Avatar n tn My 86 year old mother just came out of the hospital on Friday after being in for ten days due to a "mini-stroke" (TIA). It was the fifth one she has had since suffering a major stroke in 2007. Tonight she started bleeding; not heavy but enough to saturate her Depends underwear. I have noticed some very light spotting in the past, but only about once a month. The cause of this is puzzling me. I guess the doctor needs to be seen. Any advice?

2034625 tn?1392643292 So, another hour and a half home in blinding sun and 80 something degree weather and still no answers about whether this may or may not be the beginning of a flare. I have a new appointment for next Wednesday. We'll see how it goes until then.
Avatar m tn It is so frustrating when it does not show up on your MRI and one place tells you possible mini stroke and you go the next time and they transfer you to a different hospital and they do test afterwards and then say it's not a mini stroke because there is no evidence on the test so it must be symptomatic or stress. I am not stressed and i had one of the best days of the month when this happened.

Avatar n tn My doctor thinks it could be brain stem mini strokes. He also said it is possible these are signs of a future stroke (brain stem). Is this even possible? Avatar m tn The person that you are talking about may have had a sudden loss of neurological function due to problem in the blood flow to the brain. it could have been a mini stroke with a normal CT or MRI scan. There are certain causes of mini stroke, which I hope have been excluded. These are seizures, migraines, mini stroke affecting memory areas etc. Is he a hypertensive and how is his blood glucose control?
