Can only rule out trich with a test. It can be difficult to test in men. But are you still having all those symptoms?
Metronidazole would take care of trich which is difficult to diagnose in men, so that is good. Erythromycin is not the preferred medication for chlamydia, but it is an alternative. Neither of them will cure gonorrhea but your symptoms are not likely to be gonorrhea because men almost always get the tell tale dripping discharge.
I took the 1shot dose of metronidazole monday. i had sex unprotected friday and sunday.
A few months ago I had unprotected vaginal\anal sex with a woman. Within a few days I had a lot of discomfort in my urethra and minor, clear discharge with no odour. I'm in the UK so went to the local GUM clinic, I've been tested for everything under the sun and all tests are negative. One swab test did show some pus cells so I was treated with Ofloxacin for 2 weeks which made no difference to my symptoms.
Now that I have started metronidazole should I just stop on the 4th day, and wait for the new doxycycline plus metronidazole regime? That is, will taking another 3 days of it without the doxycycline make me build up a resistance to it or should I stay the course and see if another 3 days helps. I'm concerned about the testing I'm receiving (and confusing results) and it perhaps has alot to do with communicating with non-native English speakers( us not understanding each other).
I visited the doctor Monday with a vaginal infection and was given Metronidazole to start taking. I went back for results Wednesday and I was confirmed to have BV. My doctor then gave me Erythromycin to take (2, twice a day)... as well as the Metronidazole (3, three times a day). This seems like an awful lot of antibiotics. Why was I given Erythromycin, when from as far as I can tell, Metronidazole alone is the recommended treatment for BV?

She used the Metronidale gel for 5 days and her symptoms disappeared. I took Metronidazole 500 mg PO q12h x 7 days. I thought I started to feel better toward the 6th day, but still with some urge to urinate and discomfort. Then, about 3-4 days later, my discomfort was even worse then before. The urge to urinate was constant, discomfort in the urethra, and I felt as if my perineum hurt (swollen Prostate?), & scrotum burning. The clinic prescribed Tinidazole 2g for 5 days as a follow-up.
I am about to finish metronidazole 750mg x 7 days. i am wondering how long it should take for all symptoms to be gone?
My sense is that you have done things correctly- getting tested and then, after your tests were not conclusive, having your girlfriend tested was the right thing to do and led to identification of at least part of the problem- trichomonas which can cause the sorts of symptoms you describe but be difficult to diagnose in men. Further for you both to have been treated with medications for trich (tinidazole and metronidazole) which is also recommended.
you might have a baterial infection, i forget what my doctor told me the crazy medical name for it but she put me on metronidazole vaginal gel, apparently most woman dont know they have it could have no real symptoms except a foul or different odor and some dishcharge, go see your gyno and get a perscription
0 gram of metronidazole (Flagyl) in addition to erythromycin. The reason for the recommendation is that a substantial proportion of men with NGU also have co-existent infection with trichomonas. Trichomonas is difficult to diagnose in men but can certainly be a cause of persistent discharge and symptoms. I suspect this will help. Good luck.
I am taking Metronidazole for BV and Penicillan for strep throat but my partner and I have been trying to have sex and I have no sex drive is that affecting it?

Metronidazole can cause diarrhea as a side effect. But it may be also working on the infective cause of your dog's illness in the first place, so don't stop it without speaking to your vet.
Meanwhile keep your dog hydrated. If you can find an unflavoured electrolyte drink like Pedialyte that would be great. Plain water would do for a short time but Pedialyte would be better.
My heart beat is erratic most of the time anyway but when I tried taking flagyl for campylobacter, it didn't affect my heart at all. I just got extremely sick and intestinal issues worsened. They had to switch me.
how soon after after taking 2000mg of metronidazole for trich can i have unprotected sex without infecting partner??

For the past ten days I have been taking Metronidazole (Two 250mg oral tablets, twice daily).
I took my last pills lastnight around 10:30 pm.
My question is, would it be okay for me to consume alcohol on Saturday night?
I know my pharmacist told me to absolutely stay away from alcohol while I was taking the pills because I would vomit alot, and he said most people wait a couple of days after they've finished before they drink. Im just wondering if two days is enough time?
