at first i didnt bother it but after my medication in soar throat and allergy(urcatitaria), my vagina started to became itchy and again, everyday i started having green discharged for `1 week. i went to a gynecologist and she prescribed me a metronidazole miconazole vaginal suppository and ive used that for `1 week.. now what my problem is, my white discharge had stop.. i am also currently taking up medice for my UTI and had experiexed sex but that was like long time ago...
She prescribed a vaginal gel, Metronidazole, for the BV. After one use of the BV I constantly felt like I had to pee no matter if I went to the bathroom or not. I stopped using the Metronidazole. The next day, Friday, I still had somewhat frequent urination, but not like the side effects of the Metronidazole. I couldn't get a hold of my family practitioner, so I tried a daily boric acid suppository for the BV starting Friday night. The following day, Saturday, I had symptoms of a UTI.
I was given flagyl and levofloxcin for uti but I forgot to take flagyl. Though my pain has lessened and I went to doc she gave me Metronidazole Vaginal Gel for 5 days.
Anyone ever been prescribed metronidazole for a bacterial infection of the vjay?im 14-15 weeks pregnant and was just wondering..I've taken my azitheomycin for the second time and hope it clears up whatever seems to be going on but the first time I took my single dose they told me it killed the good and the bad bacteria but that I got a bacterial infection so the prescribed me metronidazole,called back and gave me another single dose of azitheomycin..
I am 34 weeks pregnant and am very concerned about all these antibiotics (about 4) i took during my pregnancy, 3 were zithromycin z pack and one was metronidazole for bacterial vaginosis in my third trimester. For all these antibiotics, i received strong reassurance that they are safe to take to treat my common occuring respiratory infections. I am concerned. Is there anyone here who took many antbx during pregnancy and had a healthy child? AMEN...
The doctor prescribed me a mega dose of the metronidazole and said I should feel better in 24 hours. I did NOT feel better in 24 hrs I waited a week because everything online kept telling me the symptoms could take a week to subside but when they didn’t I called my doctor and she prescribed me another mega dose. This one did absolutely nothing but make my symptoms worse my cervix hurt so bad.
Thanks God. They gave me Metronidazole again and another tablet for uti. Now my discharge is like snot. I recently went to a new doctor and had gramstain. She said my results were okay. But she noticed a wart inside my vagina. It's small though. Why do I still have this discharge? :( The discharge is not smelly but it resembles mucus. I'm still waiting for the result of my pap test. Please share your thoughts about my problem.
Diagnosed with uti 9/17 treated with nitrofurantoin. After one week symptoms persisted so was given ciprofloxacin. After one week symptoms persisted again so another culture was done and diagnosed with staph infection. Treated with amoxicillin but after one week symptoms still persist. Another culture done and came back contaminated was treated with metronidazole. Now done with prescription and systems still persist. Going to call doctor to see if another analysis/culture.
The reason that the other poster could have been cured by cipro is that she may have had a Mycoplasma and it may have been sensitive to ciprofloxacin. But the standard treatment for bv is either metronidazole or Clindamycin. So you can try the cipro and see if it clears up but if it doesn't then if can take clindamycin I would then take probiotics after. Cipro can treat a lot of UTI's but not all. It depends on the bacteria that is causing the infection and how resistant it is.
Doctor immediately put me on Metronidazole and single dose of Azithromycin. Before I started the treatments, there was white discharge and fishy odor but no urge to constantly pee even after I had just emptied my bladder. After treatments, the discharge and odor has gone away but I now have a constant urge to pee and when I go to pee it’s very little and there is very slight burning. Is it possible that the azithromycin didn’t work or is this possibly a UTI?
What are you ladies symptoms? ???? I doubt I have it or any infection but I noticed ONLY today that when I sit its very umcomfortable. And my vag has gotten pretty moist. Theres no odor or burning while I pee.... I absolutely hate calling the nurse trioge line because they dont know for sure what u have unless they check u. Last time I called them they said I had a yeast infection and I got checked n I didn't. Another time they said I had a uti and perscribed me meds.
I went to the obgyn last week they ran urine samples and std tests and everything was okay, I told them I’m spotting still for two weeks now three and cramping the test came back for BV so they prescribed me Metronidazole I felt way too anxious about taking it , Friday I went in for a ultrasound and pelvic ultrasound I believe and got the results today that it was fine. They now prescribed me clindamycin gel which I will pick up tomorrow due to pharmacy out of stock.
Hello- I have a question regarding an antibiotic I was prescribed when I was 6 weeks pregnant. I had a severe UTI and went to the ER and was given Bactrim. I'm worried about the adverse affects because after reading several articles online, they had all mentioned the drugs risks.
So I have been having this recurring vaginal infection that I don’t know what it is. It is not BV, yeast or UTI. After my period I have yellow tacky discharge with a foul odor and then the discharge varies in color from cloudy white to yellow throughout the month My main concern is the odor. Every time I sit next to a person their sniffs and holding their noses, my roommate does it a lot.
she gave me prescription to take metronidazole for a week treatment.. after that, no more bad smell coming out from my secretions but i am afraid because sometimes my vagina is itchy.. does it mean i still have std bacteria?
Itchy urethra can be a sign of a UTI or a trichomonas infection, again transmitted sexually, and needs treatment with metronidazole (Flagyl).
Infection and type of treatment will depend on organism identified.
Ensure that you keep your fluid intake over 2000 ml per day and avoid irritants such as caffeine and alcohol. Adding citrus fruits and juices to diet can also wash out any existing infection as it acidifies the urine and helps in flushing the bacteria out of the urinary tract.
So I am baffled by this. About 3 weeks ago I started to feel like my stomach was coming apart. I immediately went to the ER where they tested me for every known thing. They said I had a UTI and possibly a Kidney infection and prescribed Macrobid. That didn't work and in 2 days I went back, they changed the medication to Levoquin (spelling may be off). That worked!
I have been tested for Garderella, UTI, trichomonas, yeast etc. All negative. That is the issue, cant find the cause but continue to have symptoms..(stomach pain, discharge, pain with sex, vaginal burning etc) Augmentin was the only antibiotic that seemed to work while i was on it but it immediately came back when off it. Being treated with metronidazole should have cleared a BV or Trichomonas infection but it didnt work..
Had to go to Doctor`s Care today, due to a miserable UTI. I am a myoclonic seizure patient and due to this UTI issue Am on no sleep. Not good for seizure condition. The Dr. was aware I had the seizure problem and prescribed cipro, which I had to call and tell them to send me something different. The one at the pharmacy now is Augmentin. Just need a neurologist`s expert opinion as to whether or not it is alright to take Augmentin with my myoclonic seizure condition.
But ive been having flank pain is it possible i have all three UTI,BV,and small yeast infection? If so would the metronidazole for my BV cure the UTI?
hi , itis possible for urine infection to spread to vagina and even prostate in men it results as a complication from a uti and usually comes from bacteria in the gut most likely e coli - you on antibiotics ? is the vaginal infection thrush ? coz if so thats fungus not bacteria and antibiotics wont help that 1 dose of fluconazole will tho .
As i waited for the results, the ER dr came in and said that my tests look normal, ct scan was normal and they gave me 4 pink pills to take and a prescription of metronidazole 500mg (21 tabs every 8 hours for 7 days) and told me to make an obgyn appointment. They said they would call in a few days if the pelvic exam test came back not normal. I asked them what they were treating me for and they said for STDS. But that shocked me bc i wasnt even thinking of that.
