today i saw a pain mngmt dr, he took me off hydrocodone 7.7/500mg, and tramadol 50mg, i was allowed 4 vicodins a day and up to 8 tramadol. i have an appt to see him next thursday to, He put me on morphine sulfate IR 1m mg, 1 tab 2x's a day and morphine sulfate 30 mg CR 1 tab 2x's a day, I hope i get better and longer relief. My question will these new meds help any thoughts?

I have been on opiats daily since November 2008 and have been on Morphine CR and immediate release since the last surgery. I want off of them and need to know how to do it. I take the CR once in AM and once in PM and have weened myself down to only 3 of the immediate release per day. Where do I go from here?

I havent had one since sundayat noon but took a morphine cr yesterday at noon. I feel okay today except for diarrhea and the want for pills. When should i expect the worst?

So my pain management doc wants to do a trial morphine pump bc nothing else is really working. Nothing, I have tried just about everything.....fentynal patch, etc. I am currently on Lortab, Soma, xanex, neurotin and ambeim cr 12.5, yes, the pain is 24/7 so I am asking for adcice on the pump! Plzzzzzzzzz all who are on it plzzzzzzz advise! Thank you so much. PS. I am sick of all the pills!

Doc put me on 15 mg Morphine Sulphate CR, I am hoping someone here has taken it and can tell me what I can expect. I am a bit frightened to take such a heavy duty pain med. Will I get dizzy, extremely tired, will I still be able to function? Any help is appreciated.

hey dude...the only way to do this is to go completely off everything...it won't be easy...but it is doable. you are surrounded by folks doing the same thing and doing it successfully. Just keep posting...and keep clean...it will get better...

Hi yes it is normal behavior for Morphine, when you first start it your on top of the world then comes irritation and depression and even nightmares for some. How much is he on? How long? and dose he want to quit?

I have been taking Morphine sulfate for several years. In the past year, I have had to increase my dosage and now take 30 mgs IR 4 times a day and 30 mgs CR at night. I know my body is "dependent" on this medication, but I am not an abuser. I always follow the prescription and most times take less than prescribed. 2 days ago, I started experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms. My doctor authorized me to take up to 6 IR a day if needed.

does anyone think that ambien cr will help with sleep while going through withdrawls???

Thank you both for answering my concerns. I actually had an appt this morning with my Primary Dr. and she has put me on 30mg of Morphine Sulfate CR. 2x's/Daily and Gabapentin 300mg, which i work up from 1 in evening to 3 per day and use the Oxy for break-thru pain when needed.

Anyone have any experience with having a baby after using morphine cr? I only use one 30mg pill every 24 hours. I have multiple bone fractures from race injuries and without morphine, Im in intolerable pain with extremely high blood pressure. when on the med, I have moderate pain and great blood pressure. I just want to know any experiences of women who have had a baby while on the morphine. I want to know good or bad. birth defects or none and withdrawal or not. .

fibromyalgia but I am going to have back surgery for stenosis and want to stop my narcotic meds. I have morphine cr 45mg 3x/day which I asked to change due to side effects. Dr put me on Oxycodone 20mg 4x/day. After my back surgery recuperation I want to stop the meds. Which one should I be on for an easier withdrawal. I am scared because I have been on this for ages. When I have the surgery I can ask the dr to use the med that would be easier for me to withdraw so what do you think.

Diane I am on 60 mg. Morphine Sulfate CR. twice a day. This a time release pill which last for 12 hrs. I have been on some kind of Morphine for 8 yrs. I was on a time release morphine capsule for several years ( name slips me now) it was excellent. One capsule every 12 hrs. Ask your Dr. about it .

I have tried Fentanyl maybe 5 yrs. ago...it didn't seem to work...could have been too modest a dosage by the physician...I mean, how do you know...but I think spitfire was the best answer...I've been on methadone/morphine mix, the latter for breakthrough pain, so because of pain seeming worse, the doc incr. methadone by 20mg/day, and I start feeling just like spitfire described opana...don't need that, although doc offered it.

I am also on the cymbalta, just switched from klonopin to valium, was on xanax before that. I'm taking morphine 30 mg cr with percocet for breakthrough pain. I've tried the lyrica, side effects too much for me, can't really tell if the cymbalta is working or not. Seems that even with the morphine, I'm still in a lot of pain 24/7. I too have been getting worse over the past year or so.

I am currently taking Morphine 100mg /cr twice daily for severe RA and Fibromyalgia pain. I have noticed an unwanted side effect to the medication. AT night when I retire to bed and try to relax, I start having sudden/ moderately severe jerks or twitches all over my body, but only one area at a time. I know for a fact it is the morphine because as soon as I 've gone off it and put on something else, this jerking and twitching immediatley stops.

Hi all, Just wondering, is there any 1 out there that has had a positive experience with Paxil CR. I read alot of horror stories and am just wondering if it has actually helped anyone. You see, I have had panic disorder my whole life. I am 51 now. I was put on Paxil CR a few years ago and I thought it was a miracle drug. Totally got rid of my panic attacks. Still have some anxiety but am menopausal also.

I want to wean myself off the Norpace Cr , how do I do that and what is the safest way ?

I am on Morphine CR for RA and have noticed that it gives me a side effect of having sudden jerks that occur in my legs and arms mostly, but have even noticed in other areas such as abdoman or neck. It somewhat reminds of restless leg syndrome, but not quite because it's all extremities and it's more like that jerk when your about to fall asleep that brings you abruptly out of sleep.

I went against my better judgement and took 1 ultram CR a day for a month and went through w/d and I wasnt even hooked on them. Terrible drug and drs arent even aware of what they are prescribing!!!!

Due to insurance changes, my doc has changed me to Luvox CR. My usual dose of Luvox is 150 mg once a day. The Luvox CR comes in 100 mg capsules. Would it be okay to take 200 mg of Luvox CR on one day and 100 mg of Luvox CR the next, and alternate since I can't divide the capsules? Thank you.

Some of you have read my story, was taking percs 10/325 and morphine (avinza) 60 mg. This last script I got of percs I finished in 1 1/2 weeks. I couldn't believe it. I had the morphine to last so I didn't go into w/ds from the percs. Well it has been about three weeks w/ no percs. But on Sat I took my last avinza. I felt okay, sat and sun, but today the wds have kicked in. I am feeling achy, diarehha, anxious and have RLS which just started tonight.

ive been on oxycodone(oxycontin CR) for 6 years , 80mg 2x daily now for 3 years , and this is just not controlling my pain . Is the opana er a reasonable choice if i was to begin a different med for chronic pain relief from several back/spinal conditions which continue to worsen year after year? And what is the exchange rate for oxycontin 80 mg cr to opana er ?

my wife hated it when I was on that she rather me just on Morphine anyday.
