to the meniscus? Also...
Avatar f tn Back at the beginning of december i injured my knee. I had been about to kneel down when my leg gave out and i landed on my knee with it bent in a very awkward way. I had swelling and great amounts of pain and dull ache and after seeing a doctor in A&E was booked for an mri scan and put into a lockable brace which i wore for around 6 weeks as he was sure i'd suffered mcl injury. The scan showed no cartilage damage and no real mcl damage which was suspected.
Avatar f tn Say about a month after that, I had had a blackout one night (from way too much drinking) I think I fell over, my knee felt so heavy like i was wearing a boot, and i had pins and needles up adn down my leg (still able to feel leg etc just felt heavy) I went to specialist and had an MRI on knee performed showing a small tear in my miniscus (knee ligament) He said not to operate as operating never helps So as of right now i'm back to worrying as #1 I was suffering exstreme migrains, up back
Avatar m tn t help, as she would wake up in the night complaining about the pain, the doctor opted for MRI. First normal MRI was done and then with contrast. The radiologist's report advised that biopsy should be done. at that point we consulted an ortho-pediatrician who advised a CT Scan, which according to the radiologist wasn't' conclusive. Now we have been advised to do the Bone Scan. Can anyone help us in diagnosis. If it's a tumor, someone please tell us it's not malignant.
Avatar f tn (I am seeing a military doctor overseas and they advised I get it looked at once I am back in the states, so maybe the scan was limited) Any advice or an idea as to what could be growing on my knee?
Avatar m tn I went straight to my GP and was booked in for a MRI scan. The results came back. There is an oblique degenerative tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus. 15.4x7.3mm intercondylar notch cyst abutting the posterior margin of the root of the PCL. Moderate knee joint effusion. Normal retropatellar cartilage. Noosteochondral Injury. Will I need surgery or will it heel on its own? Help please.
Avatar n tn My mom told me to give special thanks to your recommendation. She will see doctor today and will ask him to order that kind of scan if possible. Thank you!!!
Avatar m tn In all probability you have a torn ligament or cartilage in the knee that was missed in the initial stage because of a more obvious fracture. You ideally need a MRI of the knee which may not be possible since you have metallic rod. However, please ask your doctor regarding this. They may take you up for ultrasound of the knee. Usually this will be treated with knee braces, rest, physiotherapy and corticosteroid injections. Surgical repair may be advised for a few.
Avatar m tn I can lie on my left side as long as I have a pillow between my legs, and even then I need to move my legs every few seconds/minutes (depending on the severity of the pain). I have had CT scan of back, MRI of back, xrays of hip, knee, foot, ultrasound of groin.. all came back normal. This started when I was masturbating and felt a dull pain in my right groin.
Avatar f tn i have seen several and they say there is noting they can do. i have to go to a pine clininc. they have done all test such as ct mri bone scan ultrasound, and nothing shows up. i dont know what do. im at a dead end. im looking at six months at the paine clinc. i would rather have surgry thean be away from my family for that long. im wondering if they missed something an all those test.
Avatar m tn Hi, About 10 wks ago I had a headache for about 4 days and on the final day I awoke with pins and needles in both hands. The next day I came down with a really bad fever/flu which I can only describe as being like glandular fever. I had this once before as a teenager. Anyway, I could barely swallow, night sweats for about 2 wks. Extreme fatigue. I have had the numbness in the hands in the morning on and off since but it is certainly better now.
Avatar m tn Hi, my name is james and I'm 27 and I was wondering if you can help me at all for my knee. For about 6 years before my injury that happened in about 2011 I was training, competing and doing demonstrations in a sport combining martial arts and gymnastics at high level.
Avatar n tn I have two questions can you please explain in laymen terms. 1. This is what was in the nuclear Medicene doctors finding report, "There is photopenic defect involving the metallic right toe knee arthroplasty hardware". I took this as meaning there is an issue with the hardware on my knee replacement which has cause scare tissue. What else are they trying to say?
Avatar m tn After several months off, with no soccer and only minimal rehabing in the training room (due to mass amount of swelling and pain) a surgeon scoped my knee in November and took out 2-3 plica and a ton of scar tissue. After three weeks of healing and feeling great, the same pain as before came back except for more intense.
