I have been prescribed 100mg Doxycyline and Metronidazole 0.75% gel for a vaginal infection. I was told not a STD, but a infection. What kind of infection. The only symptom was white discharge. No burning, swelling, odor that I noticed, etc.
It has now been 13 days on the Doxycycline (of a 30 day cycle total ) and 4 days applying the Metronidazole 0.75% gel only at night, once a day. Thankfully, there has been much improvement since then. So far, no more flareups, hardly any itching only when my skin gets too dry, and during the day when I don't use the Metrogel, my skin is not as red anymore (more pink or normal in color) or bumpy. I just have one more question though.
My OB/GYN did a swab in May that confirmed the BV. I have recently begun Metronidazole Gel 0.75%, qd x 5. I have been reading a lot of forums, and from what it looks like, none of these treatments are very effective. I am starting to really worry that this is going to plague me for the rest of my life. I'll be 20 weeks Monday and my doctor also prescribed me Metronidazole Gel. I'm gonna take the second round tonight. I'd rather take it than not and experience the complications of having bv in the second trimester. I googled it first and it said bv untreated can cause premature rupture of membranes, preterm labor, and uterus infection. Just don't insert it all the way, as I do. My doctor said only about an inch.

I was diagnosed with a bladder infection and a vaginal infection. I assume its bacterial vaginosis because my doctor prescribed Bactrim and Metrogel. But because I have Raynaud's Syndrome, I can't use Metrogel. So my doctor has now prescribed Cipro. But how would either one help with the vaginosis? And as for the bladder infection, couldn't I just take one because they both treat UTIs?

I had bv at about 20 weeks and doctor prescribed Mr metronidazole gel to be inserted vaginally for a week. I didn't put the applicator all the way in. Only halfway like he said. I've had that and about 3 yeast infections and I'm about 26 weeks and baby is just fine and hoping he stays that way. But I'm always sure to catch it early. As soon as of starts feeling the slightest bit funny down there, off to the doctor I go!
If you think that you have developed this scratchy type of rash after using the gel it is recommended to stop the gel. I will advise you to see a dermatologist and get your rash seen. Cottage cheese discharge is due to candida infection but grayish thin discharge is due to bacterial vaginosis. You can use metronidazole gel(metrogel) or clindamycin cream(cleocin) for local
application on vagina.They have fewer side effects.But pls inform your
gynecologist before talking them.

Metrogel but i was scared to take it because they didn't officially diagnose me. I told them I think I have it. I need them to confirm for me. Idk why they didn't confirm before prescribing me the meds.
I was tested positive for HIV this February. I have been an occasional user of MDMA via syringe. I tested negative for Hepatitis B and C. During the first week of June, I suddenly came down with a fever which wouldn't go away.
