If you think that you have developed this scratchy type of rash after using the gel it is recommended to stop the gel. I will advise you to see a dermatologist and get your rash seen. The NP precribed metrogel for 5 days at bedtime. I havent found the courage to take it yet, because its inserted vaginally. The warning states its a category B and can be passed through the placenta. Has anyone else taken metrogel during their pregnancy? If so wad everything ok?
I have a yeast infection might start my period soon and im on Fluconazole and metronidazole (2 pills 72 hours apart and metrogel for 5 days once every bed time) yesterday was my first day on pill and gel and today i notiched like this blood like little clumps nothing like discharge i want to know if its normal ?
she prescribed metrogel and doxycycline I tried the metro gel was taken off.tried doxy and had to go to the e.r. had sever adverse side affects I thought I was going to die.Then the specialist said they where not going to treat me.That I should be fine.WHAT!!!I went to a different gyno obgyn and he isn't treating me for urea pkasma either told me to take pro biotics.
I took the a 3 day monistat suppository & when that finished I took the metro gel for BV medicine. Should I have waited to take the BV medicine since now I getting a
white clumpy discharge? If left there too long it seems to irritate to me. Do I need to retreat the yeast or will it clear once I finish the metrogel??
Hi everyone...Recently I have been having several problems with the skin on my face. Up until about a year ago I had absolutely flawless skin. I'm 22 years old and live in Florida and used to go tanning alot but stopped about a year and a half ago. It started when I went on the birth control-nuva ring for ovarian cysts about 5 months ago and recently changed to yaz and have seen no difference.
The doctor now prescribed Doxycyline for 1 month and Metrogel 1%. There has been improvement, but very slowly with 2 flare ups so far. It has been two weeks since I stopped the steroid completely.
Will it ever go away? Will my skin return to the way it was before the steroid use? (I never had rosacea before)

it's not unusual at all for bv to come back over and over again. continue to be seen every time you have discharge for proper testing. if the oral treatment for bv isn't working for you, ask your provider for the vaginal metrogel instead. it's been shown to alter the vagina's ph and keep bv away longer than the pills do.
do you have a regular partner? do you use condoms?
Can I use metrodizole gel for bv and use monistat creme for yeast infection at the same time.? One during day and 1 at night? Or both at night? I know I have both I just don't know if I can insert both into vagina at same time or once in morning and other at night?
I was diagnosed with a bladder infection and a vaginal infection. I assume its bacterial vaginosis because my doctor prescribed Bactrim and Metrogel. But because I have Raynaud's Syndrome, I can't use Metrogel. So my doctor has now prescribed Cipro. But how would either one help with the vaginosis? And as for the bladder infection, couldn't I just take one because they both treat UTIs?

I had bv at about 20 weeks and doctor prescribed Mr metronidazole gel to be inserted vaginally for a week. I didn't put the applicator all the way in. Only halfway like he said. I've had that and about 3 yeast infections and I'm about 26 weeks and baby is just fine and hoping he stays that way. But I'm always sure to catch it early. As soon as of starts feeling the slightest bit funny down there, off to the doctor I go!
just miscarried baby #6 on 2/17/11 had my first cerclage put in place at 13 weeks, was on 17p shots for 1 week as well as promitrium vaginal gel caps., Metrogel to prevent infections, as well as a ton of natural vitamins that my genetic dr suggested I take, I was also on 3 colace a day! This time I felt I did everything possible. Yet my waterbag ruptured at 18wks :( baby #5 miscarried at 16 wks due to waterbag again, baby # 4 miscarried at 22 wks again waterbag!

Current [Miserable] Status: So I know Rephresh Vaginal Gel is supposed to be inserted into the vagina but recently I was experiencing irritation not only internally but also on my labia and clitoris and so I used some of the residual gel from the tube to soothe the labia and clitoris. At first I felt fine but the gel has now adhered to my labia and clitoris, it seems.
I have been prescribed 100mg Doxycyline and Metronidazole 0.75% gel for a vaginal infection. I was told not a STD, but a infection. What kind of infection. The only symptom was white discharge. No burning, swelling, odor that I noticed, etc.
She sent me for an ultrasound (vaginally) which was Friday, of course I have to wait 3 weeks to get the results. She also found a bacterial infection and prescribed me with Metronidazole Gel, for I have been taking for 5 days now. Tuesday morning I woke up with a sharp pain in my lower right abdomen (best described as round ligament pain for anyone who has been pregnant and experienced this), it went away after about 30 minutes.
Has anyone else had this issue early in their pregnancy? If so, were you prescribed the standard 5 day metrogel treatment or something else? I really want to wait a few more days so my bf and I can go together and see our little peanut for the first time together (he doesn't get off work in time for the clinic hours). Will I be okay waiting a few more days or should I go right away?

My doctor perscribed me Metrogel 0.75. I have been using it since Jan 18th 2010 (last month). For the most part I have been clear, however I still see some LIGHT red areas like they are fading away. Have I not used it long enough? BUT, I cleaned the house yesterday, and now today I have a larger red area in the corner of my eye..probably from sweating? My doctor reccommended I take Doxycycline 100mg, accept I took two pills and had total stomach pain -with or without food!
