Avatar n tn my husband was in hospital with a possible "mini stroke" He is scheduled to have a MRA in two days. He is still a little "off" in his balance. One dr. thought it was Vertigo.. But he didnt have all the signs. How can we tell if he might be having another stroke?

Avatar n tn t had a response on my first question concerning symptoms of a possible mini stroke or withdrawal symptoms from precocet or elavil. Should I take my husband to doctor - his office does not open until 9:00 am my time.
Avatar f tn I believe that the greatest risk is your likelihood of a full blown stroke, which of course can be life threatening. A TIA (mini stroke) is usually considered a warning sign by Doctors that something needs to be addressed. I assume they have given you medication to help lower the risk of a clot forming? such as aspirin?
Avatar f tn in the sense of symptoms of a stroke and stroke warning as signs of a pathology that could lead eventually to a stroke. the only way that could indicate higher risk of stroke is that it was caused by a vascular problem, but you should have a bit more going on I guess. it also depends on your age. maybe it was caused by sudden sun exposure. why are you worried about having a stroke, do you have other symptoms? is there someone in your family who's had a stroke?
Avatar f tn t think a thing about it until I told my husband last night and he said it might have been a mini stroke. My mother (deceased) had experienced these in the past and she had severe heart problems that the doctors said may have caused the strokes. I looked up the symptoms, but I only really had numbness in my face and a slight pain over my eye. Could this have been a mini stroke? Should I see a doctor now even though I have no symptoms? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Is it possible that without me realizing it that I may have had a mini stroke and not know it or am I over reacting? Since then my blood pressure has been 150/90.
Avatar f tn While prognosis may not be excellent with haemorrhagic stroke, your doctor is correct. Deterioration after initial progression could indicate another stroke/ mini stroke, issues with microcirculation or other neurological conditions. I would suggest considering a review with his treating neurologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn I know something was happening but just not sure what. Some people said it could be a mini stroke. Has anyone dealt with this before?
Avatar f tn spinal tap, myelogram, ct scan, mini stroke TIA
Avatar n tn My doctor thinks it could be brain stem mini strokes. He also said it is possible these are signs of a future stroke (brain stem). Is this even possible? I am hypothyroid on synthroid and take aspirin. I have normal blood pressure and borderline cholestorol. Also, where should I go to get a quality second opinion on this?
Avatar n tn I am afraid that my husband had a stroke on 4/19/08 and all these episodes are mini strokes and leading up to a major stroke. Please help with any ideas. My husband has said he doesn't know how much longer he can go on like this. He is on short term disability right now but he has less then four months to get back to work or he loses his job and all health benefits. We are both under alot of stress due to I don't work and now I am afraid to leave him alone due to confusion, headaches.
Avatar f tn Often oxygen-rich blood cannot be supplied adequately to the brain, causing the symptoms of a mini stroke. In severe cases, increased pressure can cause the arteries in the brain to rupture and cause a hemorrhagic (bleed) stroke. All the best to your mom http://www.savingthebrain.
Avatar n tn If your arm feels weak or numb, this could certainly be a sign of stroke or mini-stroke and you should seek emergency medical attention. Certain tachycardias do predispose to stroke. I hope this has been useful. I wish you the best of luck. Feel free to write back. Information provided here is for general purposes only. Specific questions should be addressed to your own doctor.
Avatar n tn I cannot give you a clinical diagnosis over the internet, and the information you provide is limited. On its own dizziness with bilateral hand tingling is not very suggestive of a stroke and may be more realted to blood pressure, heart causes etc.
2034625 tn?1392643292 Diplopia that I had hoped was just a mini-flare kind of thing is still here 10 days or so later and getting worse, not better. Add to that the fact that two fingers on my right had and my right toe not moving on command yesterday for the first time and I'm suspecting a new flare is trying to sneak its way into my life. Yesterday I had an appointment with my neuro that I have to drive an hour and a half to see.
Avatar f tn I am a 51 wfm, and six month ago I was diagnosed a mini stroke. I had an MRI in which a 1,5 mm aneurism was found and no signs of lesions of any kind. On a follow up MRI a week ago, it is said: "there is a punctiform, bi-cerebral hyperintensity in Flair T2, basically in semi-oval center, further toward the peri-atrial region and peri-ventricular diffused bilateral. The rest white and gray substance of good differentiation" The conclusion states: " 1.
