mirapex restless leg syndrome side effects

I have recently been diagnosed with PLMD (periodic limb movement disorder). My understanding is most have during the night while sleeping. (it is not Restless leg Syndrome) Well, mine happens all day long. According to my Nuerologist studies have shown that it can happen during the day as well but they group into one PLMD.

Thank you for your feedback. We would also love it if doctors would give out MedHelp's URL to their patients to help track symptoms. Then their patients could just click Email This on their trackers and send it to their doctors for review. We could easily add Restless Legs as a symptom and Mirapex as a treatment to the Sleep Tracker. Would that work for you?

I developed what I think is restless leg syndrome 3 months after knee replacement surgery. In talking to a friend today, I found that she has had the same issues and she is taking the same antidepressant, citalopram. Has anyone ever heard of this drug causing these symptoms? I have been on citalopram for several years, and have not had many side effects until now. The symptoms are bad enough to interrupt my sleep.

I just found I'm pregnant. I am 5 weeks. I have restless leg syndrome and the doctor wants me to stop taking my mirapex. I tried but ended up taking a half a pill (doctor said this is ok to try to wean myself off). Is there anything I can take for it so I can sleep?!?!

Hi Byron, I too have serious Restless Leg Syndrome...I don't know about the Monavie but what I take and is wonderful is Mirapex. I take it 3 times a day and have no restless legs unless I skip a dose or run out and then the RLS returns. I hope this has helped.

Does anyone have restless leg syndrome and if so what do doctors recommend to take so you can sleep? No matter what position I am in it hurts which it makes it hard for me to sleep I am so tired so any ideas would be appreciated.

pramipexole is a non ergoline dopamine agonist given for treatment of restless leg syndrome. Certain of its side effects also like hyperalgesia or feeling exaggerated aches and pains and hallucinations of feeling things that are not there could be contributing to your hyper sensitivity to touch.

I am unable to walk for long periods of time, the pain is not lessening even though i am currently taking myropex on a daily basis. I have had testing for restless leg syndrome, arthritis, had an mri, etc and am tired of not being able to get any relief from this because no one knows whats wrong. This has been ongoing for over 10 years and is progressively getting worse to the point I had to quit my job because I was not able to function normally. Any help would be appreciated.

I know nothing about Parkinson Disease at all but I do know that they use Parkinson's drugs for restless leg syndrome, so I think it is commonly prescribed for things like that. I have a friend who has restless leg syndrome and she is on some kind of Parkinsons Disease drug and it has helped her a lot, but she was running all night, she was pretty bad. I had never heard of Restless leg syndrome until I met her. Hope someone else can be of more help to you, Udkas.

Does anyone on here have Restless Leg Syndrome and are they being treated for it? and could you please list your symptoms, what it feels like. I don't believe that I have it, but my doctor put me on Klonopin to see if that helps. What I have our leg aches, ankle aches, basically all day long but they are worse after exercise and at night. They ache so much, they drive me crazy. But I don't get that creepy crawly feeling everyone talks about.

I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.

Hi thank Gd I found this site, thanks to all the stories I have managed to go from 20 N+ a night to 4. I started taking them for restless legs syndrome and loved the buzz. I am a single mother of 2 beautiful boys and become so depressed dont feel like getting out of bed and just want to sleep my life away. My question is once I have stopped taking these horrible pills, what do I do about my restless legs as it makes me feel like ripping my limbs off.

He determined this to be rare side effects from Requip. Took me off straightaway. I hated that because it worked so well, but side effects were intolerable. This as of April 28th. Was started on Sinemet. Was told this does not work as well as Requip, but was less likely to have same side effects. Said he could add darvocet if necesary.Also take ativan 1mg 3 x daily since the brain surgery, and 1-2 at night for help with sleep. Every other sleep aid made above symptoms worse.

I think a lot of us recently have been baffled by new side effects....not knowing they were side effects. I know there are a lot of people out there doing research day in and day out about Hep C. I am just glad everyone is posting this type of information.

OK, Is it possible that the Restless Leg Syndrome I was diagnosed with from a sleep study several years ago might have been an early symptom of my maybe possible MS? It recently occured to me that I list RLS as a neurological symptom on medical forms, and that as far as I know there is no real know cause for RLS. Low iron has aggravated it, but it wasn't low when I was tested for RLS.

It would be very difficult to comment on the situation without a definitive diagnosis or even an examination. Other than restless leg syndrome other possibilities that may need to be considered are vascular issues, peripheral neuropathy, musculopathies, hormonal/ endocrine issues, micronutrient deficiencies, infections, stress/ depression etc. Without an evaluation it would be difficult to say what effect would a particular drug have on it.

It is called restless leg syndrome which can affect your arms and legs. It usually happens to me at night or when I have been sitting for a long time. I take Mirapex for it right now.

My question is has anyone else suffered restless leg syndrome after taking welbutrin?? Welbutrin was the only med that didn't cause severe headaches and make me want to sleep all the time.
