The doctor said it could be a bacterial infection and gave me metronidazole cream. He also used a swab to test me for STDs. I have to wait 2 days for the results and I am very worried it is Herpes. I have not had a fever or any pain. No discharge of any color.
Recently diagnosed with herpes 2, MD gave me acyclovir. Allergic reaction occurred, now MD has me on metronidazole. It's been 5 days and no relief from outbreak. Is there an alternative I can take?

I am not sure if I am experiencing symptoms consistent with herpes as I have never had an oral (or genital) outbreak before (even as a child, according to parent). Twelve days ago, I kissed a (new) gentleman, who did not appear to have any overt oral lesions (I am unaware of his status). A couple days later, a friend of mine took a sip of my drink (I should have gotten a new drink, but didn't want to offend her, so did my best not to drink from the exact same spot).
6 months ago i was diagnosed with herpes by visual test and some other "G" word .. i was given doxycycline and metronidazole along with candid v6 ... After over the past 6 months ive been having tiny outbreaks... but nun serious ..until recently when i was put on kerflex to treat my abcess .. i now have the worse herpes out break i have ever had .. i decided to purchase the same medication ..
I'm a male. I was recently diagnosed with herpes 1 (oral). I have no outward signs (a very rare cold sore...). But I do have slight bleeding of the gums (periodontal disease) on occasion, unrelated to my herpes. My gf wants me to go down on her. She is STD free. Never been tested, though.
My questions: can I give her genital herpes 1or 2? Can I give (or catch) anything "strange" bc of my bleeding gum.
Fwiw, we're both in our 60's.
If you have herpes, it should be obvious on examination; they can take tests for it and start you on anti-herpes treatment if that's what it is. They can also judge whether your PID is getting better or if you need more intensive treatment.
I'm also a bit worried that the ER doctors may not be entirely up to speed on PID, gonorrhea, or herpes. You should insist that they call in an infectious diseases specialist and/or a gynecologist to further advice on diagnosis and treatment.
As a precautionary measure I was treated with 2 grams of metronidazole for trich. What is the likelhood that this is herpes? I have no visible outbreaks and the urination problems has stayed almost exactly the same for 10 months (no better no worse). I have read that herpes can be in the urethra. I am on the verge of depression as I have a significant other that I do not want to infect. Please help and thank you in advance.
I would like to know if I can get BV because of a herpes outbreak? Im sure the smell isn't herpes, but BV as ive had it before, herpes doesn't have an odor. Is it safe to take metronidazole and aciclovir at the same time?
hello, I have recently had a urine test and tested positive for ngu, been prescribed metronidazole, ciprofloxacin & prescribed myself with doxycycline tablets after research on the web. 1 day after i start medication I notice a rash in the head of my penis, it doesn't itch or irritate me, If I hadn't of seen it I wouldn't of knew it was there? can this be a side effect of by medication, or any other sti?
s a yeast infection, but no STD. She prescribed canestan, metronidazole, and two other meds( she wrote them pretty weird) I think one is binozyt and the other is sporanox. I haven't purchased them yet as I haven't got the money(broke college student).

Is it possible that the tiny single red bump after my masturbation (no fever, aches, blisters) that only lasted 1-2 days was a primary herpes outbreak? I tested negative for herpes blood test like 5 or 6 months ago and have noticed no typical "primary outbreak". t sound at all like herpes. Dysuria with herpes typically is very severe and would last for several days; herpes urethritis isn't a subtle condition. Further, herpes urethritis usually occurs along with overt penile lesions. Furhter, the negative blood tests almost 3 months after onset (11 weeks) are strong evidence against a new HSV infection.
You cannot catch genital HSV from a "public area". Sex with an infected person is the only route of infection.
So my wife was prescribed 4 months ago metronidazole when she got her annual. I am not circumcised. My wife took 4 out of 7 days of the meds. Sex is painful for her now and after aggressive sex or masturbation I get what appears like red spots only under my foreskin. Sometimes under my foreskin the red spots/dots are many or few, darker or lighter depending on the irritation from sex.

At the beginning I though it was a yeast infection and took the monistat-1day and didnt get better, so today when the doctor saw me she said I have HERPES...I can't seem to understand how in the world I have herpes...I'm 20 years old, married and has never had sex with any other person but my Husband..
