Avatar n tn I have been taking about 40-50mg a day of morphine intravenously for about a month. I'd like to stop and would like to know how intense of withdraw symptoms I should expect if I quit cold turkey. I've done research on the web but haven't come up with any conclusive answers. thanks!
Avatar m tn I am on Day two and just started my tapering from my Dr. instructions. Last night i tried Nyquil and a melatonin pill to help me sleep. Well it did knock me out for about 5 hours than i woke up with RLS and anxiety. Now i need to know what else can i try to sleep through the night. I noticed i was better this morning with more sleep. My friend is going to help me with some of his Valrium Root. Has anyone heard of this stuff.
720923 tn?1230542681 although i dont recommend taking the benedryl with the nyquil unless u read the back of the nyquil and it doesnt have any antihistamines in it. Nyquil tastes nasty..lol...i took the benedryl and ibuprophen...oh yea...pepto for the upset stomach...this is a quick fix for withdrawals but not a substitute for professional help..i've detoxed off of dilaudid, but i did what i suggested to you when i was dope sick to get me through....good luck on suboxone although i dont agree with it..
Avatar f tn The vicodin will prolong the withdrawals. Your body simply converts Vicodin into morphine, chemically there's little difference in most opiates. Strength and time release is the main difference. You're not at an extremely high dose and morphine is fast acting, so it should leave the body pretty fast also. You're 2 days in, hunker down and wait it out. You'll start feeling better in a few days. Vitamins, minerals, and amino acids help a lot.
10746163 tn?1412523935 Thanks Barb for responding, I have an appointment set up for a MMR shot with my DR office on Tuesday, so I will be talking with them about my sickness as well. I don't think I will be getting my shot either, just a guess. But I just need something to get me by the next 2 days and thought I'd find out about what the side effects were if I took the Nyquil, I just don't want any complications in the process. I took the Nyquil last night anyways and slept for awhile.
Avatar n tn anti-histamines are most commonly used for allergies such as benadryl, but is often found in OTC sleep aids, and some older anti-histamines have anxiolytic effects, and many other uses. Taking nyquil every so often will help you get to sleep and stay a sleep due to a cold or irritation, but its not relally useful for insomnia. theres where more prescription sleepaids come into the mix, but enough rambling, your body will still burn calories while you sleep if you take nyquil...
Avatar n tn m getting over the flu and have used nyquil through the years for flu and colds etc. It is 10% alcohol or the generic brands are. It can't be good for you to take it every night. Can you start weaning your doses down and get off it. Your sleep should return to normal I would think after a few nights without it.
Avatar n tn I think it *is* likely your medicine extravaganza during your bronchitis may have temporarily elevated your liver enzymes. Just go get retested in a few weeks. Also, mixing Nyquil with the tylenol is a big no, no. Nyquil has alcohol and, when mixed with tylenol, can do (tah dah) exactly what happened to you! I'm sure one time won't damage your liver, but now you know! Take care.
Avatar f tn Not nyquil. But if you have cold like a symptoms Tylenol makes cold and flu drowsy med and thats okay and it knocked me out.
Avatar f tn I would certainly make a call to your pediatrician and tell them what happened , they may say keep and eye on the child or bring him in..good luck ...
Avatar f tn You heat up 2 tbsp of coconut oil, and swish/gargle it for about 4 minutes and spit it out. It pulls all the bacteria and toxins out of your mouth, throat and nose. I felt A LOT better the next morning after doing it, after being skeptical about holistic remedies for a long time.
Avatar f tn I did take some nyquil last night and woke up feeling a tad bit better.
Avatar f tn I don't think nyquil okay but I'm not sure.
Avatar n tn I took sudafed once and almost passed out. My doctor said that Nyquil can actually help PVCs so I take it frequently.
Avatar f tn I was given a sleeping tablet prior to surgery and didn't fall asleep. I also remember taking a LOT of pain killers for the immense pain caused by a tooth abscess and it took 4 hours to take affect. I didn't really think anything of it until I read your comment. Hmmm. I find magnesium is good to help me sleep. Just to add I no longer get cold/flu/bronchitis/strep throat...etc etc since taking vitamin D. It's not called the antibiotic vitamin for nothing!
1407445 tn?1281318016 Although the worst was over the 1st week, some symptoms lingered on the 2nd, like fatigue and irritability, especially from the morphine. I hope the suggestions really help ease your symptoms and knowing what to expect is a bit comforting (not knowing the 1st time for me was horrible). Hang in there, you are almost there and Good Luck!
10275373 tn?1409333029 Im 21 weeks and I just caught a cold my head hurts my nose is stuffed and every time I cough I feel the baby kick I feel like she's trying to signal me to stop bothering her lol ughh I miss nyquil lol
1211960 tn?1272974502 Everyone reacts differently to medicines, and there maybe be a low percent side effect for what you are experiancing. Also, Nyquil does have some alcohol in it so make sure it is not interacting with another medication you are taking. I have been on medications before that require you do not take in any alcohol whatsoever, including cough syrup and mouth wash.
1162258 tn?1306916207 hello ladies. trying to find out if any of you guys have ever taken nyquil for your cold while pregnant. I feel like crap and i know nyquil would wipe it out but i'm too scared to take it.
8585833 tn?1399748005 Nyquil has alcohol in it so i know that was one of the reasons she told me not to take it....and both nyquil and dayquil i believe may have aspirin or something along those lines in them which isnt recommended during pregnancy.
Avatar n tn no! NYQUIL is not physically addictive and you won't suffer from withdrawals. And its not dangerous to take two Nyquil every night....after a long period of time you could get Liver damage but almost all sleeping medacine have that warning. It's more dangerous to drink 1 beer every night than it is if you take two Nyquil every night lol....there is less alcohol in two nyquil caps than there is in 1 beer....so your not at all in danger...
Avatar f tn I stick to the natural remedies for colds and flu to avoid the high alcohol content and sedative properties of cold and flu remedies in the drug store, and some decongestants have stimulants in them that can cause anxiety.
Avatar n tn Why would you even think of giving a dog Nyquil? Nyquil has a very high alcohol content and is definitely NOT good for dogs. Do NOT give it to him. What are his symptoms that you think he needs it?
Avatar f tn I'm 16 weeks pregnant and have one heck of a cold. I was up all night last night and I'm exhausted. Tylenol has not helped a bit and I want to try something else to give me some relief. I bought Nyquil tablets, are they safe to take? Unfortunately it's Friday night and can't exactly call my doctor. Any advice? Thanks in advance!
