Hi there, what I think you have is cold urticaria, in which there is an inflammatory response to a drop in temperature, with increased circulation of histamines. These reaction could be life threatening. What you need to do is to keep yourself warm, and not being exposed to sudden drops in temperature. You might want to use oral antihistamines to relieve the allergy.
You could stop the medications in consultation with your doctor , but do keep some antihistamine medications at hand for use in case of a sudden flare up of symptoms.

Next time when itching start take an antihistamine pill (like Benadryl). If this will help you, it means you have physical urticaria (allergy to heat in your case).

Patients with cold urticaria should learn to protect themselves from a rapid drop in body temperature.Antihistaminics like Claritin and zyrtec can also be taken. The antihistamine cyproheptadine (Periactin) has been found to be a useful treatment also.
my mom she is 48 yrs old and has been using hair dye for almost 15yrs.for the past 6 yrs she got allergy.whenever she applies it she gets urticaria sort of thing all over the skin.her face becomes red.and she feels her bloodpressure is low.gradually this has become severe and now she cant even use bleach creams.now even if she is not using these products she gets allergy on and off....can u plz help me ....
Hi. I have hives(urticaria) almost everyday for 12 weeks or so. I've seen 2 dermatologists. I've been on xyzal,doxepine and hydroxyzine with little or any real benefit. The hives are red and itch. They come and go. Other than that I have no other problems. My doc said they usually never find a reason and most go away over time. No blood tests ordered. Anyone have any suggestions? It's annoying.
