Marinol and drug tests

Common Questions and Answers about Marinol and drug tests

marinol

Avatar n tn I have been able to go to work and function since then, although always depressed, alone, angry. I recently added marinol and provigil, and feel optimistic for the first time in years, until the drug test. It's assumed I'm lying, but I need someone to help figure out where the phenobarbital came from. I'm certain I took it at some time, but not in several years. I'm ready to give up, so this is my final plea for help? I've got no more fight left in me. Thanks.

Avatar f tn Good story..but what is the point in reference to the relevance of the topic of the post. Some people take anti depressants to make them feel better....which is acceptable within the medical establishment....but if too many are taken, they are labled as pill poppers.....some people might find that THC makes them feel better, and if taken regularly, society labels them as dopeheads. So.....what is better....to be a labled dopehead or pillpopper?
163305 tn?1333672171 So, can anyone give me an answer as to why I'm not being affected healthwise by occasionally partaking in theraputic treatment of ingesting or is it inhaling marijuana after nine years post transplant and finally, the THC does'nt even register in the blood tests whereby drug abuse screening is included??? I did'nt think so!!! Finally, if you've been around as long as I've been and actually been to the NIH Headquarters in what town in Maryland, revinire???
Avatar n tn He also wanted to do three tests to check for the presence of blood in the milk. I did the tests and took them back to the office. I am awaiting the results, because I only took the tests in on Friday. Previous results were negative for blood. But I am going to ask him if he will order an MRI of the brain to look for pituitary tumors. I wondered if the adrenal glands can also be examined in such a way. I will ask about the ACTH.
Avatar n tn It attacks the liver full fledge, as if it is a foreign part of the body. Thankfully, it was caught on time, and prednisone and a drug called 6 mmp seem to be taking care of the problem. It is, as well as MS, never goes away, but can stay controlled. Anyway, I hit this button accidentally after I was done chatting w/my email friends as well that have my disease. I wanted to say you ladies sound like a great group of gals. Such support and love in your words.

Avatar f tn CPS of course had to investigate so a caseworker came to our house and interviewed us all and told us the drug and abuse allegations and we both explained to her that we didn't do meth or any drug like that but (and I also showed her my Rx sheet for the Marinol) we told her about the pot use and explained why I wasn't on the Rx instead (when I told her the amount of money I would have had to come up with to get the Rx filled for a 30-day supply I thought she was going to pass out) and I explain
560501 tn?1383616340 My brother hade cancer back in the early 90's and was prescribed Marinol....It certainly helped w/ his nausea! I just found an article that they are now prescribing it "Off Label" for people w/ MS. It is now a Schedule III medication which allows doctors to prescribe it for off label uses. A number of studies show that THC provides medical benefits for cancer and AIDS patients by increasing appetite and decreasing nausea.
917763 tn?1311632496 Speaking for myself, it did wonders for me as far as sleeping through the treatment torture, and I'm still here to tell the tale, with very little progression in the past 4 years. Naturally, you should ask your doctor, and of course there's worry of drug tests if your work requires them. Just a thought...
572651 tn?1531002957 VERY FAST compared to many people left in limboland...but all my tests and scans clearly pointed to MS. My neuro then advised me to transfer care to the NHS to enable me access DMD's if I wanted them. In fact as many of you know I am still trying to get onto the oral drug trial (commencing screening in October) as an alternative to DMD's. If it does not happen this time then I will have to start the screening for funding for DMD's under the NHS.
Avatar n tn im not shur, but i know marijuana is harmless [other than carcinagines which can be reduced with a water pipe] god gave us this great HERB, THIS SHOULD not BE CONSEDERED A DRUG, AND IS COMPLETLY REDICULIOUS TO BE ILLEGAL!!!!!
1461073 tn?1308681148 I too questioned the Zofran/Phenergan protocol, along with the Marinol, as being too aggressive. The Oncologist just put him on the Zofran and Marinol on 10/2/18. He said he wanted to try it for a week to see if it helped. The CBD oil was recommended by a friend whose child is battling cancer and has helped his N/V and appetite a lot so my hubby wanted to try it.
Avatar m tn I also was having arthritic symptoms in both hands, feet joints, and knees. They tested me for gout and Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) but both tests came up negative. Since I was diagnosed with BCFS, my neurologist prescribed me Clonazepam to take at bedtime (one .5mg tablet), which has not gotten rid of the muscle spasms 100%, however it knocks me out so I have been getting restful sleep which has helped me quite a bit overall. Avatar m tn My doctors immediately suggested it to me, also offered me MARINOL as a substitute. Specific tests must be run to detect THC.
284078 tn?1282620298 By the way the patient has improved dramatically but is still on four different glaucoma medications and one dilating drop. He is nowhere close to a full recovery and I suspect that he will probably have long term negative effects from the attack. If you are on Topamax or considering taking it, please be aware that it can cause acute myopia, choroidal effusions, acute angle closure glaucoma and severe vision loss.
Avatar f tn I went to see my GP 3 weeks ago and he prescribed omeprazole, which is an anti-ulcer drug. Didn't get any better and got an urgent appt with my gastro last week. He has ordered a CT scan of my pancreas, liver, abdomen and pelvis -having that June 24th. Then 9th July he is doing an upper endoscopy under sedation. He doubled the omeprazole and also prescribed domperidone, an anti-emetic, which I had when having FEC chemo for breast cancer.
Avatar n tn i have been smoking pot occasionally for about a year. i have also been to a new doctor. i have blood tests and urine tests upcoming in about a week, partly because they have discovered a lump in my breast...i think it is gynecomastia, but not completely sure. paranoia has now set in. what are the doctor-patient confidentiality laws like? will my employer have access to my test results? i work in the human services field and enjoy things the way they are...know what i mean?
Avatar n tn However, he said he has been hearing of some good responsives with a drug, (he said the name and called it in to my Pharmacist, and I didn't write it down what the name was as I was going to see the name once I was supposed to pick it up from the Pharmacy), that is used my patients after a kidney transplant. So, he prescribed it for me, however, it bounced back from the pharmacy, because they said it was a certain class of drug, and must be approved by my health insurance.
Avatar m tn Marijuana Not Medicine, Addiction Experts Say Kathleen Louden Apr 29, 2013 CHICAGO — Illinois should not legalize cannabis, and physicians should not write recommendations for patients to use marijuana for medical purposes, because it is a dangerous, addictive drug and is not approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), a group of addiction medicine physicians said during a press conference here.
Avatar f tn I have been in rehab programs, pain clinics, and I just cannot get relief either. I hate taking this drug because my body depends on it, and it is not very effective. I do get botox. Have you tried that? Also I get massage, acupuncture and minimal chiropractic care. I apologize that this is so long, but I wanted you to see what happened to me because I didn't check everything out. Know that I am here if you need someone to talk to.
Avatar n tn Hi there... so sorry I missed this post as well. I completed chemo in February this year and can understand what you are going through. I can't add too much that already hasn't been said, but just know that you don't have to suffer. There are so many meds out there, that if one doesn't work, the Dr can and will find another. I know for me, I usually felt the worse for the first 4 days after my chemo, and after that would actually feel pretty normal.
567677 tn?1246771376 he said to me well Utah does not have Medical Majiuana but for trigeminal neuralgia I can put you on Marinol the side effects will help you ... I asked him what it was and he told me I was just glad I wasn't presenting for it...
146021 tn?1237208487 Now I'm trying to think of ways to raise hep c awareness so there's more money for research. It seems so obvious, go to the drug manufacturers with stats and ask politely for money to advertise to increase awareness, then show some public awareness annoucements that are real catchy with (this is where you come in) some really good music slowly rising to a cresendo at the end so that everytime someone hears that song they'll think of hep c and go and get a blood test.
4226456 tn?1354123528 The diagnosis always depends on a complex interpretation of multiple tests and physical exam results. Many cases require a very knowledgeable and perceptive specialist, and frequently different doctors will arrive at different conclusions for the diagnosis. Occasionally the diagnosis is so difficult that it is made after observing responses to different trials of medications.
Avatar n tn I fell on my back while in the service, and afterwards I started having pain in my left hip. Many tests were run to try and find what was causing this pain, but everything looked fine. It wasn't until a physical therapist started poking around my back that things changed. The findings of the first MRI are below. I have had several done over the past six years for my back, and everything looks about the same: 1. multiple degenerative Schmorl's disease from T11/12 down through L4/L5 2.
Avatar m tn All this happened without my blood tests being too low. At around week 20, it finally evened out and I have been feeling much better. The weirdest thing is that my hgb actually hit the lowest (just below 10) when I was feeling at my best. So the way one reacts to the meds, has not necessarily anything to do with the how your blood values actually are. I gotta add, that I was having symptoms of fatigue before I started treatment and that I have low blood pressure.
Avatar f tn When I was on a triple therapy it did help when I stopped the 3rd drug and just took the peg and riba. In my case no rescue drugs were allowed so that did not help.
