Avatar n tn I have taken Metformin 500 Mg x 2 times /day for nearly 3 years, but a year ago until now my feet are swollen, and I have bone spur on the left heel of my foot that is more growing bigger. This foot is in pain when I walk. Everyday when I take Metformin I usually have constipation and the top of my feet are swollen up. My fingers are so numb, and my urine is dark yellow and opaque.
Avatar f tn After initial diagnosis I was able to control this very well, and I was started on Metformin and Victoza - I brought my A1C down to a 7 from a 10. In the last 6 months my blood sugar numbers have gone up suddenly to A1C 8.8 despite no change to medication etc, and over the last 6 weeks I have had unusual lower leg swelling. Also, now my "liver enzymes & function are at 86." Of course the nurse didn't specify which, but they sent me for an upper quadrant ultrasound.
Avatar n tn This may have to happen every so often to keep your warnings good. I am living proof. I had completely lost all warnings and after doing this, have recovered them perfectly enough that NOW, I find that I have clear warnings if sugar levels drop even down to 70 or even if they go up to about 140. My warnings go off if I have any variation from the norm at all.
874521 tn?1424116797 So I read these articles and it seems that Merk was sued in 2010. I have not read everything on this, but wouldn't you think major warnings would have come out about this 3 years ago. I wonder if removing the chip is an option Such a shame. This was the "Holy Grail" for identification. Seems the more we take care of our kits (chips, vaccinations, meds) the more harm can be done.
178107 tn?1315947630 What other meds do you take with Byetta? I know recent warnings on pancreatitus, but this may be something they should try with me. I cannot take metformin. Actos made my appetite surge and I gained 20 lbs with combo Actos/Lantus. I went off Actos but still inject 20 units in evening. BS fast is 215. I do not EAT wrong.
Avatar n tn I started by monitering my diet and still I needed medication, so my doctor prescribed me with Glucophage XR 500mg, 2 pills a day taken at same time.
541196 tn?1293552936 I think I remember reading in the side effects, warnings and uses pamphlet that there were some tests, proceedures and surgeries which you shouldn't have while on the medication. How long should I be off the medication before and after the MRI? Are there any other things I should consider before the test? Also, when Dr's ask about vision problems, changes and such what type of things do they mean?
Avatar f tn I am being treated for Hypothyroidism and also taking Metformin. These have been Rx by my endocrynologist. She also prescribed Provera to be taken on the 15th day of the cycle, mark that date on my calendar and then continue taken Provera for 3 months starting on the same date each month (without considering what day in the cycle I am at). This will be my 3rd month on Provera and now I am supposed to start it on my 22nd day of the cycle...
10175413 tn?1427170251 Here is what they say about Harvoni. (Ledipasvir/sofosbuvir) A fatal cardiac arrest was reported in a patient receiving a sofosbuvir-containing regimen (ledipasvir/sofosbuvir). Bradycardia has generally occurred within hours to days, but cases have been observed up to 2 weeks after initiating HCV treatment.
Avatar f tn I got two warnings over the same post, and it's ridiculous because I was the one who kept reporting my own post just because I wanted it deleted..
Avatar f tn 3 months ago my Dr. put me on 500 mg Metformin. These last three months, I have worked very hard to cut carbs and loose weight. Well, I went back today, and my A1C is the same value, 6.7. I lost 9 pounds (I am still chubby at 5'4'' and 165 lb), my lipid panels had improved quite a bit (from total Cholesterol of 260 to 217) and I feel so much better than before. I am discouraged though. My Dr. says that this is just fine, as long as my A1C is under 7.0.
Avatar f tn I had to stop taking metformin completely as soon as I got my pregnancy confirmed. I was taking it for PCOS and insulin resistance. My dr said I'll probably start taking it after delivery and after I finished breastfeeding.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me once i find out im pregnant stop the metformin immediately...
Avatar m tn Did anyone notice the post on hbvadvocate.org March issue that metformin can reduce the incidence of cancer by 97pct!isn't it a great news??
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken metformin while pregnant? I am currently on metformin but my doctor told me to stop taking them at 9 weeks, but I am scared to bc I dont want to have a miscarriage. Any thoughts on what I should do?
393893 tn?1283551230 Hi ladies. have any of you ever had to take metformin? I have been on it only a week now but my body is doing weird things and it is a bit unsettling. At first I thought what I was experiencing was normal but I was researching metformin on line and it said if you have any of these certain symptoms to get emergency medical attention right away because it can be life threatning. It named off many side effects that were normal and were not normal. I had both.
Avatar f tn My doctor just placed me on Metformin 500mg for 7 days, and then I will take it twice a day after that. I took my first pill today, and a little while later I got a headache and felt like I had to eat something. The weakness part went away, however I still have a headache. I was wondering how everybody eles' expierence with this medication was and if this really helps.
393893 tn?1283551230 Hi ladies, starting metformin soon and I was wondering what to expect? I've been looking online and it seems to be a medicine for diabetics although I've seen women talking about it on the forum in the past. I'm sure my re explained this to me, but I was overloaded with other info so it probably went in one ear and out the other-so much to remember. Thank you for any help!!
435139 tn?1255460391 I don't have pcos, or endometriosis or diabetes but I have been ttc for almost a year and I am trying to research some things to talk to my doctor about when I go on Friday...I brought up Clomid but my dr. didn't like that idea and my friend said that her doctor put her on metformin (she has pcos though) and if not pregnant in a couple months, she is going on clomid...Does Metformin help you get pregnant?
