Medroxyprogesterone infertility

Common Questions and Answers about Medroxyprogesterone infertility

777396 tn?1329791151 I have PCOS as well, never have a period unless prescribed medroxyprogesterone, also don't ovulate. Recently went to a infertility specialist and he is putting me on medroxyprogesterone followed by clomid and femara. That is supposed to jump start the ovaries. Did the vaginal ultrasound that diagnosed me with PCOS, had an MI for my pituitary gland , and a lovey HSG test for the uterus and tubes had a mucous plug but that is about it for now. Keep you updated.
Avatar n tn PCOS poly cystic ovarian syndrome is one possibility that causes women to miss their periods and infertility. PCOS has a lot of possible symptoms but some women experience more than others. Another possibility is high prolactin levels...that was probably tested during your blood work though. If your prolactin levels were high your doctor would probably give you a prescription to lower the level. Did your doctor prescribe you anything to induce a period?
170623 tn?1242667663 I kind of have them whenever they feel like coming or whenever I take medroxyprogesterone to make it come. But back in November my doctor did a wedge resection surgery on my ovaries to hopefully induce ovulation all on its own. My period was on November 19, and on January 3rd I tested (pg - negative and ovulation - positive) so my husband and I did our business thinking "what the hell, right?".

430388 tn?1239588723 PCOS can cause infertility but there are typically ways to fix it. Also, have you been trying or just stunned by the news? There are many women who still get pregnant even with PCOS, alot of it depends on what lab work shows your hormone levels to be and often you are prescribed medication, etc. I wouldn't worry yourself to much, I don't know why your doctor would worry you like that. Keep the faith, I'm sure you will have a beautiful bundle of your own when you are ready to start trying.
Avatar f tn I am overweight btw waaaayyyy over weight and I just had to get medroxyprogesterone to start my cycle and then of course the clomid along with the metformin...etc. I have been loossing weight slowly, but I haven't lately (as in the last 4 months) been really focusing on loosing weight haven't really been giving it my all, but of course I'm going to be more focused now than before and a little more patient as well.
Avatar n tn I took medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10 days,i start my period 2 weeks after my last pill
Avatar n tn I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome which can cause your periods to be very irregular and cause infertility issues. This may be something you want to check for with your doc. We tried once upon a time for a baby, I want to say close to a year, to no avail. then I did get pregnant once, but the very next day I miscarried. This is another problem with pcos.
Avatar n tn put me on medroxyprogesterone for 10 days. I held off taking it because I really thought I was pregnant. I gave in and took it. 7 days after my last pill I had a lot of pain and cramping and passed a large clot that looked like tissue (I had a miscarrage at age 41) and it looked the same. Let me know what happened with you. This all happened yesterday 1-25-06. Makes me realize next time listen to my body.
1340863 tn?1366644684 I am 31 years-old and our infertility issues were male factor, low sperm count (approx 2 million). One week left of waiting until my beta, but I'll be testing every morning until then! During this whole process, the only relief I've found from the stress happened when I found this forum when I came home from my transfer on 2/7.
280700 tn?1210287416 I think women who are getting pregnant on clomid might have a higher risk of miscarriage anyway, because of infertility issues, so that could be skewing things. Also, a great deal of pregnancies end in miscarriage, and because we are going through infertility treatments, we are finding out we are pregnant WAY sooner than a normal person would. A person who got pregnant naturally and who miscarries at 5 weeks or so might not even realize they were pregnant in the first place.
Avatar n tn if you were on the fertility meds and progesterone, you will probably feel that way even if you're pregnant or not. you may want to check out webmd Infertility Treatment Support Group (TTC) this board is SO'lll get a lot of information there.
