Avatar f tn My dr put me on diazepam to relax my uterus as I had an allergic reaction to the meds he gave me to stop my preterm labour. But I read on google diazepam is valium and bad when your pregnant. Has anyone been on this before? Was baby ok when born?
Avatar n tn all took requip for restless legs Valium for anxiety and clonidine for blood pressure and morphine for pain 30mg god help all of us and god touch our minds
525732 tn?1213046071 Well, first of all i know what i would tell your husband. Who cares what he wants or doesn't like. Look at the mess you are in. Sounds like you need to go and speak with a doctor and explain that you want to get off the morphine. Don't forget to tell him about this husband also who is obviously causing you alot of anxiety.
680303 tn?1239984840 Your taking Morphine time release you should not cut in half... Also taking Valium , Tramadol and your stomach is swelling My advice would be to go back to your Dr. tell him you want off the Morphine get your Liver checked out as it could be enlarged... I would also talk to him about the Tramadol as it is not good for long term pain.. You will need to taper off the Valium he/she could also help you with this.. You will receive support here on whatever choices you make..
Avatar f tn t imagine not having something. I also take Neurontin and Valium. The Valium helps alot with the anxiety and helps the overactive nerves relax which seems to help with the pain some. I've actually found that sleep is my best medicine, but that is hard to come by when the pain levels are high. Ambien helps with that, but my grumpy doctor took that away too! I think if I can get off the morphine, I might be able to get the Ambien back at least on a part-time basis.
Avatar n tn I looked up the Thomas recipe, and printed it out, thanks for suggesting it. I do have a script for Valium, I took one this am, it has helped. I'm going to my local health food store in the morning to purchase the ingredients for Thomas's recipe. I've suffered from 5 rupted disks and went to pain management which prescribed 10/325 Norco and 15mg morphine. At first I took as prescribed, then..... More was better, then the vicious circle began.
1472677 tn?1330175915 Douglas has been off his morphine and vicoden for 18 days now and his 6th day off of valium. The valium is not a good one to get off of for he is still having chest pains , heart palpitations, no sleep, blurred vision now. He made it clear he does not want a doctor at all. Where does that leave me when something bad happens. How can I get through to him?
Avatar f tn I've been taking valium for years and I would get too stressed out and wouldn't be able to sleep without it. It's a pretty safe, old school benzo and I usually only take it as needed at night. It looks like it is safe with Harvoni. If I get my tx I will probably never need tylenol but it looks like small doses would be OK. I'll ask the doc but to tell the truth, you folks here know more! And I'm not changing docs now and starting over! Dixielady, sorry about the hi-jack.
1472677 tn?1330175915 My fiance is detoxing off off valium and is still detoxing from morphine and vicoden and is doing great om them but the valium seems to make things worse. Is it to soon to detox from the valium?
1718535 tn?1311646370 The answer to your question is valium is no longer popularly prescribed because of political hysteria and irrrational drug laws. Valium is an exceedinly safe drug. Taken by itself you can get into little trouble. Used ocasionally, especially for anxiety, there should be no contraindications whatsoever. The downside is that it tends to slow reflexes and makes driving hazardous and becomes somewhat addictive.
Avatar f tn thanks so much- strange that xanax is stronger than valium. I've taken both in the past and find that valium REALLY relaxed me and hit me- whereas xanax really did nothing but make me sleepy and they were the strong ones too! I've never had a problem with them though- so am not worried at all about another addiction. But as I said- I have NO idea if I'll even feel wd's after I taper down and then jump.
Avatar m tn In 2009 I had a on the job accident a 600 pound machine fell on me and broke my leg in 7 places and broke my back. I had 3 surgeries a titanium rod that goes from my knee to my ankle and a staple and titanium cage in my spine now. I have screws in my knee ankle and spine.
Avatar f tn I was afraid to take Valium with the Morphine and went 3 days without taking any Valium and I got severe out of the blue panic attacks and I felt like I was going to die on several occassions when driving home from work. The half-life of Klonopin is comparable to Valium (48 to 58 hours) so you won't feel the withdrawals right away. I take 3 mg of Valium a day. I tapered from 5 mg prior to starting Morphine. I am glad you are experiencing a lot less pain.
Avatar f tn I have this 10 mg methadone pills, the morphine 100 mg extended release(Its a capsule,so I can open it and measure approximately, and morphine 30 mg immediate release. I really hate the sweating of the abstinence,is there something that helps it?what other drug(benzos or else)can help me to stop? I have time, and I'm not running out of the meds, but really want to quit...help!!!
Avatar m tn I recently was on MS Contin (long acting morphine) and my PCP allowed me to take Valium at HS with the MS Contin. Obviously Valium and Xanax are similar. She had me take it first in the day time a few times when my husband was home to see how it would affect me. I did not have a problem with the two medications. So I think it is a probability that you can take them together but keep in mind that they both depress the respiratory system.
Avatar n tn 1. Valium (or another benzodiazepine such as Klonopin, Librium, Ativan or Xanax). Of these, Valium and Klonopin are best suited for tapering since they come in tablet form. Librium is also an excellent detox benzo, but comes in capsules, making it hard to taper the dose. Ativan or Xanax should only be used if you can't get one of the others. 2. Imodium (over the counter, any drug or grocery store). 3. L-Tyrosine (500 mg caps) from the health food store. 4.
Avatar n tn Am I kidding myself and just an addict with regular withdrawal symptoms? Is it possible to use morphine regularly and NOT be an addict. I certainly don't feel like one.
Avatar f tn If at all possible, you really should see a doctor. But, if you're not going to, then you seem to have an armory of meds available to mitigate withdrawal symptoms--but you are going to have WDs regardless, there's no way around that. I know you know that, but, maybe try (and I'm not a doctor, so this is not medical advice!
1472677 tn?1330175915 The valium is the hardest he says and being under weight and already is detoxing off of morphine and vicoden. I am learning more and more and I thank you again for your response...God bless you...
Avatar n tn I have suspected and confronted him a month or so back b/c I thought he had been high on morphine- which he had easy access to. He said he though he must be having a stroke. He went to the er and they found nothing. They said there was a chance it was i TIA but were not sure. He had been caring for his mother who was on liquid morphine. His mother has now passed and we were sharing a hotel room. We both woke up had coffee, we'd both been up for about 1 and half-hours.
Avatar m tn There were some occassions when I forget to take the neurontin in the evening 1 1/2 to 2 hours before bedtime so I would just take it with my valium, morphine, and remeron (anti-depressant) right before bed and when I did that my heart would start racing and pounding like it wanted to jump out of my chest!! It lasted for an hour and I was up tossing and turning because I couldn't sleep!
Avatar m tn Valium is the safest and if u use it sparingly and it will help u succeed...go for it...you can even take quarters of a 10 mg tablet and it will help if u do not have a tolerence to them....get some theanine as well..200 mg can take the edge off ..maybe just get like 10 or so and see how it goes...
Avatar n tn Ok, I've been doing morphine for 2 years, and have been slowing weening myself off for maybe 2 months but something serious has come up... I have to leave the country in 2weeks (for 7 days). I don't have a perscription for it and I'm taking this as a sign that now is indeed the time. Problem is I'm terrified! I've been taking around 50mg a day(more or less depending on the day), pill form. I'm wondering what the best way to do this is?
680303 tn?1239984840 I intend to get off the morphine I am on, which is 30 mg 2x a day and valium (it depends) maybe I take bewtween 10-30 mg a day.
Avatar f tn Happened as taken off opiates with suboxone for 5 days (not long enough) given amt of opiates and time period. Then back on valium to 60/dy back down to 40mg/day and then 25% - 50% drops monthly then weekly. Not on anything period. Had 4 advil yesterday; none today.
19681337 tn?1531695242 Hi everyone. I'm scheduled to get my surgery in less than 2 months on May 17th (prayers are appreciated) and I'm nervous about the pain meds afterward. I'm going to be on morphine and I've never had surgery before or ever taken any pain medicine stronger than over-the-counter. I've heard a lot of people react badly to the meds, can anyone who has had surgery tell me about their experience? Thank you all, God bless.
