Medroxyprogesterone withdrawal

Common Questions and Answers about Medroxyprogesterone withdrawal

depo-provera

Avatar n tn Hello! I am a pharmacist and wanted to let you know that medroxyprogesterone will NOT stop you from becoming pregnant if you are taking it for 5-10 days to induce a period. It will have nothing to do with the rest of the month. During your normal cycle your progesterone raises right before your period and that drop in levels causes the period. The medroxyprogesterone is just like that normal rise and drop. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn was on medroxyprogesterone to get my period. my last month on it I didn't get my period. My OB doctor told me to call in 3 months if I don't get it. What will he put me on to help me get it again or do I have some kind of condition? This will be 3 months. I am only 39 and I think it might be perimenopause or menopausal but everyone keeps saying I'm too young. I do have some symptoms. Night sweats I also do get cramps like I'm going to get my period but I don't.
Avatar m tn My doctor prescribed Medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10 days I didn't take it the first 2 days, because i was concerned after reading more about it. my husband and I are trying to conceive. I had my Mirena IUD taken out and 4 days after i started my period, it is now 10 days later and i'm still on my period! so my doc prescribed this medication to me from what i gathered it is to stop the bleeding. will this make me ovulate after i have finished taking it?
Avatar n tn I do not mean to scare you, but I think it is important to note, that there is a reason that they stopped using medroxyprogesterone as a pregnancy test... one because there are faster ways, now... and secondly, because it can cause birth defects when taken early in pregnancy (specifically to the genital area). Given how little time you have been taking it, though, I would say that risk is very minimal, even if you are pregnant.
Avatar m tn she is on DEVIRY which is a Medroxyprogesterone tablet and also SEVISTA which is a Ormeloxifene tablet(which she is taking 2wise a week). but i inserted "unprotected" ..but almost after 30 secnds i removed realsing my mistake.. i did not ejaculate inside her. but i am still scared about the Pre seminal fluid causing pregnancy. are the pllis that she is having enough to curb pregnancy..i.e sevista which is also a contraceptive i suppose. i am really scared please help..
Avatar n tn As for the lack of periods, they did blood tests for prolactin and TSH levels, both of which were normal. My doctor gave me Medroxyprogesterone (10mg for 5 days) as part of a Progesterone Withdrawal Challenge to determine why I'm not ovulating.
Avatar n tn anovulation, clomiphene This information is provided for education purposes and is not a medical consultation. If you have specific questions, please contact your physician. Before prescribing clomid, I had a consultation session with a N.P.in October who ordered blood tests. Here are the readings: FSH 4.3 preg- negative LH 17.4 Prolactin 14.

Avatar f tn Last I had my period was Oct 18-22, on the 22nd me and my bf had sex, and he came inside me. After that we have had sex.... using the withdrawal method every time. Well, Oct 18th is a little late for me, since I usually start around the 13th and last til 17th. Now it is Nov 8th. I ovulate about 27 or so days. Is there any chance, that I might be pregnant? Please help answer this question.
Avatar n tn I've also been on the mini-pill and Provera, and both of them contained norethisterone/norethinderone acetate and medroxyprogesterone acetate, which were HORRID progesterones...they made me gain 10 lbs, my boobs were constantly sore, I felt depressed, etc. But not with Yaz! Maybe younger women should wait until they hit perimenopause to go on the pill. In any event, Yaz has been a total blessing in every way.
