It's not something that commonly happens and certainly not for this long period of time.
I have had a rash on my chin (going from near the corner of my mouth towards my jaw line) for nearly 3 months. I am pregnant (33wks) and it started out as what I though were a few little zits, I typically have extremely clear skin but just chalked it up to the pregnancy. I treated it with all the over the counter acne treatments, but after a week or two decided it must be a rash.
The doctor said it could be a bacterial infection and gave me metronidazole cream. He also used a swab to test me for STDs. I have to wait 2 days for the results and I am very worried it is Herpes. I have not had a fever or any pain. No discharge of any color.
a week after my hernia surgery there was no catheter used but i tested negative for all stds but did not test for herpes but have no bumps or anything. however i have this stinging pain when i urinate during and after, I also notice white spots when I open the tip of my penis and clear discharge. and my urine stream for the 1st second doesnt come out right. i took azithromycine, metronidazole, and phenazopyridine. my urologist didn't want me to finish doxycycline or cephalexin.
I have had tests for Chlamydia, and Gonorrhea -which came back negative. I have no signs of herpes and was tested for that as well. My only symptom I've had is a mild discomfort at the tip of my penis. Buring during urination is very slight, not much to speak of. I recently masturbated just to see if there would be any pain - there wasn't. However, when I ejaculated, it first came out as very watery, followed by thicker semen that was yellowish in color.
Recently diagnosed with herpes 2, MD gave me acyclovir. Allergic reaction occurred, now MD has me on metronidazole. It's been 5 days and no relief from outbreak. Is there an alternative I can take?
I am not sure if I am experiencing symptoms consistent with herpes as I have never had an oral (or genital) outbreak before (even as a child, according to parent). Twelve days ago, I kissed a (new) gentleman, who did not appear to have any overt oral lesions (I am unaware of his status). A couple days later, a friend of mine took a sip of my drink (I should have gotten a new drink, but didn't want to offend her, so did my best not to drink from the exact same spot).
A deep dental cleanse on a good periodontal dentist or a simple course of an antibiotic called METRONIDAZOLE for 5 days will improve you gum bleading and smell for a long time. Metronidazole gel is also available for topical use on the gums. It wont take you more than a week to do these two things, time that i think your girlfriend will be nice enough to wait before she gets you between her legs.
If you have herpes, it should be obvious on examination; they can take tests for it and start you on anti-herpes treatment if that's what it is. They can also judge whether your PID is getting better or if you need more intensive treatment.
I'm also a bit worried that the ER doctors may not be entirely up to speed on PID, gonorrhea, or herpes. You should insist that they call in an infectious diseases specialist and/or a gynecologist to further advice on diagnosis and treatment.
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

He prescribed me Cipro and said it was too early from my encounter for a blood test for herpes. He would not prescribe anything for my girlfriend.
That same day I went to the Health Department, and got the full screening. I was given an injection (unknown), 1g of Zithromax pills, and 2g of Metronidazole pills. The results have not come back yet. When I got home I obtained the results of my previous test from the lab and they were negative for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.
I would like to know if I can get BV because of a herpes outbreak? Im sure the smell isn't herpes, but BV as ive had it before, herpes doesn't have an odor. Is it safe to take metronidazole and aciclovir at the same time?
hello, I have recently had a urine test and tested positive for ngu, been prescribed metronidazole, ciprofloxacin & prescribed myself with doxycycline tablets after research on the web. 1 day after i start medication I notice a rash in the head of my penis, it doesn't itch or irritate me, If I hadn't of seen it I wouldn't of knew it was there? can this be a side effect of by medication, or any other sti?
Well its a very good guide, over 70% of infected people will test positive by that time. To be sure you need to repeat at 12 weeks.
However your doc doesn't think there's herpes to be concerned about so chances seem very low.
Did anything happen in the 2-10 days post the sexual encounter? If not then this adds to the suggestion of no infection from that encounter.
Is it possible that the tiny single red bump after my masturbation (no fever, aches, blisters) that only lasted 1-2 days was a primary herpes outbreak? I tested negative for herpes blood test like 5 or 6 months ago and have noticed no typical "primary outbreak". Its been 2 months and I haven't had a "recurrence" of this minor bump so I suppose I am looking for reassurance. still let me know if I should be worried in your medical opinion.
t sound at all like herpes. Dysuria with herpes typically is very severe and would last for several days; herpes urethritis isn't a subtle condition. Further, herpes urethritis usually occurs along with overt penile lesions. Furhter, the negative blood tests almost 3 months after onset (11 weeks) are strong evidence against a new HSV infection.
You cannot catch genital HSV from a "public area". Sex with an infected person is the only route of infection.
s including herpes, hiv, chylamdia, syphlis, I was advised to have acyclovir and subsequently the ulcers went away(they were fading anyway by this time), so not sure if it was the acyclovir,
Also after this visit I was over zealous with hygiene and washed my penis with soap, and I noticed it becoming red and itchy subsequently,
A week after this I visited the Gum clinic again and all my previous tests came back negative, by this time my penis tip was turning red and slightly painful on touch
Went to the ER and was tested for Chlamydiae, Gonorrhea, UTI.
PA looked at my sore and said it is not herpes.
UTI was negative.
They gave me a Ceftriaxone shot and azithromycin 4 pills in a single dose to treat me for both suspected infections.
However, 4 days after I called the ER to find out the results for Chlamydiae and Gonorrhea. Turned out they were both negative (YAYYY).
During the week my rectum was little sore (not painful), along with my balls.
There was a bit of burning during urination, a clear but very liquid like discharge, frequent urination, and some inflammation in the pelvis area. I went to the doctor and my tests for Chylmadia, Gon, Syphillis, HIV were all negative. I was diagnosed with NGU and given a 7 day treatment of Doxycyline. However, I took the first pill that evening and I woke up around 5 AM the next morning because my head was itching terribly. I also had minor itching on my chest and other parts of my body.
Not tested for trich but week course of metronidazole for me and wife wouldve wiped it out. may have to move on but urology means camera down penis, tests, waiting and im convinced i got this from my sex contact on timing.
