Avatar f tn Can you please explain my MRI of the brain done with and without contrast please: On T2 weighted and FLAIR sequences, there are multiple subcentimeter round ovoid foci of high signal in the right frontal lobe periventricular white matter, in addition to several subcentimeter lesions in the periventricular and subcortical white matter in the left frontal lobe and the subcortical white matter in the posterior right frontal lobe.
Avatar f tn Headaches after a brain injury can also be due to concussion, and normally CT and MRI are normal. However, yes, MRI should be done to rule out brain injury as the cause. Stress due to concussion and brain injury can also be the cause. Also get your blood pressure checked. Take care!
Avatar n tn I had a brain mri scan for recurrent 'auras' thought to be due to migraine. The result of the scan came back normal except for a few spots of plaques. I am 50, is this normal? I am concerned that it is indicative of early degeneration associated with dementia.
Avatar f tn I had a cat scan and blood test that showed a lesion on my brain. My doctor the had me get an MRI brain scan which his nurse said came back normal. Then why do I still feel like my brain has been scrambled ,and I just don't feel good overall?
Avatar m tn His GP ordered a brain MRI but it came back normal. Would a regular radiologist diagnose Chiari if he is not looking for it? I described his symptoms to a friend and she mention Chiari as her friends daughter received that diagnosis. He is having bradycardia, tired all the time, headaches that make him throw up, render him unconscious, he then comes to but and you know he can hear you but he can't talk or move for at least 5 minutes.

Avatar m tn Hi I had a MR scan of my brain a couple of weeks ago as I had vertigo’s episodes some times . According to my doctor the MR results shows some unspecified gliosis. He said this is not a major problem, as it can be associated to some sleeping disorders and nothing with the vertigo. Do you agree with this opinion or I should check with a neurologist?
Avatar f tn A CT scan and MRI are pretty much the tests that will find a tumor- if you've had 3 scans that have been normal I would think everything is okay.
Avatar m tn The brain parenchyma has normal signal characteristics. The ventricles are normal in size and position. There is no evidence of acute infarct, intracranial hematoma, extraaxial fluid collection, or mass effect. There is no cerebellar tonsillar herniation. Expected arterial flow-voids are present. No abnormal enhancement. The paranasal sinuses, mastoid air cells, and middle ears are clear. The orbital contents are within normal limits. No significant osseous or scalp lesions are identified.
Avatar f tn I tolerated the symptoms until the last year and the have gotten worse, again The MRI scans I have show no brain lesions. Again I get lets wait and see. I am getting to old and to tired of these answers, can someone please tell me what my next step should be?
Avatar f tn Hi, last year I had an MRI scan. I was having it as the Dr was looking to see if I had an AVM on the brain, I get a lot of headaches and have an AVM on my right forearm. When I went to see the Dr he told me my results, he said there is a malformation there but it isnt an AVM. He then pointed to the temporal lobes and said they are low. I should of asked him what that meant, but I never ask questions when Im there, I just say to myself I should of asked this and I should of asked that.
Avatar n tn I'm 21 weeks pregnant, I didn't have my 1st scan until I was 18 weeks where I discovered I was carrying twins, unfortunately I lost one of the babys around 11 weeks.
Avatar m tn Sometimes a dye may be injected into a vein to highlight blood flow in your arteries and veins, CT angiogram and provide additional detail regarding appearance of brain aneurysm. MRI can create detailed images of your brain and show aneurysm’s location. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar n tn ve been told that contrast is injected only when something is seen on a normal scan to give further detail. I had my mri results reviewed by a radiologist and two neurologists just in case someone failed to spot something, is it safe to assume it's not a tumor? Thanks.
Avatar n tn So I went to the Emergency room on Friday because I experienced lightheadness and some burning feeling in the side of my face. They ordered a CBC, EKG and Ct scan of my brain. All test came back normal. Now my question is, should I be content with the results of the CT scan? My PCP is sending me to Neurologist to check things out.
2699259 tn?1344210945 t show on all the scans and one vein thats very squiggly looking, other then that it seems normal to me (comparing pictures of a normal scan). Any thoughts on this?
Avatar f tn I went and saw my family doctor about my migraines and he decided to refer me to a neurologist and asked that I get a CT scan. While waiting for the neurologist to get to me, now the nurse calls me and say that I need a MRI before going to see the neurologist. There was no mention of the MRI prior to this phone call and I wanted to make sure that this is necessary. I don't have money to waste! ;) Doesn't a MRI and CT scan basically do the same thing?
Avatar n tn What does it mean when a brain cat scan says "patchy decreased attenuation in the periventricular white matter' ? my mother was on a brief does of an antipsychotic . Is this recovery from this?
Avatar f tn full blood count and cpr i think there was another one too but cant remember, its not the fatique thats the worst part is the feeling in my head as its so strong when it happens and it happens about 5 hours a day it really feels awfull and when i read about brain tumours it says people have said they had a weird feeling thats hard to describe to the dr when they had a brain tumour, the dr i got at the moment i really doubt will give me a ct scan or mri scan as he only offerd me a blood test when i
Avatar f tn My stroke doctor has told me that my basal ganglia has been affected by multiple strokes. I have had 12 CT brain scans and one MRI brain scan. Now he says I am no to have any more and for him to be notified whenever I am taken to hospital. I read that basal ganglia problems can be caused by radiation, so I am thinking that this is the reason for my problems-which affect my brain activity and walking.
Avatar n tn They can however, detect mental illness such as scitzophreneia which i know because i was diagnosed through an MRI. The only mental illness an MRI scan able detect is an actually different brain connections than that of a normal brain. Ive had one done for mental illess! Can you describe some of your symptoms, what you feel and how often yolou feel it? I know your question is based on needing to know where to get a private MRI scan, which i am unsure of!!
Avatar f tn If your symptoms persist, you should follow up with your doctor to discuss if you might benefit from any other lab and/or imaging tests, including but not limited to MRI brain with and without contrast.
