Mirapex and restless leg syndrome

Common Questions and Answers about Mirapex and restless leg syndrome

mirapex

Avatar f tn Thank you for your feedback. We would also love it if doctors would give out MedHelp's URL to their patients to help track symptoms. Then their patients could just click Email This on their trackers and send it to their doctors for review. We could easily add Restless Legs as a symptom and Mirapex as a treatment to the Sleep Tracker. Would that work for you?
Avatar f tn I loose a lot of sleep. I get in day and night. My arms even jerk and have that restless feeling. Mirapex is taken twice a day and don't help. No drs will address it and I'm miserable . Is this a lack of a vitamin or mineral. Do I ever get rid of them?
10905573 tn?1436924423 I just found I'm pregnant. I am 5 weeks. I have restless leg syndrome and the doctor wants me to stop taking my mirapex. I tried but ended up taking a half a pill (doctor said this is ok to try to wean myself off). Is there anything I can take for it so I can sleep?!?!
Avatar n tn and my RLS but not often, if I take the two meds, Mirapex and Ambien too close together I get terrible spasms, it feels like Restless body and not just my legs, so I take the Mirapex around 9PM. and the Ambien when needed around 10PM.
Avatar m tn I am unable to walk for long periods of time, the pain is not lessening even though i am currently taking myropex on a daily basis. I have had testing for restless leg syndrome, arthritis, had an mri, etc and am tired of not being able to get any relief from this because no one knows whats wrong. This has been ongoing for over 10 years and is progressively getting worse to the point I had to quit my job because I was not able to function normally. Any help would be appreciated.
689327 tn?1240229164 Does anyone have restless leg syndrome and if so what do doctors recommend to take so you can sleep? No matter what position I am in it hurts which it makes it hard for me to sleep I am so tired so any ideas would be appreciated.
1390101 tn?1281000559 Wow Kraz - I am sorry that you have had to deal with the problem from Mirapex. I too have RLS and have been on Mirapex for about 2 years, but fortunately have not had a problem with gambling. I am an addict, but have been doing good with that too. Interesting though, your post made me think, there are other things that if I really look at it, I probably do in excess - and have been doing more since on Mirapex. Wonder if there is a connection there.
1591337 tn?1297101349 Well, this sounds alot like restless leg syndrome, and they have other meds for this like Requip, ask your MD about this and if your symptoms sound like you have this and you can start to sleep better! Good Luck!
1154672 tn?1262222616 I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.
Cat I developed what I think is restless leg syndrome 3 months after knee replacement surgery. In talking to a friend today, I found that she has had the same issues and she is taking the same antidepressant, citalopram. Has anyone ever heard of this drug causing these symptoms? I have been on citalopram for several years, and have not had many side effects until now. The symptoms are bad enough to interrupt my sleep.
329994 tn?1301663248 Does anyone on here have Restless Leg Syndrome and are they being treated for it? and could you please list your symptoms, what it feels like. I don't believe that I have it, but my doctor put me on Klonopin to see if that helps. What I have our leg aches, ankle aches, basically all day long but they are worse after exercise and at night. They ache so much, they drive me crazy. But I don't get that creepy crawly feeling everyone talks about.
Avatar f tn I have Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) which includes the uncontrollable need to move my legs, and surprisingly, other parts of my body also. I take Mirapex which helps greatly. My PCP and Neuro both feel this is the way for me to go because it was so severe. I also suffer from severe insomnia because of it. I'm not suggesting that you need to be medicated, but I do recommend that you talk to you physician about it, because it can be very dibilitating.
136956 tn?1688675680 It would be very difficult to comment on the situation without a definitive diagnosis or even an examination. Other than restless leg syndrome other possibilities that may need to be considered are vascular issues, peripheral neuropathy, musculopathies, hormonal/ endocrine issues, micronutrient deficiencies, infections, stress/ depression etc. Without an evaluation it would be difficult to say what effect would a particular drug have on it.
539156 tn?1281818356 Does anyone know if there is a connection between (restless leg syndrome) and MS? I have had RLS for years and in the last few months it has gotten much worse. I take Mirapex, which has worked really well, but now I guess I need more of it because it really flares up every evening (all over my body) before it is time to take my meds. I feel like I am falling apart! Numb hands and feet...apnea....RLS...blurry left eye....FATIGUE.....Sorry, I think I am having a pity party.
Avatar n tn It is called restless leg syndrome which can affect your arms and legs. It usually happens to me at night or when I have been sitting for a long time. I take Mirapex for it right now.
Avatar f tn pramipexole is a non ergoline dopamine agonist given for treatment of restless leg syndrome. Certain of its side effects also like hyperalgesia or feeling exaggerated aches and pains and hallucinations of feeling things that are not there could be contributing to your hyper sensitivity to touch.
405614 tn?1329144114 OK, Is it possible that the Restless Leg Syndrome I was diagnosed with from a sleep study several years ago might have been an early symptom of my maybe possible MS? It recently occured to me that I list RLS as a neurological symptom on medical forms, and that as far as I know there is no real know cause for RLS. Low iron has aggravated it, but it wasn't low when I was tested for RLS.
910476 tn?1245881549 OMG do I know about restless leg syndrome, Ive suffered for years and years, and no one understands it unless you have had it. People think its just the jitters, but you have to move your legs constanly and stretch and its the most annoying thing ever. Well I finnally had enough my doctor ( after years and years of explaining this) sent me to a nerve and mustle doctor. My nerves are fine. But I say so? whats with the RLS? Im now on Mirapex and TRUST ME IT WORKS!!!!!!
Avatar f tn I have muscle leg, foot, arm and hand twitches. I was diagnosed, (among other things) with Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS). It does not necessarily only affect your legs. There is also something called Periodic Limb Movement, but as I understand it, this only happens when you're asleep. RLS, on the other-hand, can be all day and all night. It usually is at its worse when you try to sit still at night.
Avatar f tn THEY ALSO SAY I HAVE RESTLESS LEG SYNDROM, AND I TAKE MIRAPEX FOR THIS, DOES RESTLESS LEG SYNDROME CAUSE YOUR LEGS TO HURT ALL DAY? I REALLY NEED TO KNOW, I AM TIRED OF HURTING!
410281 tn?1254229064 I have a friend who has restless leg syndrome and she is on some kind of Parkinsons Disease drug and it has helped her a lot, but she was running all night, she was pretty bad. I had never heard of Restless leg syndrome until I met her. Hope someone else can be of more help to you, Udkas.
Avatar f tn I decided to research this online and came across Restless Leg syndrome. As a symptom of RLS it listed aching legs, which by itself would not have been very convincing, but then I noticed other symptoms that I have too. One was the need to constantly move the legs. Both my mother, sister and I all bounce or move our legs constantly, and I, cannot stand to have my legs dangle over chairs, I always, always sit with my legs crossed under me, as this is the only comfortable position for them.
Avatar f tn Hi, welcome to the forum, restless leg syndrome (RLS) can be really frustating sometimes and can be treated by treating underlying illness, if known. For example, iron deficiency anemia can be a cause and can be treated by supplemental iron. Some other measures like elimination of caffeine, smoking and alcohol (if present) can be very helpful. Getting better sleep and exercise can help some persons affected by restless legs.
Avatar n tn I also experience muscle stiffness and cramping in my right calf and, as of today, also in my left leg and calf. I have been told by my primary care doctor and my neurologist that I have benign fasciculations and not ALS based on bloodwork, physical exams and symptoms. However, I am still concerned because the cramps seem to be getting worse. I even have cramps/fatigue in my upper right arm now, especially in the morning. I am concerned about fibromyalgia now.
